Stockport have a choice here, they go down the Wrexham route and lob a load of cash at the shiniest thing they can see with no thought at how it might work at this level. Or they get the best this level has to offer and stick with it.

Challinor is the obvious choice, although you must consider you’ve still got to visit BP and he’ll be lucky to get himself out of there in one piece.

You boys are gonna have to get promoted if you wanna see DC again.

Seeing a few shots getting fired at us here by the usual suspects. The Halifax madman is having a dig.

Accusations of arrogance for telling people who we're interested in. We don't make up the rumours

We're asking for Challinor, Appleton etc, it's not an opinion it's a fact. My opinion is we'll get the knocks backs and go for Phil Parkinson at Alty who is rumoured to have applied. That's my stab in the dark. Don't see how that is arrogance

Maybe Parkinson has applied, I don't know.

There have been times in the past where he's become a little prickly at some very mild / polite criticism from Alty fans. Ours is a very vanilla fanbase IMO, and he's basically had four years of idolatry here. How he would get on in the viper's nest that is EP I don't know.

Maybe he'd be fine and it'd be the making of him.

The Main Stand behind the dugouts at E.P has the nickname Moan Stand for good reason. Gannon even copped plenty. If he's not thick skinned, yeah wouldn't be for him.

Stockport could do a hell of a lot worse than go for West Ham legend Alan Devonshire.

Haha as much as I'd hate playing against them, I'd love to see Devonshire have a go at managing a BELT.

Heard Phil Brown was seen fishing in the River Mersey earlier. Make of that what you will

He's Mr Angry.

I'm sure Stockport are currently thinking about how their appointment will be received in the Grimsby area. Top of their criteria that'll be.

Seriously? So who is spouting that then?

I don’t think any of us on here expect us to win the league.
Now Rusk is gone, there's absolutely nothing stopping Stockport from charging up the league. Grimsby will have their chance in the playoffs, but 2 brothers have never gone up from this league in the same season (seriously, it's never happened) so we'll have one of Boreham Wood or Bromley in League 2 next season.

Thats a real interesting fact, Could it be broken this time.
You hear supporters calling the NatLeague all the time

But its got some really talented managers.
I think thats something Stockport need to think about seriously.

The run in this season is going to be superb for the neutral.

Just throwing this out there, but Jim Gannon always said his childhood hero was Devonshire at West Ham...

Just imagine JG in charge with AD as assistant/DoF... ooooooooh

Hurst the latest to be linked by an ITK on our board.

“Hurst is interested in the job not sure how interested we are in him”.

Brilliant. Could massively unsettle the Mariners before today’s game.

Unless you mean Glynn Hurst.

Challinor on Stockport job speculation: "I was odds on favourite for the Tranmere and Wrexham jobs over the summer and nothing happened there. "There's nothing to report, yet."

In fact the last minute of his radio interview after the match seemed to me like he wasn't against the idea and finished with 'if there's any news from myself, the club, then obviously press will be first to know, but there is no news at the moment'

Could've dismissed it outright there and then but didn't, consider me slightly more worried than I was a few days ago :ohm:

Big pay rise, long contract big budget, back to the north west. All seems plausible.

Well considering how things worked out last time he had a big budget, I'm not sold

Do enjoy the schadenfreude, though

Aye they've got us beat on all fronts there, who would you rather work with, Quigley and Madden or Mike 'fucking' Fondop.

Is there not a chance he's paying politics with the club, wanting a new contract or bigger budget or summat

He's just signed a new 3 year contract about a month ago, not that contracts are worth the paper there written on, I'm just gonna put it down to anger at getting humped today...

The comments look bad but his team have just been humped 5-0, said it was the worst performance he's ever been associated with or something like that. He could just be majorly pissed off, maybe another disagreement with the owner, maybe sending a warning saying back me or lose me?

Either way slightly worrying comments but I really think he can go somewhere a lot better than this if he bides his time
