Mighty Hayes tomorrow in our last friendly. Although Mills did say he may organise one more, maybe behind closed doors?

Lost 2-1 to Shortwood United last night. Mainly development and academy players plus Liam Noble, who again took his goal well, and Wade Elliott who is still on trial.
Think we've seen to last of the 18yo Dutch trialist.
Big French keeper looked ok, except for their goals which were both 1v1s from the same player within 1min and both times he stayed rooted to the goal line instead of coming out to cut the angle and use his big 7 foot wingspan. Bit odd.

I'm expecting a very tough game today, we'll need to perform far better than we did at Knaresborough on Tuesday.

Sounds like our ex keeper Mooney,he was 6ft 8 stayed rooted to line and couldn't get down for low shots, only big keeper seen at York any good was nick pope who has just signed for burnley for 1 million

It's our final pre-season game this afternoon as we host Stockport County. Sounds like we'll just be trying to avoid any injuries now and maybe have a look at a few more trialists.

Interested to see if Mackenzie Faulkner, Pa Sulay-Njie and Emmett O'Connor are still with us.

We're currently playing Solihull, we were 2-0 down after 17 minutes 2 ex-Harriers players scoring in Harry White and Stefan Moore. Now 3-2 up at half time, Mcquilkin Free-Kick, a header from Elton Ngwatala who is only like 5ft 8 and Arthur Gnahoua raced through to finish.

I know it's only a friendly but it's nice to see us going for games and making comebacks something we lacked a lot of last season.

Lincoln beating our 1st team 3-0 at half time. We are true my abysmal though. We will no doubt be residents here in the not so distant future.

We beat AFC Fylde 1-4 in their last game before moving to a new stadium. Cracking result that, but the big test is next week.

We beat Hyde (or possibly Hayes) 2-1

That means of our 9 friendlies we've won 8 and drawn 1. Twenty seven goals for, Five against.

Head and shoulders above everyone else. You may as well give us the title now.

Drew 0-0 with Crawley, we are now unbeaten in 3 all against league opposition and we've got one foot back in the football league. Can't wait until next Saturday when we begin our walking of this league

Definitely been promising. I really have a strong feeling Callum Powell is going to be huge for us, even if it's just bringing him on with 20 to go to blitz past tired defences. I don't think he'd mind that either as he's young and shouldn't expect a starting place, unlike York. Hopefully we do play a behind-doors friendly in the week to give players some more game time, especially McDonagh and Harrad.

I was impressed with him when I went to the Mold game. Much better than I expected. His pace will be a huge asset. I'm glad Bailey Nichols got a goal as well today, he looks very raw and is obviously down the pecking order but he certainly looks the business. I hope we actually nurture these young lads as they do all seem to have potential.

Easy 3-0 against Crewe. Marriott (2, 15) and Mudoon (30).

Could have had a couple more in the second half but we couldn't have asked for an easier game before the start of the season to be honest. Not sure Crewe managed a shot on target out of only 3 or 4 shots.

Yes I didn't expect him to be so direct when I saw him at Telford, but within 5 mins of coming on he skinned 2 players and then got chopped down, lightening pace, sounds like he can finish too.
I agree with Bailey-Nicholls, didn't see a lot of attacking threat from him vs Telford in the 2nd half but he worked hard and was strong on the ball, not blessed with pace though, which is understandable I guess when you see the tree trunks of thighs he has to carry around with him, he can definitely hit a ball though as was evident in shooting practice before the game.
Of all the youngsters he's the one I'm not expecting too much from early season.

Yeah he's behind all the others in experience. First year as a pro.

With all the additions this week I'm excited about this season. I think we may surprise a few people.

Completely agree. It's just finding a formation now that fits them all in, I'm glad I'm not Mills, I like to have width but also creativity in the middle, so I have no idea who to go with. It's a good problem to have though, didn't last season.

Won four three home to Newport. Couple of dodgy moments at the back let them in after we'd scored early but Chemlal and Tubbs excellent after they came on and won it at a canter in the end. Traore impressed again too but he will get fouled a lot if he keeps waltzing past players like he does.

We can attack brilliantly, but we can't defend for shit. Lots more 4-3's on the way.

We beat Stockport 2-0. That's 4 games on the bounce without conceding a goal. At least we know what our strength will be this season, if we could have found another striker then we'd be right up there.

What do Tranmere fans think of Darren Stephenson so far? He is very strong and lots of pace, first touch often let him down when at Chorley, great lad though.

Agree with that. Last season we really only had Frear who could excite when he had the ball at his feet, now it looks like we have Traoré, Chemlal, Noble and a rejuvenated Sinclair. The player who has impressed me in the pre-season friendlies is Pinnock who, despite making a step-up of several divisions, looks pretty comfortable in his new surroundings.

Better than last week Luke? How did the 3 debutants do?
