Other than our usual training camp in Ireland (with three or four games against local sides and anyone who's also out there) then nothing's confirmed.

I'm sure there'll be at least one of the big London teams at home and hopefully a marquee European name (thinking Torres's Atletico at the NHS rather than Rayo Vallecano this time).

Tour of Malaysia and Thailand, with a few games after we get back. Wouldn't be surprised if we played Swansea at home in our main pre-season game AGAIN.

Why do clubs travel so far away? Can't be that good for them...

I assume we'll play Burton this pre-season, as we always do. Some local sides like Ilkeston too. Not sure on other friendlies though.

Marketing. Sell some shirts, decent payday, "build the brand" etc...

One thing I've never understood is going to Portugal or Spain and training on rock hard pitches when the body is most susceptible to injury.

Botswana tour worked wonders for us this season
I guess camdenite gave a good answer but especially teams like Chelsea, Man Utd etc... They go very far away and that really has to fatigue the players.

We usually have a tour of Ireland followed by glamour friendlies against the likes of Cheltenham and Doncaster. Pretty shit really.

Only one game confirmed for us at the moment, Luton away.

I imagine it will be the usual tour of the local area, with a couple of Premiership sides coming along, unless we go up.

For us we're going to Thailand to play the clubs that our owners also own, and Malaysia probably just to extend the trip.

Given that we had our worst season in 15+ years and we travelled to Wycombe, Exeter and Yeovil last Summer I think being so far away won't harm us...

I hope we don't go to Austria again, play on a shit pitch, and injure George Thorne.

Well Samrit owns Insee Police United so almost certain we'll play them. Sasima I think has a link to Bangkok United so I guess them too.

No ideas about Malaysia.

A mate who supports Bury told me we'll be playing them at Gigg Lane again this summer, heard it from David Flitcroft.

Owls, Blades and Forest all visited York last season, Wednesday filled the away end. Wouldn't mind any of that lot coming for a repeat visit.

I don't think we'll be playing Rangers, it contradicts the other rumour of us going to Portugal on the 22nd July.

Why would rangers want to play you at home . There hardly gonna be coming out in there droves are they in glasgow to see that. They either play chelsea, liverpool or newcastle normally.

Nah nige doesn't travel out of england which makes him even more of a prick he should be sacked for that alone. By the way when we played morton the other year and you played rangers , morton were in a higher league we were going for the bigger fish.:2thumb: I went to hillsborough for the rangers game absolutely incredible atmosphere in the away end a great day and night out that one.
