When you signed chambers bought you’d walk this league, week later lost 2 big players?

I wasn't confident we would walk it. Felt more confident than I do now. I'll still wait to see how we replace him as Chambers and Williams will replace Sonupe but Croasdale will be a big loss.

£50,000. We could be making a lot from transfer fees this summer. Sonupe gone, Horsfall could be going for £200,000 and now this. Really frustrating though. I get he wants to step up but Fylde...really?
Well they brought Dan Bradley from us for 50k and that was their club record then. Si has to be higher than that.

There's added bonuses and a big sell of fee. That probably pushes it over but right now it's £50,000

Croasdale is a big hit for us. My player of the season last year, breaks up play well and generally a good passer of the ball. Was outstanding when he played a deeper role, aswell as an advanced role and chipped in with a few goals.

Sonupe leaving was a miss, his unpredictability and pace will be hard to replace, but he is definitely more replaceable.

If Horsfall leaves for 200k, then so be it. 200k at this level is crazy money and if we can't rebuild our team for the season with potentially over £250k coming in, then that's the clubs fault.
I do have faith in Gordon that he has learnt from previous seasons and I think we'll continue to be intelligent about our activity in the transfer market.

Impressed by all of our 3 signings so far too, all coming with good reports from previous clubs which is always nice to hear.

It seems every summer clubs at this level have to cope with the loss of key players and managers etc. I guess that's just football. Last year we had to deal with the loss of our only real attacking threat in Danny Lloyd, and probably the best midfielder in the division on Lewis Montrose.

Lloyd's goals we manage to replace with Oswell and Warburton, the former though also looks set for pastures new after a free scoring season.

We've also lost Jimmy Ball this summer to Stevenage which is another big loss. He played a pivotal role in our late season form and scored some key goals.

Gannon has so far signed Frank Mulhern and Nyal Bell to bolster the forward line, but neither of these strike me as the kind of striker who's going to get 20+ goals next season.

Jordan Keane has been brought in as a defensive midfielder, and Conor Dimaio as a creative attacker. Only time will tell if these lads will be capable of being as good as if not better than those departed.

See Darlo have signed Jonny Burn who was on loan for 6 months at York,
Glad we didn’t offer him a contract never looked comfortable with any centre back pairing.only saving grace for Darlo other 2 were absolute shit as well.

Listening to York fans, all of your players were crap apparently. I blame your clueless manager.

I'm sure that Burn will do well for Darlo.

No not all, centre half’s and central midfielders were all crap last season.
Of which 5 of them were signed by mills and only one signed by Gray was Burn so you have answered your own question.
Darlo fans are obsessed about Gray,I think he is a descent manager and will do a good job.

To be honest I'm glad Gillies has done one, he was one of our laziest players.
I'm glad TW has seen through him, sick to death of shouting at him through lack of interest he showed most games. As for a class act on his day, they were few and far between.

!
Thought you had numpty tendencies and this proves it. Worked harder than given credit for just didn't waste energy on lost causes. We will do very well to replace his goals and assists. Dont think it is a case of Wright seeing through him at all. Very good signing for South Shields.

On Jansen's Twitter, he has said he was 'forced' into resigning.
Some reports are saying he asked for a new contract but we didn't want to pay him more as cannot afford it. Others are suggesting it has something to do with our CEO Dave Riche, who has recently been in the shit for fat shaming some women on his Instagram just months after banning a long term fan for sexism. Our official website has said that there was an irreversible disagreement between Jansen, the hierarchy and the CEO. Honestly no-one has a clue what has gone on. This makes our club look very unprofessional, we need an official statement to clear up what's happened IMO.
Not many names have been thrown around yet but Graham Barrow has been suggested.

"Will do a good job" - He joined you in October and you still failed to make the play-offs with one of the biggest budgets in the league.

You've also got 6 strikers on the books for nexxt season. Man loves a centre forward. Good luck, as you will need it.

They were jizzing themselves at the thought of him somehow becoming our manager before Bates got it.

