Pitch invasion for reaching the final of a tournament threatening to kill English football. Good one, lads.

l don't expect to see any Lincoln fans crying when that Chelsea u23 side ends up in their league.
We've committed to voting against the introduction of B teams. We've never been to Wembley in our 133-year history.

Lincolns non-existent creditably suffers further.

I'm so pleased that their first game in this tournament was a 3-1 win over a Mansfield reserve side and the 900 or so had a great night out in the lights of Nottinghamshire and have gone on so much from that.
Have Mansfield committed to voting against B teams?

Twice the attendance for Lincoln tonight against an U21 team in this joke format than they got against us when it was actually a proper competition at the same stage of the competition!

I think Lincoln will enjoy losing their Wembley virginity in this pile of shit competition about as much as I did losing mine, with the fattest bird on my college course. Awful

We've had crowds of 7/8/9k all season.

Which makes it odd... we've had 4-5000 most games but as with most clubs we were getting three figure crowds, not one other L1 or L2 club has sustained regular crowds in this at all.

We didn't get a vote on whether the Under-21s were invited so what would we be protesting against? Our board has said that they would vote against B teams entering the league if thy were asked. It's been said a million times before, but why shouldn't we support our team given we've no choice whether we play in it or not?

There is such a feelgood factor around the club that fans just want to watch us, regardless of the competition. It's great. I'm not naive enough to think it will last for ever, but Lincoln have been shit for most of the time I have been following them (mid-1990s) so I'm buggered if I'm going to let anyone else stop me enjoying the moment and getting to Wembley for the first time in our history.

A bad night for Notts, but selling out a semi-final against an Under 21 team in THAT competition is worse. Some things are bigger than winning or losing.

I think I know what's more embarrassing...:2thumb:

It's ok, you can take your anger out on us though. Completely rational. It must sting, getting gubbed 8-1 on national TV.

We voted for B teams. Our fans responded with pretty much the smallest attendance in our history when we hosted Everton Under 21s.

A club is its fans, not whoever happens to be its owner. You had a chance to make a point tonight and you didn’t.

It was completely unrealistic to expect a low crowd tonight, it just wasn't going to happen. But the whole point of the boycott is to get the message across to those people who will be voting, i.e. people in charge of the clubs. We've done that. I was the first person to admit my embarrassment at the big crowds in the group stage, but a semi final is very different. Given Coventry's recent troubles, didn't most give them a free pass for taking 43k to the final last year?

Lincoln is in a very unique situation at the moment where the whole club is on a high, having reached the QF of the FA cup, won the league, semi final of the FA Trophy and now in contention for promotion from L2 and our first ever visit to Wembley all within the last 18 months. Yes those newcomers who have come on board of the back of this success are a bit naive, but I can't see why you'd begrudge us our day out at Wmebley.

Coventry were playing Oxford in the final last year, I’ve got no issue with them having an amazing day out. Nor have I got any issue with you lot having an amazing day out against Yeovil or whoever it is you end up playing, or the crowds you’ve been getting in the league. I think that’s great.

But, for me, Lincoln fans had an opportunity to make a point tonight and to stand up for the rest of us. They didn’t. When it comes to justifying B teams next year and in the future, that crowd tonight will be used, no doubt about it.

If things go wrong for you in the next few years, for whatever reason, I wouldn’t expect much sympathy from the rest of us.

I think that's a bit over the top. I could understand the ire and anger if we were coming out saying we love the competition and will vote for B teams in the league system. But we're not. In fact you could make a case we're doing a lot more than other clubs who vote for B teams just because of the financial benefits. We've listened to our fans and will vote against. Ask yourself, will your club do that? Will Alan Hardy do that? Will John Shelton Fenty do that? Will Radford do that?

I’d like to think that Hardy will have listened to how fucked off our fanbase were when he voted for it and will take a different approach next year. But he may not.

Either way, there’ll be pretty much no one at Meadow Lane if we play a B Team, whatever stage of the competition, and that’s all we can do. I’ve had a go at you for tonight’s attendance, but the 3700 odd that came to the group game against Everton was just as bad.

It's called being happy to get to Wembley after 133 years of trying. Maybe the fans shouldn't have even clapped or cheered their own team in them winning?

All you had to do is look at that across the board for how fans think of this.

Our game earlier in the season attracted 2290 (I couldn't actually remembered who'd won). There's a chance of 15,000 there for our game next month? I wouldn't go to watch that crap if it was in my front garden

That said I've morales and standards.

Yeah but when fans of other clubs got there it was of a competition that was relevant. It's not even classed as a first game competition.

Technically you still won't have been to Wembley in a class A fixture.

Just out of interest do any of you Lincoln lot on here boycott, or were you boycotting and now attend or did you just never boycott at all?

I’ve attended all the games I could. I’ve given my reasons for not boycotting and so won’t bore people with it again

You know what, we aint been there in our history, we've all had loved ones who were Imps fans gone before us who never got to see their beloved team in the national stadium. I couldn't give a stuff and to us it will be a class a fixture which will stay with us.

That’s fine. You should all go to Wembley and have an amazing time. You shouldn’t have been there tonight.
