We beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 this afternoon, Billy Waters with both goals. Really good performance, could have been 4 or 5.

We beat Hednesford 4-1 up at their place. I'm not really fussed about results pre season it nice to get a win after the Stoke thumping.

How are Jordan and Draper doing? First teamers?
Todd Jordan and Draper are both first teamers. Draper has impressed and picked a MOTM award against Notts Co for a string of superb saves

Todd Jordan has been ok. Made a few errors but has also chipped with some good interceptions in Midfield

Clee Town (A) - W 4-0
Derby County (H) - W 2-1
North Ferriby (A) - W 2-1
Gainsborough (A) - W 3-1
Huddersfield (H) - W 3-1
Brigg Town (A) - W 6-0
Notts County (H) - W 3-0

7 games, 7 wins. 23 goals, 18 from our 4 forwards. Excellent, attractive football played against a variety of sides.

Pre-season or not, we're looking pretty good at the minute. Doesn't matter what sort of game you're playing, if your strikers are scoring you're generally gonna do well and all of ours are doing so. Amond and Pittman are on fire while Bogle has 2 despite barely playing so far.

Lads I know who went today were very impressed with Grimsby, said they were up for it as though it was a proper game and just won everything and we couldn't really be arsed, which isn't great. Hopefully it's your time to come back up.

Bit of a makeshift side for us but it seems both teams were largely kept at bay by the opposition defence.

Farman's saved 6 of the last 7 penalties he's faced apparently.

Beat Basingstoke Town 2-1 with Gallagher and a trialist scoring..

We had Rory Boulding on trial and someone called 'Reece' who got the goal - possibly Reece Harris?

We drew 1-1 with Hyde today apparently.

The first goal a proper Town team has conceded this pre season and was a pen.

Sound solid but missing a spark, not that these games mean anything

A brilliant 2-1 win at home to Bristol Rovers today. This was our most important test of the summer, playing a team who were in the Conference last season and are now above us.

The fact that the desire on show in a meaningless friendly was a million times more evident than that shown by last year's rabble in a relegation dogfight shows how awful we were.

A decent game overall as well, played at a much higher pace than a typical friendly, some nigglyness, a couple of saved penalties and a decent atmosphere.

I never read anything into friendly results but the whole atmosphere around the club is enough to raise the confidence for the season ahead.

We beat Stalybridge 4-1 at Bower Fold, goals from Chapell (2), Hobson and teenage man-of-the-moment Sam Hughes.

Two left now before the big kick off, one for the kids with Liverpool U21's on Wednesday and a more interesting game against Crewe next weekend.

0-0 draw at AFC Rushden & Diamonds yesterday. Our forum has gone into meltdown over a lack of goals scored (2 in 5 matches) but also because core players haven't featured at all and that could show at Bath in two weeks time.

We played 2 games at local sides winning 2-0 at Bishops Cleeve on Friday and and drawing 0-0 at Slimbridge yesterday.

Two good run outs against decent opposition.

Sounded like we gave a reasonable account of ourselves, couldn't make the game myself unfortunately. We've been very tight at the back, though were a little make-shift at the fullback position.

We beat Biggleswade 2-0 in midweek, although that game was actually abandoned 5 mins from time due to a mass brawl! Apparently the same player who set that off went in pretty hard in this game too.

Farman seems a totally different keeper since his spell at Boston last season.

We got stuffed 3-0 by Crewe. Not sure we'll have learned much. Probably just a good opportunity to get fit chasing round trying to win back possession for 90 minutes.

Well done Harrogate Town, a deserved 2-0 win against a York side that was pretty much the strongest available but unfortunately didn't bother to turn up.

A local side to me, Bashley FC, Southern League Division One South & West, have sacked their manager after 40 days in charge due to "a run of poor pre-season results and a lack of player signings".
 Harsh!

Another friendly, another win. We came from 1-0 down to beat Peterborough 2-1 with another very good performance.

3-1 win against Bangor City

Two more goals for Gray and a stonking performance by Vose, now being utilised wide in the front three rather than central midfield.

We drew 1-1 against United under 21's.
I expected us to get a tonking so I'm pleased with that.

Lost 2-0 to Shrewsbury

Adam Dawson once again shone for us (really hope we sign him but doubt we can afford him) but overall think we played well we matched Shrewsbury for the most part their goals were lucky their first was a shot that deflected of a defender and went into the other corner, the other the ball deflected into Collins path and he left Palmer with no chance.

Sounds like Vose was class tonight, probably won't be long for him to be recognised as our best player. And Gray has hit the ground running, I think he has something like 6 or 7 goals in 8 games. Opposition hasn't always been up to much mind but he will get goals for us.

Just beat Mickleover Sports newly promoted to the Evo Stik Premier 3-0. Sam Smith, Joe Leesley with a 30 yard chip and Tom Allan with the goals. Decent runout against awkward opposition. We had Andre Johnson on Trial. A Derby County scholar who spent last season at Worksop Town in the NCEL and score 27 in 30 games. Looks to have something about him I hope we give him the full 90 in our final pre season game at Coalville on Saturday. Around 120-150 there
