Just looking at our final 6 fixtures, and I realise that there is a good chance of a total haul of 0 points, especially now Newby has gone back to Barrow.

WTF has happened?

Other than a ten minute spell at the start of the second half, that was as easy a win as we've had all season. DarkSith your right, your left back was terrible and was given a torrid time of things throughout. We really should have won by 5 as Hopper missed an open goal from 6 yards out, that said the bobble didn't help. The pitch is a shambles.

Fair play to your support btw, never stopped singing. Ours was very quiet not helped but yet another week going by with sod all ground news.
Yes the pitch was shocking for league football.
Ryan Wilson is a midfielder really by trade. Hopefully now Russ wont playing him at left back again.

A lunchtime tale for everyone......

Irving Weaver is the Chairman (owner of strata homes) and his son is our manager. Think this is our 8th season with this set up, though i can be forgiven for forgetting as, last season apart, every season is the same.

Strong investment in playing staff and a mediocre return. And repeat.

The turn over of good players is striking. Andi Thanoj, Chib Chilaka, John Paul Pittman, Jordan Robertson are 4 out of 5 key signings this season that haven't stuck at all - not a great record and something repeated most seasons.

Club has come on and credit in certain areas to the current owners - we have two new stands (football trust), a growing kids development structure, better community links and a shiny new 3g pitch (if thats your thing).

Tho sneaking suspicion some of the above is what could have been done by proactive ownership without great wads of cash but that's imho. When the club clearly think otherwise and seem to think we should stand back in wonderment and shut it if and when we do have genuine and impacting feedback on their sometimes naive decisions - ever heard the one about the club that doesn't even share on twitter its clubs fans away travel details? Or allows a player to try and attack a fan, not once but two separate occassions and actually starts picking the chump after the first altercation and drops him on the front page of the programme.

Or bans a core fan (along with loads others!) from its twitter feed cos he had the nerve to complain on twitter at his son not getting a signed shirt he spent his 7th birthday money on sponsoring.......6 months previous, having chased the club 3 times before??! There is a littering of gaffs pretty much every season like this. To fans, or to committed volunteers or even some of its own, non Strata Homes directors at the club. Club just appointed two new Directors last year....also employees of Strata Homes.

It has felt at times this season like a football club equivalent of an oligarchy! Enjoy peasents the money spent but dare you not speak a word in objection to anything.

It's clear with our unique set up that the focus is very much on anything but its fans - we are just along for the father-son ride.

Saw last week on our messageboard someone saying the club are owned by Strata homes, on their balance sheet and is a clear certainty that when manager goes, which will eventually happen, so will the owner - a big double whammy if ever there was one and a sneaking worry of what happens to the debt accrued over these years.

The development of the club off the pitch would say it should be ok but nothing has ever been spoken of what will eventually happen when the manager moves on given both chairman and managers fortunes have publically been flagged as being wholly linked and what legacy the build up of losses year after year will have when this happens; especially as anyone who has visited our ground would say its in a rather nice location.
Intresting read. Sounds like doncaster rovers or darlington a few years ago. Wonder if the chairnan will appoint hinself manager or if he will threaten fans during the night

On way to tonight's huge match at home to fcum......biggest home match of season for us.

Absolute stunning night weather wise, hopefully a good crowd and decent game.......expect a draw as that is norm for this fixture

Curzon 1-0 FCUM at half time.

A damp squid of a game so far. Fcum have done very well in halting our attacks and really are unlucky to be behind as our goal came from a massive error from their keeper.

That being said, fcum are so slow with the ball they have done nothing going forward......dont see them scoring as it is

FCUM were as rubbish as any team I've seen (apart from us) this season. Is Greg Wilkinson playing for them tonight?

Is a Wilkinson in their team so guessing so.

That's a tad far a comparison, last season there was a genuine feeling of progress and good relations but has been a sorry tale again this year. There is worse ways to watch your club, the football can be good and some good lads in the team. The investment is there it is just devalued by the self imposed, foot in mouth mistakes of areas at the club.
All most wanted was a repeat of last seasons progress off the pitch. But then it's not really our club as mere fans.

Its strange. I didn't know how much of a chance Staly actually still had. If they had beaten Worcester and Telford they could have been 5 behind with 3 games in hand......this week finished them off.

Wonder if that change in manager when they were becoming more solid was a big error

To be fare, there has been steady progress off pitch this year. The Highlights are a big improvement and communication is better then it has been, if still not great. Youth development must be working well seen as they are about to win the league. Lady's team smashed the league without dropping a point.
Surely if we fail to make the playoffs next season full time then Weaver will dump his Son. . . Surely!

Another huge round of fixtures tomorrow

Fylde v Darlo
Telford v Worcester
Alfreton v Bradford PA
Brackley v Boston
Chorley v Gainsborough
Curzon v Gloucester
FC v Stalybridge
Kiddy v Halifax
Salford v Alty
Stockport v Nuneaton
Tamworth v Hrrogate

Biggest game of the weekend is the relegation clash between Telford and Worcester. Victory for Worcester and defeat for Gainsboro all but relegates the Lincolnshire side.

Massive games at the top. Start of a tough run in for Halifax away at Kidderminster. If Kiddy win at home I think they will all be turning their allegiance to Darlo because if we can get a win away to Fylde not only would it solidify our playoff claim it would mean Kiddy can catch Fylde on points with their game in hand.

Chorley, salford or stockport droping points this weekend would be a blow for their playoff hopes against lower opposition. But wold be great for us to see one or two surprise results.

I honestly think you can beat Fylde 1 win in 5 and that was Gainsborough, they are there for the taking.

We can beat anyone at home it's just about us turning up cos we didn't last week. But we should have a full strength squad after a couple of injuries.

Massive result for us. Really shows just how tight it is in this league. It's going to go all the way to the final day.

How did Adam Nowakowski get on being on loan at BPA but playing you guys?
Good lad who deserved better from his time at Town and could easily still be one of our legion of midfielders.

Fylde were very underwhelming at ours a few weeks back and lucky to get a draw. Good seeing Daniels playing tosh. Having seen both you and Fylde in recent weeks I would say you look a better side on present showing.

How are Worcester looking finances wise? Think it was common knowledge that at the start of the season they didn't have much money left after the St Georges Lane sale and the FA cup runs. Still no planning permission at Perdiswell and even if they get it how can they finance it? Could we see a AGM cup scenario? It was only a few months ago a lot of their support seemed to think it was curtains and they'd ask for demotion so maybe a chance for Gainsboro still if results go against them.
