Our Friday fixture at home to bury was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch following downpours on the Wirral. A bit tinpot, but I suppose we do want the pitch looking pristine for our first league game!

Beat Glenn Dumpling's Rickay Galacticos 2-1 at their grand re-opening. How sad.

We just went down 2-0 to a strong Mansfield side. Both goals in the final 10 minutes in an otherwise close contest.

Its been a long pre season this year. One more on Tuesday and then its finally the real thing

We drew 1-1 at Chorley. Failed to take our many chances and missed a penalty. Pretty standard.

Beat Southend U21s 3 - 0 in a totally one sided contest. New signings fitting in well, and playing superb football, albeit just a training match. I think now is the time to officially announce, that the rest of you are now scrapping it out for the 6 play off spots, as the title is ours.

Hot day which lead to a bit of a drab game. Neither team seemed to have much energy or zest.
Now lets get on with the real thing

Decent workout v Wrexham, not sure why so many expected regulars were "missing". Wrexham clearly were quicker on the ball and were the better side, very good penalty save by Matt Urwin who looked very competent in goal for the Magpies. Outstanding strike for the equaliser by Meppen Walter who still looks unfit and at least a stone overweight, but boy can he strike a free kick!
Looking forward now to the trip to Kidderminster next Saturday and Salford at home the following Tuesday.

Lost 2-0 against Blackpool. Didn't play very well although Blackpool were pretty good. The standard of defending for their goals was a little worrying

Ebbsfleet got soundly beaten at home to Wimbledons' under 16s. Relegation battle on the cards for the free spending billionaires from over the hill, methinks.

Beat Middlesbrough 2-1 last night in what was a really good second half display. Munns looks the real deal and Connor Newton looks a good capture in midfield. Still not hugely convinced about how we're set up going forward but there's plenty to work with in the squad so hopefully tweak one or two things.

Bad result drawing 1-1 with Whitley bay today though, trialists apparently poor and players going through the motions. Not the best idea if the very likely first choice XI played the previous night

Munns looked good for Cheltenham the season before last too.

What a crap day overall!

Still annoyed they switched the game over to the poksy 3G cage instead of the actual stadium.
Pissed with rain the entire fucking match
And
Lost 5-0 in what is seemingly our final pre season game as Southall is now cancelled!

Can't even remember us having a single shot on goal. Leatherheads goals were easy except the 5th which I must say was a cracking finish.

Leatherhead just had a little kick about today whilst most of our team were in a whole new universe with the fairies. Good luck to Leatherhead for the forthcoming season can't take nothing away from them the result was what we deserved just most were easy goals!

Onto Aylesbury in the league in a couple of weeks at home-- which one I have no clue! Lets Get the show started....hopefully in better circumstances than today. Dunno if the club plan to maybe squeeze 1 more friendly in tho 2 weeks seems a long time.

I take it I didn't miss much. Do you think we have a chance of toppling Sal£ord on Saturday.
With this performance?

Once again another very respectable result against another decent team.

Reason why, Mansfield have been installed as firm favorites with most betting firms across the board to take the League 2 title, and that's ahead of the likes of Luton, Coventry, Lincoln and Swindon.

Your defense looked very competent and well organised. Brown, Marrs and Ferguson stood out for me. I haven't seen Salford this pre season so can't comment on them.
You should be up there though.

Yes. I didnt go yesterday but the consensus is it was a very strong performance and we were unfortunate to lose. Interesting test on Tuesday now. Can we actually put a inferior team to the sword. the one thing we havent done this pre season.

Diamonds won 5-1 "away" against Rushden & Higham. Honsetly it's a very "meh" result. Our manager spoke about giving others a chance in the last couple of friendlies, but the team saw few changes and we're looking at quite a settled squad. Probably see a few more changes for our first home game at Kempston on Wednesday, before we have an away game at Corby on Friday.

Missed the Boro game but went to Whitley Bay, first half was okay, should've been a few in front, second half was a lot worse, about 80% of that team won't start against Dover so I'm not overly concerned, only thing that does worry me about this team is the lack of pace throughout, Featherstone looks like he is carrying a few extra clem (to be expected being a couple of weeks behind everyone else) I also wouldn't pursue any more interest in the remaining trialists on that showing, Mondal didn't looked arsed, Franks looked like the same Franks that left 3 years ago and Sadiki was like a white Toto, the lad from Boro Maloney might be worth another look but we've got midfielders coming out of our ears right now.

It seems as though interest in Blackford from Rangers has cooled so I'd much rather see him get more game time this year than us signing Mondal or Franks, nice to see Rodders get his first 15 mins of pre season, but I reckon we're not going to be seeing much of him this year, especially if Harrison is going with one upfront.

In today's NLP it states the game between Highgate and Enfield Town yesterday was to mark the 50th anniversary of lightening victim Tony Allden. It states Enfield Town are Enfields successors . I always thought it was the other Enfield team 1893. What is right ?

We've had a strange pre-season barely won a game. Suppose it's from next weekend that only matters but I'm more than a bit worried as we have a tough start on paper.

Pre season means absolutely nothing. I would be surprised if you didn't finish in the top two this season.

who you got 1st? :devil::devil:
we're a taller more physical - but better passing side than last season.... and have a guy who can put throw ins on the penalty spot from the half way line - so should be interesting....

I would be surprised if we did finish in the top two. From the outside it looks better than it is. I think about 5th again for us.

We needed to get a better keeper and full backs but we've not done that. We let Benson and Guttridge go who were vital at many points last season. Experience is key in this league. Also expect many offers for our players before the window shuts.
