Our worst performance of the season - poor today. And not good enough to grind something out. Only got 14 players, and they looked lackluster. Crap goalkeeping for goal 1, and thought Lewis should have saved the second too, albeit I was someway away from it. So frustrating - if we could just have last year's league season this year. Keep waiting for us to 'click' but coming to believe we won't.
You're Brackley, nobody cares. Oh wait, now you're Telford? This is why fans of REAL clubs have no time for Tin Potters. :ds:

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle

I think the point is that since that ridiculous removal of John Flanagan has made him available a few Darlio fans like Alfreton fans are thinking it may be the opportunity to change manager as they feel the perfect replacement is currently free.

Not sure if Flanagan will ditch the manchester area i think he's always managed around here but he'd get the resources at both. I wouldn't be surprised if Flanagan maybe ended up at FCUM or Stalybridge if their current managers flop (and starting to go wrong at Staly presently)

We were poor today. It was clear that Boston's keeper was shite but we didn't test him at all in the first half. The referee had no clue how to ref the game, poor for both sides
Keeper as our best player
A point more than I expected. A better game now Jansen isn't stifling you as they used to be turgid horrible games with one notable exception.
Just a shame we got done again by a set piece

Embarrassing. Billy Heath`s position is untenable.

He has simply run out of ideas and has clearly loss the dressing room.

We looked like a total rabble today. Eleven individuals. No team spirit or structure or a plan.

Hereford were poor and almost managed to somehow not beat us!

Heath OUT!!! Ready made astute in this league awaiting in John Flanagan

Biggest thing for me was not one die hard fan in the away end could make a case for Billy continuing. Says it all.
Keep him in until after new years day!

Haha! You normally beat us no matter the manager/form!

Just seen the form guide over the last 10 games. Rock Bottom with 5 points mustered.

Jesus.

The frustrating thing AGAIN though is we have a ok squad at this level. It just needs to be managed tactically correctly!

Dunno, but Asante looked a cut above this league. Looks like Chester have discovered a hidden gem.

He's on loan from the mighty Tamworth for 28 days, but the word is they want him off the books because he's shite.

We've sent Joel Taylor out on loan. Can only mean that Ben O'Hanlon is signing very soon Darlo On Tour

He's a good lad Ben O'Hanlon and still learning, I assume it should be soon he was left out of the team on Saturday against Chester. He was on the bench but came on in the second half.

Ashton United 0-2 Alfreton Town

Well a much needed to say the least 3 points and a clean sheet tonight.

A pretty poor game frankly. We awful yet again in the first half and lucky to not come in at the break but took control of the game second half.

Adam Curry has slotted in superbly at the back. Hope we are able to extend his loan deal from Hull until the end of the season.

An very low turnout of just 154 including 25 from Alfreton.

The lowest crowd in the National League North this season and the lowest crod I have been a part of.

Still not convinced with Billy at all. Strange tactical/personnel choices continue to be made.

Anyway on to Saturday and the visit of Spennymoor and finally a chance to see Danny O Brien brought in from the Finnish top flight were he has scored 17 goals in 18 this season. Quite some pedigree...

Probably why the mighty Tamworth went through the trap door if he wasn't playing for them. I can't imagine Asante going back to Tamworth once his loan spell is up. He'll surely work his socks off for a permanent move, also Johnson/Morley will get the best out of him.

One thing's for sure he's definitely not shite. It's the other way round Tamworth are shite.

Ashton's crowd last night must be a contender for the lowest ever crowd in this league. They must be getting some £££ help from somewhere.

Neither Ashton team is back rolled from what I gather, both have about 200 fans.

Tough on Ashton last night with Man City showing in every local pub.

The lack of a backer, crowds for this level and league position is why Curzon sacking Flanagan had such a backlash across non league football.

Jimmy Ginnelly is the new permanent manager at Nuneaton Borough after the departure of Lee Fowler earlier today

Ginnelly did a superb job at Barwell on very little resource. That is a great appointment with an eye to next season at Step 3

At last we've actually signed a player, 18-year-old left winger/left back Williams Kokolo on a work experience loan from Sunderland. That surely paves the way for Ben O'Hanlon to join Kidderminster Harriers.

Fixtures for Saturday 8 December 2018 National League North.

Alfreton Town vs Spennymoor Town
Altrincham vs AFC Telford United
Blyth Spartans vs Ashton United
Boston United vs York City
Bradford (Park Avenue) vs Southport
Darlington vs Nuneaton Borough
FC United Of Manchester vs Curzon Ashton
Guiseley vs Hereford
Kidderminster Harriers vs Brackley Town
Leamington vs Chorley
Stockport County vs Chester

Bang in form Alty have another opportunity to show us why they are heading in the right direction with a tough game against another team riding high in AFC Telford. And Bradford have a glorious chance of pulling further clear if they can overcome Southport.

The other team in flying form is Blyth Spartans who should do us a favour in beating Ashton United. Tough games for the likes of Chorley, Chester and Kidderminster.

As for us, well, it's shit or bust against Nuneaton Borough, serious trouble if we can't muster a win against the bottom club. I've lost faith in Tommy Wright as a manager, as well as most fan's have i would imagine. Whether he can get me back on board is another matter. It could be his last game?

Alfreton host Spennymoor tomorrow.

Spenny have suffered defeat once in their last 10.
Alfreton 2 wins in 11.
I expect it to go to the form book and Billy to go. Tuesday while it was a win there was little improvement over the 90 minutes.

Tomorrow we host Anglo-welsh club Chester FC to Edgeley Park.

Last weekends defeat to Barnet was certainly disappointing but on the balance of play we left with heads held high and to rapturous applause from the 1700 travelling Hatters.

Chester have been on good and consistent form this season (Bar the madness of Blyth) and will certainly provide to be a tough test.

Should be a big gate i'd imagine. Certainly over 4,000 is Chester travel well.

No idea what the score will be. Hopeful of a good game and a positive scoreline!

We're no more anglo-welsh than you are, lol; I hope the GMP can behave themselves tomorrow.

You randomly posting about us again then?
You'd think after spending the last 2000 years protecting them from the marauding Welsh hordes that they'd be more appreciative. Especially from southerners whose track record against invaders from the continent is pretty poor. :)

Living rent free in another head.

He was moaning like fuck last season when they were shite. At least they'll stop our beloved neighbours from gaining promotion.

Fcum have signed DSL favourite Chris sharp from stalybridge.

A weird one since I’ve seen him most of this season at either Curzon or Staly the guy does a lot of good stuff but is totally ineffective as a striker not sure Staly will fully miss him so surprised he’s off up a level.

Worked hard at Staly will give him that

Since you've been watching Stalybridge Dave, any word on how James Caton is doing there? Any hope of them signing him permanently in Jan. Pretty much all of Darlo want him off our payroll as he's apparently on a packet.
