Played very well for them but been sometimes out with injury.

I’d say they would want him the issue will be wages (Staly had a 40% wage drop this season)

I’d say that for certain Alfreton will sack their manager tonight, so might Darlo both probably will try for Flanagan.

At moment I wish it were Staly after Flanagan, they are utter dire at present

We were lucky the game was played today, if it rained during the match it would have had to be stopped. Fair play to Telford, they coped far better than Alty did with conditions in first half and looked a very decent side, giving our defence plenty to do. Played in the right spirit throughout, even the ref was decent. After an hour Telford tired and we started to get on top. Second half our keeper didnt make a save but that shows how well he was protected as Telford played well at times but couldnt hurt us. The last 20 mins it became a question of how many would we score as we cut them open at will, missed a couple of one on ones and Telford keeper was quality. Up to 3rd now and anything is possible now  So un-Alty !

Jesus, the lad's gonna have a stroke.
Haha. I know I go on rants on here. Passionate about the club thats all.

Tonight I fear for the future of the club. Real risk of our chairman walking away which means kiss goodbye to National League North.
Possibly the club may struggle to carry on at all.

This has been on the cards for a number of weeks. An horrendous turn out of just 235.

The worst home league defeat in the clubs history.

A bad,bad day for the club.

Players certainly without blame however the way their heads went down was astrcious.

Wont be attending on Tuesday in the County Cup and wont be attending again to Mr Heath has gone at least...

Didn't go today as in Scotland babysitting, but according to the match commentary and Deva Chat we were reffed out of it. Soft penalty given for Stockport's equaliser and 2 similar shouts for us ignored. Still a point's decent I suppose.

Absolute disgrace the ref, cost us two points.

Can't believe I've just seen us play with Deane Smalley in central defence, madness. He coped pretty well after a shaky first five minutes in there.

Ok then who is going first

Billy Heath or Tommy Wright?

Oooosh, our conversation (if you remember it) back in August, where we both massively over-estimated our clubs chances for this season (which you do annually, to be fair) seems a long time ago now.

Right now finishing 4th bottom would be a result for us. The fans have lost interest, there is no money, I don't have the foggiest where we go next. We're back to only having 11 senior players in the match day squad again, we are wafer thin when we have a handful of injuries. We can't defend, we can't score.

I'd hope Wright resigns because we can't afford to sack him.

At least you have the luxury of a chequebook chairman.

Ashley Hemmings to Alty on loan from Fylde - any thoughts Boston / Fylde fans?

Fuck me he's shit hot.

That's the last thing we need to hear as we face you in a couple of weeks.

He didnt start as we have a young lad Callum Mantack on the left wing who just joined us but is doing really well, he should have scored today, but with 10 mins to go we took him off and brought Hemmings on and he made one goal and looked class. Just for amusement Telford brought Daniels on at the same time (who was with us on loan at the start) and he was anonymous, like he was for us. We have the strongest bench I have ever seen and 3 of our best players not even in the squad !

Entertaining game today, if not exactly full of quality. Up until about 70 mins I would have said Chester deserved the win, but we created a few opportunities to get a winner late on, so on balance a draw was probably a fair result.

Chester look a good side and I can see why they are near the top. That Asante in particular looked really good - exactly the sort of striker we desperately crave if we're going to persist in playing one upfront. Chester seem to have followed every other Morley and Johnson side we have come up against in specialising in spectacular faux-outrage theatrics whenever so much as a throw-in doesn't go their way. Officials must find it really tedious.

Compared to some recent home league draws, today's was one of the better ones as we actually created decent chances. However, given that I've resorted to ranking our draws shows just how very bang average we are, especially at home. And now it appears none of the cup run money will go into the playing budget, it doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon.

Of course I remember it.
If results such as today persist we might not have a "cheque book chairman" as you call him for much longer!

As our chairman admitted himself in todays programme notes our seasons continue to take a similar path season after season. Their are issues behind the scenes for us clearly. We sign competent players but for whatever reason they just dont perform, sign elsewhere and then show their true potential

Serious question here Quakerz, do you think the fan owned model has took Darlo as far as it can go? Or has the funds invested in manager/players been done so poorly?

Has fan owned model taken us as far as we can go. At the moment... probably yes. The 5 year season tickets make it hard to create a guaranteed budget without going back out to fans for things such as boost the budget.

In addition any improvement would have to be further funded by income which we just don't seem to have atm. Gates aren't amazing, the commercial side has been under performing previously and we have a ground which costs us 60k in year to rent but provides us no further income.

Any improvement on the pitch needs to be funded in addition if we were to get up to the National League we would need to make further extensive improvements to Blackwell Meadows for it to be compliant.

With current crowds (only just over 1,000 there today) then I think this is it, this is our ceiling.

Let's not forget that the fans put in 86k this season to boost the budget as well, and it seems that we are still way short of what is needed.

Listening to the rumours, we haven't been performing as well as we forecasted commercially - although we've taken on a full time commercial guy to rectify this.

The deal we have to play at Blackwell apparently really isn't a good one for the club with minimal income for the club.

To make matters worse we had to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to go towards relocating and getting the ground up to standard (and to cover seasonal shortfalls in income) - one of the ways we achieved this was by selling 5 year season tickets. So effectively each season until these STs run out, we are doing without a significant chunk of income.

Your chairman of course said that we will end up with the club which we deserve - essentially he is right, a club is only going to be as good as it's support - but I'm still glad we are struggling without his help.

What a sorry state of affairs, I could be completely wrong here and feel free to correct but it sounds like the move back to Darlo has been a bit of a disaster? Where's the council support in all this, do they not want a football team for the town?

I genuinely do hope you get sorted and we can resume/restart a rivalry, no matter how much they try Gateshead just doesn't cut it.

Not with our attack..... #depressing season

Wasn't able to go unfortunately but seems our fans are saying you're a shadow of the team you've been in the past 2 seasons. We made mistakes but your front line failed to punish them.

Happy with the clean sheet and win, now onto Curzon in 2 weeks.

Problem was we were rushed into the move back to darlo. Bishop Auckland didn't have enough capacity to allow us to stay in the conference north. As such we had to move back to darlo before 31 March of our first season in the Conference North. Mowden rugby club and the arena weren't interested in having us as tenants. So we were left with Blackwell and they subsequently had us over a barrel.

Council aren't really interested in us. We play with the wrong shaped ball unfortunately. Showed mild interest in getting us back into town. But now we're back have literally no interest in our survival.

Really would love to renew rivalry with pools, there was no game like it. Unfortunately we'll been looking at avoiding dropping out the trap door rather than gaining promotion.

Another good win today. Telford were as good as any side I've seen this season, a bit hoofy maybe. We never beat Telford, I'm starting to believe.

They have some weirdo fans though, spending both halves in the home ends.

Regarding Morley and Johnson, the Salford documentary didn’t paint them in the best light and it was carefully edited. Everyone loves to hate them and I didn’t know what to expect when they were appointed but after getting to know them better and conversing with them a bit I can genuinely say they are two great down to earth lads who have time for anyone and just love a bit of banter.

We love them, I think most would if they were on your side actually. I think today the ref was so bad for us for the first 80 minutes that even the small things like taking throw ins from the wrong place got people going. We were just all fed up with the clown.

Terrible crowds all round. I thought the home and away support at our game was poor but hadn't seen the rest at the time.

I'm hoping by the time I've written this Tommy Wright will have packed his bags and fucked off? I don't care where to just fuck off out of our club, what a moron. I saw some ugly scenes at the end of the match that we shouldn't have to witness at our beloved football club. It's beginning to get out of hand now at the club, something has to give way?

As for the football i didn't think we played to badly today, saying that Nuneaton were one of the worst teams I've seen this season. I can see why they are bottom of the league.
Once again chances went begging that really should have been dealt with in the first half, and a fine debut from young Kokolo who was very impressive.

It was good to see Brian Little managed to get a pic with him. So it's onwards to Chorley in which we should get a good hiding (4-1 ring any bells).
