Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Late reply but looking at them fixtures that is a mammoth start for Curzon, tough tough ask with some very hard games.....although if i were fair this season seems to not have strong favorites so makes many games look tough.

Hope to get to some of the home games, but have to wait until Staly fixtures come out, but will get to Chester game. My one hope as such an advantage for us over most we play in August is our team has been settles a long team, nearly all them clubs apart from Hereford will have had big re-build jobs, maybe we can catch a few early when thier sides have not gelled.

Ashton derby boxing and new years day......will be vital games for both clubs.

We've signed 19 year-old Dan Mooney on loan from Fleetwood. He was at Chorley last season - any comments from Chorley fans?

To be honest, Mooney was another of the Jansen signings last season who was never given a decent chance, only played part games as a sub and only a few of them, seems to be a gifted footballer, may need time to settle at this level, bit on the small side. Good luck to the lad, hope he does well for you.

Thanks. I understand he's a left-sided player and as we only have one other, there's a chance he'll get plenty of opportunities.
We have several promising youth players who are on the 'small' side, so he probably won't look out of place. :)

Yes he did operate on the left when he came on in our games, he is quick but as I said we didn't really see enough of him to make a proper judgement.

Excited about next season. New manager who wants to play positive football and a very competitive league with about 12 teams who can challenge for the title. Can't wait to see Elliot newby. If he's the better Newby then he's going to be amazing!

I see Guiseley have signed defender Cliff Moyo after his release from FC Halifax. Russ and Clayts have quietly put together a very competent squad at Guiseley.

I think it should be competative, time will tell on that front. I'm hoping for a minimum of mid table after such a rebuild anything more is a bonus. Build for a push next season.

My sympathy to Guiseley who appear to have Lucas Dawson on trial.

Bignot's getting the band back together.

If he still sports a beard he may be the triallist who played second half last night although he didn't look 6'2". All I can remember him doing was tripping a Bradford player to prevent a break away!

Baxendale has been confirmed. Think he'll be a backup next season.

Surprised at that. I know he had a trial at Southport earlier in preseason. Needs to beef himself up for this level. Too lightweight

We had a midfield of Croasdale, Mcquilkin, Weeks and Ngwatala. All about 5ft 7 so he should fit in with us :2thumb:

Blyth Spartans have added former Middlesbrough, York City and Spennymoor Town striker Bradley Fewster to the squad. The 22-year-old is Alun Armstrong's fourth summer signing.

Not sure what’s happened to him absolute outstanding for us 3 years ago in league but done nothing since.

A long shot I know, but would anybody happen to know the name of Spennymoor’s number 10?

He’s a striker. I watched Guisborough vs Spennymoor last week as I was up that way visiting friends.. anyway he looked a cut above anyone else on the field and scored a couple of great finishes.

EDIT: Turns out it’s Robert Ramshaw. Good player someone should take a punt on him.

Billy Daniels has signed for us. Can only imagine he's gonna be a backup. Does anyone remember playing against him while he was at Nuneaton?

Apparently we have former Chester,Dover and Telford player Kane Richards on trial.

Was with us for nearly 3 seasons and never realised his potential. His high point was scoring the 3rd in our 3-2 win over Wrexham .. that was about it. He went missing and failed to turn up for matches on occasions. His last season he regressed considerably and because he was an arrogant so and so we were glad to see the back of him. He was regularly not even in the match day squad at Dover

I'm actually quite local to Guiseley and it seems Bignot is recruiting pretty well. I won't pretend I know *too* much about many teams in the division but what chances do Guiseley have of going straight back up?

I don’t think he’s regressed as such, but certainly hasn’t progressed on from the initial promise. I think he’s a decent signing at this level. He was probably punching a little above his weight the league above but had his moments. He’s got some pace and will cause panic, will certainly win free kicks and be a nuisance.

Annoyingly he’s full of loose touches though, he’s never really grown up and fine tuned that aspect of his game. What will frustrate is how easily he gets wound up, start a fight in a phone box sort of character.

Mr Fewster appeared in our team photo shoot last season, so i assumed we'd signed him? But a wealthy club came along and started whispering sweet nothings in his ear, he fell in love with Spendymoor! And did nothing.

Rob Ramshaw he started his career with us, he's an attacking midfielder. A lot of clubs won't be able to afford him, he's a type of player primarily motivated with only in the amount of money that he can personally gain out of the club. He'll be on big bucks at Spennymoor.

The worry for Guiseley is the faith Bignot is seemingly showing in a number of players who featured heavily for us last season, undoubtedly the worst I've ever seen of us. Halls and James are signed on and Dawson is on trial. Halls in particular seems to have become a right gym buff since his Macc days and only got bigger as the season progressed with us. Having seen a few pics of Guiseley’s friendly the other night the lad has only expanded even more since.

I doubt any of these are coming particularly cheap either.
