That's us out. I dare say that we may have been aiming for that outcome with a whole eleven changes..

Taking the piss now 7-5. Could have done with some of those goals at Shrewsbury and Charlton for my bet.

Over 1 goal in all piss pot games :bang:

Good win to make it six wins in eight now. Good to see Regis score on his debut considering we didn’t know about him until half six and Reeves to get a first for the club plus the a decent night for Anton Forrester after his injury nightmare.

Pointless competition and doubt anyone will lose sleep or be tugging either side of the M6 but keeps momentum and adds some competition for the first teamers.

Oh bloody hell, the cripples have actually done something bad for Mansfield and sent us through.

Still, like them being top of the league, anything is possible in football

75 Alex fans at Port Vale tonight. We'd have taken more for a friendly without a shadow of a doubt. Will easily be our lowest ever attendance at Vale Park for a competitive game.

As for the game, not good. Lost 4-2 to a second string Vale side and we had a reasonably strong team out, mostly guys that have been in and out of the team in recent weeks. Only positive was Lewis Reilly scoring 2 on his first senior start, but other than that, another shocker. Oh and the manager decided to play our main CB and our 2 main CMs for the full game for some stupid reason.

Only 2 of U23 sides definitely through. Another 3 could possibly qualify. A great success for all concerned.

EDIT
Saints 23s gone after pens, and a Carlisle win or draw will take care of Leicester.
Chelsea need to win to join Swansea and West Ham

540 people at Newport tonight for our dead rubber, with 34 from Cheltenham. We won 2-1, pocket £10k and say goodbye to this joke of a comp for another year.

Stoke and Man City still could qualify. By winning our ground we could have the disgraceful scenario of hosting the Lardies kids! Well I say that they generally play a few first teamers which makes the idea of it pointless!

Good win, but it's a bit meaningless. We have more important things to focus on like moving up the table. Great to record another win under the new regime though.

You're right. Didn't initially spot that they have only played twice. Could still end up with only 2 going through.

We all gone mad? Far too much talk in this thread about the games and good wins, the attendances shocking too.

Nobody should care who started or played unless they were subbed after two mins, and nobody should care if you win or lose.

Glad were out and glad only 75 made the 13 mile trip.

I actually can' believe there is Vale fans on Facebook laughing at our away following and calling us tinpot. Who are these people that support this farce.

Very decent if us to lose last night with our 11 changes and send the inbreds from up the A60 through, might give their expensively assembled squad a chance of actually winning something this season.

Happy with that outcome.

Adam is right anything is possible, for example perhaps the inbreds will finally build a fourth stand to make it a smart little proper stadium.

Or perhaps the hotel will be built first and the bus stop will remain lol

We made as many changes as we could last night, which was in keeping with the previous two games i.e. about 5 or 6 changes.

We only have two fit full backs, so they picked themselves last night. Raggett didn't play at the weekend, so he replaced Dickie who did, which left Waterfall getting some needed minutes.

Whitehouse came in at the expense of Woodyard, who then replaced Bostwick at HT. Ginnelly played who hasn't done for a while, Stewart made his first start since signing, Anderson came on having not played for 5 weeks and then Palmer played, too with Knott who'd sat out 3 games no long ago.

Only surprise was that Farman didn't start.

I thought Lincoln's twitter was an embarrassment last year with a 12 year old running it, but this tweet from last night is the biggest embarrassment of the lot, why do they just not get it?

Yes, because an official Twitter account is going to tweet, 'Attendance 3026 (178) - Why the fuck have you all turned up when there's supposed to be a boycott of this stupid competition, you absolute bunch of grapes'.

Use your noggin', you numpty. :ffs:

Because that would be the only alternative, obviously. :ffs:
