Donny were fantastic today, but it would take an absolute world beating team to beat us at St Andrews.
Have to say I’m very happy with that point today, the best side we have played this season so far. A mighty effort by our defence with players going down with cramp and although we had plenty of chances to score more than the one we did I’m not sure how we managed to keep you out for so long

Certainly the best team we have played at St Andrews.

Abysmal, are you sure? Seems a bit of a harsh comment.

Yeah it is a harsh comment. I think the standard is quite poor that we haven’t been playing very well but are still unbeaten. Put it this way, if we went up we’d struggle massively.

Great win yesterday. Rotherham the better side in the first half, but we were much better the 2nd half and a deserved win overall.

Onwards and upwards, up to 7th! Shame we're not playing next week which would have been Bury to continue our form.

A decent 4-1 win. Worst we've played this season but the standard of some of the teams in this league is abysmal.

Was at the game and wouldn’t say we were abysmal. First half should have even been ahead were it not for giving away a stupid free kick...

But we’re miles off you. You’re paying Norwood 12k a week when we were struggling to muster up 3k for him! The budgets between some of the top teams in this division and the ones near the bottom is ridiculous.

Anyway we’re just enjoying the journey. Loads saying yesterday how 2 years ago we were at the likes of Maidenhead in front of 1000. Yesterday we were playing at Portman Road. Made up.

Yeah abysmal is harsh. You found decent positions but like a fair few teams in the league the finishing is poor. Still not used to not being punished for sloppy play unlike the championship. Decent noise/ numbers from you lot too

Agree with that. Think we’ll be ok this season because even with a 4-1 loss yesterday you can still see we have that fight about us. If we stay up then everyone will be over the moon.

Yep 620 for a 500 mile round trip was decent. Went for a few drinks in the town after the game and have to say your fans were brilliant. Proper welcoming. Looking forward to the return fixture at Prenton Park!

Already a 4 point gap to safety, Bolton 18 adrift.

We are down unless a miracle happens, but we are playing better and catching up fitness wise. We'll be a decent team by Christmas

I went down to Southend on Saturday - delighted with the 1-0 win. That was our first clean sheet since January so anyone can see that's where our problems have been.
Spoke to a number of Shrimpers fans before and after the game (all very pleasant) but they thought that was as bad as they'd played this season.
As for us we have signed a number of players from Non League which is always a gamble but Colby Bishop (Leamington) and Dion Charles (Southport) appear to have made the step up with ease.
Stanley's performances have been much improved in September compared to August however we have an in-form Oxford up next.

Had a little chuckle at the opinion we're paying Norwood 12k.

Apart from Bialkowski, we weren't pay anyone 12k a week in the Championship last season!!!

I take nothing away from Wycombe who are having a fantastic start to the season but Dale were abject on Saturday. I've not missed a game this season and that was our worst performance of the lot not helped by defensive suicide to gift Wycombe a 2 goal lead early in the first half. I'd like to say that hopefully was just a "hangover" from the United game but there's a running theme in our recent league games. Lots of possession, knocking the ball back to the keeper and fumbling around with the ball only the let the opposition pounce on our errors. I don't think we've had a league game with less than 60% possession but what's the point if we're not doing anything with the ball when we're on top?
I don't fear relegation this season with realistically only 2 spots for grabs but we are going to need to pick up more points especially at home where we haven't won in the league yet.

Winless Wimbledon away next. I've got a horrible feeling their winless run will come to an end!

Won't be many teams in the league poorer than Gillingham, think they will benefit from the Bolton and Bury situations.

Yeah we're not very good, granted. Having said that a lot of our games have been against fancied sides, or sides on a run of form:

Doncaster - Play-offs last season
Burton - Finished last season strongly, and will challenge the play-offs
Blackpool - Were unbeaten when we played, and will challenge the play-offs
Coventry - Unbeaten at home, another who will be up there
Bolton - Pre-signings, so beat them
Tranmere - Should've beaten them, drew.
Wycombe - Were top of the league, beat them
Bristol Rovers - Unbeaten at home I believe, decent point
Ipswich - Unbeaten, probably the best side in the league
Oxford - Just spanked 10 goals in 2 games, on a high.

