Only club i've ever known that uses the fact that their stadium is shit as a plus point.

How does 6,000 in a 17k seater look?

Wouldn't know how does it look in a 23k seater?

Interesting, considering that was a good average for you for you in the 90s & 00s, let us know in a couple of weeks.

..and I don't know, didn't go on our Football League Trophy games.

You seem to be spending a lot of time in the league 1 section, save that for next season.

We used to have a couple of other Burton fans also
Then the forum went down for a few weeks and when it came back we seemed to lose some posters. Where too.. God knows.

I think forums in general are struggling as Twitter, Facebook, etc now satisfy most people's needs. I am a traditionalist though, grew up reading football forums so that isn't going to change.

I tried these "league one banter" pages and Jesus they are full of dickheads
I had one kid winding me up on there and Jesus I bit. I wanted to rip his fucking head off.
So I came off. It's for teenagers and dickheads

I don't use Facebook for footy chat. Full of weirdos who can't write properly but maybe that is just me getting old! Twitter is good for following official pages but limited characters and full of trolls makes me not want to engage in conversation. Forums are better for me personally even with the likes of SF strutting his stuff.

Facebook football pages are aids, full of absolute mongoloids with learning difficulties, especially the ones who put their club's initials as their middle name. This forum is dead because the owner kept letting it have days on end downtime during busy periods of the season so people just lost interest, it's starting to get busier again but we'll see what happens when there's another blackout.

Probably been the longest without a shut down - hope I haven't jinxed it!

People might be getting board as the season is just starting...

Maybe I'm a dinosaur but Ipswich v Norwich just seems so dead in the Stadium that I can't take it seriously. I saw a picture once of fans separated by a few stewards in the ground and nothing else, and nothing happened. I'm not saying it's a good thing but in proper derbies it would go off.

In all seriousness though you looked very good last night. A young Birmingham team had no chance.

I think we all know that Portsmouth away with a squad not yet fully settled is a bit of a right off so hoping we just go out all guns blazing with nothing to lose!
Yeah sorry about bringing football talk to the thread! :bg:

I hope you do go for it because so many teams do just defend here and inevitably score with their one or two chances. Jacket sets us up defensively at home too which can make for a boring spectacle. Hopefully he will continue with a more attacking style like last night. He has some selection headaches now after performances by Close, Harrison and Cannon.

Good to see Tranmere back, hoping for a good game.

It's been done to death on here, everyone in football thinks Norwich V Ipswich is a shite derby, apart from Ipswich and Norwich fans.

L2 and NL are the best and most active, the NL has been like that for the longer of the two.
Take the kiddies bickering away from this one and it will be even quieter! Only a couple of weeks before the school holidays are over.

You do know it’s possible to absolutely despise of someone without resorting to violence?

Never look at the Championship forum so didn't know the shiteness of the derby was a topic there too.

I admit I'm stuck in the dark ages maybe, but it's just always seemed a boring derby to me. Not one I'd go out of my way to watch.

Go to Blackpool v Preston, proper derby compared to that shite. I'm sure even SF would agree with me about that.

Oh the irony of people comment on 'feisty' derbies; at the same time not realising that if your fans need separating to stop them kicking each others heads in that this isn't a good thing.

Also, who gives a fuck? I'll enjoy a derby as a neutral but I don't care how tribal the fans are.

We only have one derby worth that emotion, being going on since the 1920's but since the 1970's only us really carried it on until we met in the FA Cup at OT in 1991. They didn't show up before or after the match, they couldn't believe how many lads turned up that day (you'll never see that in any of their books by the way). The only other rivalry in the region is Blackburn, the others are just on the day rivalries. I've been following Bolton since the mid 1970's , in order it probably goes Filth, Massives, Blackburn, Everton, Preston, Burnley and then to a lesser extent Bury, Wigan, Oldham, Rochdale and then for a small time in the 1990's Tranmere (but that was down to Elton Welsby and his love in for them),
I'm not sure what the scene is like now, but we used to terrorise the clubs in the lower divisions, and I know no one liked coming to Burnden, even the filth hated it.

Still don't know what's happening with our game against Bolton and it's two days away ffs. They keep insisting it's going to be on but no tickets on sale yet. It's an absolute joke.

Who are the filth and who are the massives?

Presume the filth are Man Utd?

I know a lot of the older Blackpool lads hate Bolton more than any other club.

I placed odds on Coventry at 1/2 so I hope it's on!

I know a lot of the older Blackpool lads hate Bolton more than any other club.

2 main reasons for that: 1 the stabbing, and 2, as much as they tried, your lads never came out on top.

I like derby matches though, they are very tame these days, but you get lots of banter and away followings are normally good, even if your team are pretty shit

Tell me about it, there was supposed to be an annoucement this morning but nowt has happened. They'll have to make it pay on the day, too late to organise online tickets etc
