Think Ipswich will stay up.
Think Norwich,Birmingham and QPR will be relegated.

Norwich will finish well above you, you've signed a bunch of promising League One players which as expected was way too many to bed in at once.

Will see by Christmas but at the moment I agree with you,not enough players that have had Championship experience.Should have kept Waghorn and Garner.

Are you missing McGoldrick ? Your reply suggests not.

Cheers

Would be nice to get reading out of this league. Would also like Birmingham to go because of monk. Then maybe qpr because of schteve or stoke or Ipswich because it's a pain to get to.

I’d rather Boro, pain to get to.

Oh dear Ipswich. 10 man Bolton for an hour and you couldn’t beat them!

Awful today, really poor performance against another poor side.

Still unbeaten at home, and nobody has really put us the sword so far this season, but my oh my do we need goals. Walters hobbling off again today is not going to help, either.

Unless we go 15+ without a win, ME will never pull the trigger on Hurst this early, nor do I want him too. It's not his way of operating, whatever the opposite of trigger happy is, sums up Marcus Evans.

No thanks, as a season ticket holder who watches week in week out I'd genuinely rather take League 1 in the unlikely event that's coming.

Brilliant. You all hounded him out and now you’re already worse off than you ever were, or would be if he was still in charge of the club. Your opinion now of claiming that getting miserably relegated is somehow better than being a solid Championship side is just embarrassing and a fucking blatant way of avoiding admitting you were horrendously wrong which you full well know.

I just can’t understand why Hurst’s decision to sign ex Conference and league 2 players to play in the Championship isn’t working.

How can you know where we would be if he was still in charge? Nobody can categorically know where we would be so as I’ve said before jog on. Mick has.

We had a decent team but Mick wouldn’t use it properly. We had players who could knock it about and play decent football but they weren’t given the opportunity to be expressive. They had to sit back deeper and deeper.

Hurst come in and sold players we should have kept and sent our promising youth (with more championship appearances than the new ones) out on loan or doesn’t play them. Rumours he’s upset a few behind the scenes, including the youth manager who I imagine is frustrated he’s sent all his players out on loan. Doig is even more disliked by the sounds of it.

Evans has to be made accountable for the way he went about bringing Hurst in and now he’s got to pull the trigger already imo.

I just still think I've seen enough for us to finish top 18 or so. We've finished two games with 10 men, lost our CB for 3 matches, and played good football in parts, whilst nobody has given us a good hounding, and we're unbeaten at home.

I'm not suggesting it's going to be a memorable season, but at this stage I'm not unduly concerned about relegation. It could happen, I just don't think it will.

I know nothing about Ipswich but as I said many weeks ago, I do know on the grapevine that some of your senior players fell out with Hurst a long time ago.
I never seen a fan base so wrong as one and this season is gonna be funny as fuck to see it all unfold.
McCarthy would have had you midtable or chasing play offs again as per always.

I’m interested to know how you have known of the discontent? The only way I can imagine is Webster has said something and it’s been spread around Bristol.

McCarthy had us finish in 16th the prior season having spent money (some, although wasted on wages and His wage probably didn’t help the matter) and that was our lowest position in 60 odd years so you can’t say he would have us where you say he would

“How can you know where we’d be if he was still in charge?” Yet another comment to continue to try and justify hounding him out of the club by pretending you might well’ve been just as bad if you kept him. You know full well that’s not the case and let’s break it down why:

2012/13 - 14th - Having joined the club rock bottom in November with 7 points from 13 games and 5 adrift from safety.
2013/14 - 9th
2014/15 - 6th
2015/16 - 7th
2016/17 - 16th
2017/18 - 12th

Isn’t it funny that out of those 5 seasons you weren’t in any danger and now you’re back in the same position as when he joined the club.

As I’ve said before, if Lee Johnson had been managing you in any of the last few years you’d have been relegated, simple as that. Same would go for a lot of other managers in the division.

I’m sure 90%, if not every Town fan were absolutely grateful for what Mick did for the club in the first 4 seasons. Nobody wanted it to end the way it did, Evans should have called time on it at the end of 16/17 when many fans began to become disillusioned. Town fans are not the sort to ‘hound’ anyone out but the fact it went on so long, they became so.
I’ve mentioned it countless times, poor records McCarthy broke were why fans became restless.
Any other club would be the same.

Edit: we were 4 points above the drop 16/17. I’d say that’s pretty dangerous

I think the vitriol should have been aimed firmly at the owner for nowhere near adequately backing him. Always seemed to be that McCarthy was the brunt of the abuse when he had nowt to work with. You say he spent money in 16/17 but crikey he spent absolutely nothing compared to our 16m+ and yet, we nearly got relegated and you finished above us. You’ve got to be careful what you wish for.
