Not the best of performances but got the job done. Changed the game when Andy Drury and Bradley Bubb came on.

Great day out, even with a crocked knee and feeling the effects of the night before.

How did Freeman do yesterday? He's got pace and likes to shoot but he's well behind in the pecking order at Wycombe hence why we loaned him out.

Impressed on his debut then again, he's been the kind of person we've been missing all season, somebody who's direct and makes full use of the pitch. His willingness to shoot is also needed here too as we've definitely overplayed at times.

Gives us so much more balance.

Last away day before Christmas which always sees a big turnout, add on a new ground and the numbers will be even bigger as we head down to the south coast to take on Poole. Honestly, if the hosts do have playoff aspirations then they should be beating us after our laborious win in Extra Time on Tuesday night at Wingate & Finchley. That said it is absolutely imperative that Sam Cox and Ricky Wellard are our central midfield pair if we are to pick up a result. The former breaks up the play nicely and the latter seems to be the only one at the minute who can pick a pass and draw defenders in.

Poole Town 1-1 Wealdstone (Att: 663)

Deserved point for us down on the South Coast today, hadn't it been for some fantastic goalkeeping from the hosts' Nick Hutchings we would have won today. Shock horror but as I stated above, Cox and Wellard in midfield work really well.

Great scenes when Omar Koroma bundled in the equaliser in the 92nd minute - delirium from the large away following (unofficially 270 but I'd say 250) and a mini stampede occurred when Sam Cox and Elliot Benyon jumped into the crowd.

No stopping Maidenhead it seems. 5-0 winners over Dartford with Dave Tarpay scoring 4 of them that 26 goals in 21 games. I hope we're not letting him slip through our fingers as with his record i'm surprised other clubs haven't tried to sign him.

Have you seen Tarpey's 2nd from yesterday? Incredible solo goal with one of the finest pieces of skill you'll ever see.

Hoping to keep him and the rest of the Maidenhead team quiet when they make the short trip to Ruislip on Boxing Day.

I haven't seen it yet but my brother was there who said it was a superb goal,i'm just amazed that a team in a higher league hasn't tried to sign him. Alan Devonshire is doing a remarkable job as manager and i wouldn't be surprised if he gets an offer to manage a League 2 club with his record this season at Maidenhead.

Alan Payne was assistant manager at Sutton for several seasons including our 2010/11 Isthmian title winning season. An absolute gent and top guy, I wish him nothing but success even with the hipsters

Big chance blown for Ebbsfleet today, speaking of which...

Wealdstone 2-1 Maidenhead United (Att: 1,100)

Worked hard and a bit of luck saw us home and inflicted Maidenhead's first defeat in the league since the start of August. I can't say the game was pretty on the eye from both sides but there was plenty of endeavour and occasionally real moments of quality. Dave Tarpey for his goal at Dartford couldn't score for toffee from open play today. He did tuck away a penalty to equalise for the Magpies at the time but missed at least two one-on-one's, the first of which would have been a beaut if he'd scored.

Decent crowd in at the Vale and talk from the chairman in his programme notes that the Gun Turret end will be receiving one of the terraces from PEPF (or the Hive *ugh*) from Barnet in the summer. That would be massive and it indicates that there's either a real likelihood of the lease being extended or it's already been signed.

The situation at Gosport Borough looks to have deteriorated badly.

Several players have left with 5 making themselves unavailable for the boxing dame game.
Councillors are demanding investigations into the extension given to the club, for the lease on the ground. After reports of missinformation.

While Dan Wooden leaves and drops to Step 5 for the Money?!

Meanwhile, nice to see Shitehawk struggling!

Maidenhead United 2-0 Wealdstone (Att: 1,282)

Can't complain about the result, the hosts just went up another gear in the second half and we couldn't cope. Goals coming from a deflected Dave Tarpey strike and Sean Marks. Their defensive record at York Road speaks for itself, Alan Massey leads their backline brilliantly and they get players back into position so quickly.

As for us, plenty of effort there but square pegs in round holes will always lead to problems against a side like Maidenhead.

Didn't go yesterday, but sounded like a typical game for us. Take the lead and offer nothing.

It's all building up to Dartford in the play off final...

With the discussions in the North thread about FT Clubs, how many are there in the South?

None, as far as I know, although we are practically full time. Training 3 days a week. Start of last season we announced we were in between PT and FT, whatever that is.

Jamie Day leaves Welling again, thought he may have learned that the grass isn't always greener. Can't begrudge him a role at a League One club though to be fair.

The guys a fucking idiot.

Wealdstone away Saturday. Won't be going, but don't fancy our chances to be honest.

Love how our match thread has been hijacked by people naming books to get through the 37 stops somebody needs to get there.

Having been at that game in September, I don't fancy our chances much on Saturday. Funny that!

A fairly in depth statement from Gosport Borough explaining the situation at the club. Worth a read - http://www.gosportboroughfc.co.uk/news/club-statement-1738584.html

Fair play to them for going into that length of detail, everything is well explained even if I think they're just papering over the cracks (solely my opinion). For the players they've signed I believe they're mainly local youth players with the exception of Rowan Vine who's been nomadically working his way through clubs on the South Coast these past couple of years. Gosport are in a relegation battle and they know it.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday it was announced that we've signed Liam Goulding permanently from Accrington Stanley, paying an undisclosed fee in the process. He's been superb the past couple of months he's been on loan with us, a young centre half (20) and is one player who could make the step up which are ultimately the club's aspirations. I don't know what's going to happen with training and potential relocation given he lives in the North West but I'm sure it's all in hand.

Good comeback from St Albans to get a 2-2 draw with Maidenhead. Over 1000 at Clarence park again. I would love to see them get a playoff place.

Buckle up you wankers, I want Maidstone down, not your shower of shit.
Don't you worry, we're coming down.
Our hapless bunch have lost 12 out of the last 16 games, with no sign of things changing anytime soon......we need a miracle to stay up!!