So other than the Bolton and Tranmere games, it's arguable that ALL the games we've played have been against decent sides in confident mood.

Southend at home next up, so if we fail to beat them then I'll be a tad worried, but 10 points from those 10 fixtures is hardly the end of the world as we know it. It's probably true we'll benefit from there basically just being 2 relegation spots this season, but so will half the division. I don't think we're any worse than about 10 other teams in honesty.

I too am getting worried. Our Board cut the budget by a reported 30% this season, and it's showing in spades. we have very little pace up front, barring the extremely raw Pyke, who is now injured. I actually do think we will face a relegation struggle, as BBM's insistence on pass pass pass won't work when the Winter kicks in. Our home form is regressing game by game.

I too fear for us at Wimbledon, but cling to the hope of something due to the us at least having won away, albeit at two of the poorest teams we have faced in our six years in L1 in Tranmere and Southend. I'm sure that they will improve on the standards they displayed against us.

The Board need to invest in two or three players in January. However, our Pig headed CEO has already said as much as we won't be doing so. I don't think I've known a more unpopular and self opinionated man at Dale ever.

Ipswich fans obviously still used to the Championship if they think we're abysmal - they were a lot better than us second half, after we did well to match them first half, but you get what you pay for. Ipswich are way below their natural level (kind of like us in the fifth tier) and should go straight back up - just don't turn into Leeds fans during their league one stint, as their arrogance was unbearable!

Never been on a 25 hour away day before - coach broke down outside Coventry and eventually made it home at 7am.

I wouldn't say Town fans think that, only a small majority. A lot of good words to say for you lot on our forum, including the away fans themselves.

Think the players were surprised how much you lot were happy to attack us, especially long ball forcing our back four to face our keeper which led to a mistake from Chambers resulting to your goal. Most other teams we've seen have sat back and aimed to catch us on the break.

Most Town fans were worried that we weren't going to be top end of the league considering the season we had last year. Without a doubt we've got to make it out of this league this season, other teams of our size have struggled.

Finally, our arrogance???? All I've seen is how good we were in the second half!

Nothing meant towards you lot by that, Leeds fans were arrogant. The poster who said the standard was abysmal struck a nerve, apart from that all of your fans I spoke to at the game were great. On a Tranmere relate note, watching us play at grounds like Portman Road again after three years of Maidenhead and Braintree is great but strange. 6-700 away fans is nothing to Ipswich but would have been half the attendance at the aforementioned.

yep, I didn't see the game and really you need to have the full perspective of the run of play, the highlights don't tell you everything. But that said, I thought all our goals were poor ones to concede.

We're certainly not world beaters and looked absolutely bang average in the AFCW away game that I saw, but oh well, I guess I just have to enjoy the run whilst it lasts.

each day that goes by it looks more and more like Henrik Larsson is going to be our next manager after the diminish of any hope of a revival under Waddock. 2 games without a shot on target. Nobody who comes in has got a chance with this lot. Worst side I’ve seen

If he joins he’ll be gone before the end of the season

Seems a bit bizarre how it's taking so long to get him in, he's either not 100% up for it or the club are short of ideas.

Waddock's a funny one, he did get us promotion from L2 which was no mean feat with a not particularly impressive squad, but he didn't half sign some shite as well.

I don't think he's the manager I'd want in a relegation scrap though, he comes across as a genuinely nice bloke but I'm not sure that cuts in down at the arse end of the table, you need someone to kick some arses and get the team playing solidly enough to get points in.

I don't know anything about Henrik Larsson from a management (as opposed to playing) credentials perspective, but that sounds like a shite choice to me. Get someone in who knows the division, and has the contacts to get some decent loan players in.

We're conducting more interviews today. Adam Barrett was one of the interviewees - Pray he gets it. I'm assuming Larsson is not going to be coming in now though as he has been at the last two games and Ron has flown out to Sweden to see him so seems weird we're conducting more interviews today if he was coming in. Bullet dodged IMO
