1.When the food in the away end snack vans has run out before the players have jogged out for their pre match warm up. We played Harrogate Railway away three times in league cup and not once was there a pie left within 10mins of KO.
2.When you realise Harrogate Railway is actually a club and not one of your station transfers.
When you walk through the turnstiles at Harrogate Railway and see THAT pitch.

When your game away at Braintree gets postponed for the 6th time due to a waterlogged pitch and ends up getting played at the end of June.

When your outgoing board accept an offer for a majority shareholding from a local accountant and a local financial advisor, and refuse to consider an offer from a multi-millionnaire locally-based businessman with already established contacts in football circles. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Southport Football Club.

Never a truer word said, it's been a real novelty.

Media coverage is actually better then league 2, you get on tv a lot more, bbc commentaries are broadcast free online and the NLP covers the league like it's the prem.

Yeah, the coverage in that respect is something I'll miss. It's improved a lot since we've been down here IMO.

That said, there's a new platform out in the FL this season where overseas fans can stream all their teams games, and I suspect they'll be a way around that for some!

When you realise people are actually being serious when they talk about Forest Green as though they're a real football club.
You know you're in non-league when fans of a club with less than 10 years history cast envious aspersions at Forest Green Rovers FC, a REAL Football club formed 129 years ago in 1889.

As good as this is for the non-UK based fan, it is also the start of a slippery slope I reckon. What are the odds that this live match business will also be offered to UK residents in less than 5 years time? It hasn't even begun and fans are already saying they'll go for it if they have the chance as they could do without travelling 'insert no. of hours here' to make every home match.

Sorry for derailing the thread. Carry on.

Yeah, I agree with that, although you'd hope at our level we have less armchair fans than higher levels!

Even if you accept the weak idea that FC Halifax Town are the same club as Halifax Town AFC, they'd still be tinpot, as Halifax Town AFC were relegated into non-league twice, thus losing proper club status. What must be even galling is both relegations came before the introduction of 2up 2down. How incredibly Tinpot

If that was the case they could have heard him out and then rejected his proposals. The thing is we're not really set up to be scammed - we pay a peppercorn rent for the ground, it backs on to a school and a college, and there is a covenant on the land for sporting use only. The guy who is interested has already had his company sponsor our shirts. Nothing makes sense here any more.

+1 and halifax town afc will never get back to the football league seen as thougth they were wound up. Will be little fish in a very big pond if they get promoted.

Look at them Tin Potters ganging up on me, I know what Geoffrey Howe meant when he talked about being savaged by a dead sheep, now. :fl::fl::fl:

My first game in non league was gravesend & northflett,
Got off train at Gravesend, looked round station and all ran back to train, thought we had got off at wrong station it was that small.

To make matters worse , next season some teams in conference North probably won't even have a station.
The joys of being shit?

And now Gravesend are named after a train station in an even smaller village

when you actually know where Forest green is
First thing I did when we got relegated was print out a map of Britain and plot exactly where each team was based. I genuinely had no idea where a decent proportion of the league was from!

It's very slim IMO.

If it's a slippery slope then there is a mountain to traverse in getting rid of the 3pm blackout rule. Sure some fans might go for it, but clubs would at best break even if fans here could stream the games from home. Not to mention people getting around paying it and streaming through dodgy sites.

I seriously doubt clubs would support the rule change to allow televising games while the 3pm Saturday games are underway.

Good job you didn't get off at Northfleet, that's even smaller!