You’d think they’d love him after he got them promoted about 5 times.

Been confirmed that vermiglio is our new manager. Good appointment imo as it will not disrupt the preparation as much because of his knowledge of the squad and also that he will bring positive football to the squad

Not sure.

If, as I think, the Academy job is a FT one then I doubt it.

Look, I am a Gray fan. He won us 3 promotions in 5 seasons, with the other two seasons both resulting in a play-off position finish. His style of football was effective, if sometimes difficult to watch. Things went stale at the beginning of his 6th season, in some aspects you can mitigate for this, in some you cannot.

What gets most Darlo fans is the perceived ungratefulness shown by Gray for the fans' efforts. "Laughing stock", "rattling buckets" are words in particular that spring to mind. He also tried to introduce Raj Singh in May 2017, a man who almost killed the club, in order to go full-time and increase his budget.

MG was constantly given a very good budget to work with at DFC. Fans have raised over £1 million for the club over the past 5/6 years. The last budget Gray had was his largest, and was way more than what we could afford (the budget has since been cut twice following his departure). He also seemed to have an over-excessive coaching team (resulting in increased expenditure), something which York fans seem to have picked up on.

I wish Gray the very best though. He did get us up the leagues and did so very well. Interesting season ahead for York, they haven't strengthened in the way in which I thought they would. They need to really hit the ground running with the way that they finished last season.

Pleased that Vermiglio has been given the job at Chorley, gives us continuity and I believe we will attack more and play more attacking football .

Hahaha! Me having a lack of knowledge, I've seen Josh Gillies since 2016 when he made his debut at Altrincham, in which he was fantastic for the season of 2016/17!

But you can't tell me he wore his heart on his sleeve in the season just gone, well you can't really you've probably only seen him a few times? But let's face facts he was useless in the Autumn/Winter months, he was taken off more times than i can remember and even by Scott Fenwick!

Worked harder seriously, and yes you haven't seen much of him that's definite. Tracking back was never his forte, no doubt we will do well to replace his contribution? But honestly I'm glad we've offloaded him to Shields & with a bit of cash, for both parties a good deal.

Obviously TW thought the same for Gillies, good luck to him at Shields i hope he does well.

At least you grew some balls and posted for once instead of sitting on the fence :bye:

No surprises their with Fraser Horsfall, he's very good. I bet Salford City are absolutely seeing red having previously been on-loan with them.

We did love him, in fact we worshipped the ground he walked on. And then he showed us the kind of person someone really is rather than what the person seems to be.

Brackley have lost defender Alex Gudger to a 'better financial offer' from Solihull Moors, despite him having already signed on for the season. I look forward to all the know it all experts once again explain how we're a bankrolled club with a top budget....

Now lost our only good striker, and 2nd best defender. So far signed a midfielder / defender from Bigglewade Town I've never heard of, and have zero strikers on the books.

I had hoped we'd build from last year and maybe if we were 10% better, we could have a real go at top spot, as there isn't a clear favourite in the league this year, unlike the last two years.

But we're going backwards currently...

Scott Burton confirmed for us after his departure from Salford. Very happy with that.

Believe the next one in will be Gary Stopforth, but waiting for that to be confirmed.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Last few players Curzon wanted to keep seem to have signed up so think Curzon good to go now, got the team and squad sorted.

Looking like they will keep all passing approach but now have a two big guy lump it fallback.

As usual from Flanagan correct additions needed from last years struggles....both full backs replaced which were our weak areas, very experienced strong spine but now two proper wide attack players (had none nearly all last season until last months)

Can now easily play 3-5-2, 5-3-2, 4-3-3, 4-4-2, and others if needed. Now most of side experience conf north level players.

Not gonna challenge the top, but with 60 season ticket sales and 150 crowds that is expected.........but we look miles more solid than 12 months previous when losing many to rivals and rebuilding.

Chester have signed John Pritchard from Ashton United

He scored two really smart free kicks against us last season, from just outside the box. I don't recall much about him defensively (we did put 9 past them in 3 games).
