Any ground improvements over the summer? Didn't look like it'd be able to hold anything close to 2,400!
Wasn't a new stand on the way?

Planning consent for a major upgrade has been a challenge to say the least by all accounts. Due before the panel early August i believe.

After back to back home matches we shall be taking our team of giants on the road to the Moss Rose to play Macclesfield tonight in the reverse fixture of last season's pre-season friendly.

Should be a good game. I suspect some squad rotation may occur this evening seeing as both clubs only played on Weds vs Bolton XI & Bury respectively. Hopefully a chance to see new signings Dean Henderson, Jordan Thorniley and Lewis Montrose

Lost 2-1, with of course Kristian Dennis getting a goal for Macc. The Silkman just about deserved the win in a pretty even game though we piled on the pressure on the last 20 minutes and could have got a draw as they struggled as we went more direct.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I liked the look of the big guy (Odejayi?) you brought on in the second half and your team looks like it could be doing better next season. Was pleased with our performance, including our two well taken goals but particularly because we played well as a team even in the absence of regular first team players (Halls, Pilkington, Lewis, Sampson and essentially Turnbull as he was subbed very near the start).

A minor point but TBJ looked really good tonight, hadn't impressed me previously but had a much better end product tonight and was regularly beating the County full back.

Yeah that was Morton, someone who I have already picked out as our weak link this season. I agree Odejayi was the most effective of our 3 big lumps up top, missed two chances though and Colley missed a sitter first half. I think i might spend a lot of the early season bemoaning our right back and our finishing.

Lost 2-0 to Pompey, there was a few handbags in the stand when 2 pissed up blokes from Pompey steamed in to a load of Woking with some 16-18 year olds over literally nothing. The two blokes definitely came out the worst getting medical attention.

On the game there was a clear gap in technical ability whereas when we played oxford we were the better side. Pompey beat us comfortably without getting out of second gear to be honest.

Currently beating Evesham 4-0 Gaz Singh with 2 of the goals, somebody probably a youth player called Westwood and Sweeney with the other 2

Maths wasn't my strongest subject at school many moons ago, however, I make that 5!:dk:
Well, I did maths at Uni and Singh (2), Westwood (1), Sweeney (1) makes four to me :2thumb:. Moot point anyway, as it finished 6-0 with Singh and O'Hanlon scoring the final goals.

Tbf the way you worded the original message, it could have been read that Westwood scored one and Sweeney got two.

Early days with Morton, it's a step up for him. If he starts off poorly, I'm sure Young will be quick to find other solutions either on loan or within the squad. I'm happy our central midfield choices look solid, haven't given ourselves a proper chance with our options the last couple of years. I agree on the second point re: strikers because that is obviously a Young choice and therefore a long term strategy. We need some targetmen at this level but not for all our strikers surely.

If Young doesn't fancy Lees, we need rid quick so we can get a centre half in fast. If O'Hanlon is out we look flimsy with Ellison and Thorniley. Not enough experience or height there for me. I would possibly keep Ellison if he can play right full back. he doesn't look a bad player but not a centre half at this level for me. Especially not partnering a kid.

2-0 up at ht. Pittman and Marshall with the goals.

First time I've seen us this pre season and I'm very impressed. Lovely football being played, one touch, first to every second ball and pressuring county to make mistakes. That old cliché that it's only a friendly but still if we play like this in the league we won't have many problems.

All that optimism has evaporated as we are 2-1 down at the break. Conceding two free headers at corners.

Won 3-0 Amond with the second half goal. County were pretty poor in the second half, don't think they had a shot on goal.

Drew 0-0 with Boston in Lincs cup, then won on pens. Our YT + 4 young pro's got smashed 7-2 I think at Worksop.

We beat Boston in the Lincolnshire Cup 4-1 on pens after a boring 0-0 draw.

Bit hypocritical I know cos of my avis and that but before an admin tells you off, I'd change it. Nudity is a bit of a sore issue on here as it can affect the website's google rating and thus profitability (or something like that, I have no idea how it actually works tbh).
