A draw or worse tomorrow night will see us without a win in January, If your going to have a bad run get it out of the way before the final 3 months of the season. The biggest problem we have at the moment is quite simple -we just cannot finish chances when presented, either in one on ones or 6 yards out......all of which points to a goal glut sooner or later !!
Not much chance of that happening against the Sky Blues tomorrow, last year we won comfortably at home against them 3-0. The Cods are overdue a win, a scabby 1-0 with loads of luck and some terrible finishing from the visitors will do fine

Yup, a guy had a heart attack in the stands, got taken away in a normal ambulance in the end for some reason. Anyway, hope he’s ok.

The game kicked off an hour late, and unfortunately Blackpool looked pretty dire from the off, it’s rare enough we score any goals from open play, let alone 2 in the first 10 mins.

That said, either BFC got a full on rocket at half time, we got knackered, or a bit of both in the second half...and Blackpool were all all over us - their Leicester loan guy scored a cracking goal (sadly), and we were left with our backs to the wall to prevent the draw.

Would not want to be a travelling Blackpool fan coming home an hour later than planned though - blech.

Anyway, we’re still in the mix for now.

Donny the best team I've seen in this division by some considerable distance. The passing, movement, positioning and link up play was excellent. I know they like playing us whatever year it is but I can't believe that even playing at 50% of the capability I saw tonight that Doncaster have managed to lose games.

Anyway, a night where I question my own sanity for going up on a Tuesday night to a ground we've never won at.
Even as good as Donny were that was probably the worst performance under Sol Campbell. Back to some of the really bad stuff of people not jumping for headers, lax tackling, slack passing and just general apathy from the majority. Harry Phillips who scored the goal looked decent, another youth teamer, and Mclaughlin was ok as well.
If Stephen Humphyrs was trying to impress potential new employees he didn't do a very good job in his 15 minutes on the pitch before coming off with a suspected broken nose.
A bench filled by just one player over the age of 21 and a 16 year old keeper. Where was Nathan Bishop (number 1 keeper for the majority of the season) puzzled a lot of the away end, oh yeah the highly likely place of having a medical at Manchester United in a transfer move nobody saw coming.

Terrible game at SB apparently and two set pieces goal for Portsmouth did it, who were still the better side by all accounts.

Finally a goal! 1st goal from open play under Garners reign. Some how we throw away a 1-0 lead at Bolton against possibly the worst side I've ever seen at L1 level. Says a lot about us right now that we couldn't even beat them ffs.

10 games in with Garner - W0 D4 L6

Coventry will absolutely destroy us on Saturday

Following our poor performance at Peterborough, I was worried about playing Ipswich last night.

But just as we did at Portman Road we harried them all over the pitch and they couldn't get the time they need to play any football so just resorted to trying to hoof it up field.

That is the blueprint for other League 1 teams to follow, just out work them and their players don't seem interested.

We should have had 4 or 5 and I suspect Burton will be a much harder game on Saturday.

Clough has a much better grip on how to react to other teams styles than Lambert

Very flat on and off the pitch last night, just one of 'those' performances last night.
Top shithousery last night from pompey and knowing Toner would be suckered in by it .
Goal in the first half came in injury time from them being 'injured' but fair play we did plenty of it under the Cowleys.

Not sure if it was the ifollow feed, but the pitch looked really slow, dry and uneven. No-one could pass properly. Still we limited an excellent home team to no shots on target, and only really one decent chance that I can remember. Could have been more clinical on the day. 4-0 would have been abit harsh on lincoln though

Don't think it was the pitch, although it isn't a patch on what it was last season. We hammered Ipswich with quick and decisive attacking not so long ago, we just never got going at all last night. Maybe your set-up stopped us somewhat, but we were a pale shadow of the recent performances at home. Very disappointed, in our showing and the game overall which never really rose above average from either side.

Last night was really poor, fair play to Rotherham but we really weren't at the races, would have been criminal if we had nicked a point at the death when Norwood hit the inside of the post from an impossible angle.

I still think we'll comfortably have enough to go up automatically as that wasn't a proper reflection of how we've played this season; but I think we'll do it behind Rotherham.

Yes we played well yesterday, we were clearly up for it from the start.
It was good to have Crookes and Vassell back having missed the Peterborough game, they make a big difference to how we press the opposition.

It's all very close this year so I don't know if we can go all the way, but we are playing for each other putting in 100% and that's all I ask.

Sunderland looked poor, yet we couldn't get near the ball second half. Be surprised if they go up, be surprised if we don't go down.

Shit game of football at Prenton this evening with 2 shit teams. To top it all off the referee was crap too!
Hopefully it’s just tired legs on our part, rather than poor tactics. I do feel sorry for Morgan Ferrier isolated up front alone with little or no support. Come on Micky, we won’t stay up setting up to draw games at home.

So, Shrewsbury manager reckoned he preferred their game v Liverpool because they play football. Today v Gills was “rugby”. WTF? Shrewsbury are Man City all of a sudden are they?

From what I saw, Shrewsbury were just completely outplayed 1st half and weren’t allowed back into the game 2nd half (unlike v Liverpool). And they were just as happy dishing out rough play as we were.

Didn't an Oxford fan pretty say the same about Shrewsbury the other week when they drew?!

Managers etc do get very bitter when things don't go their way !

Like when they say "we play football the right way" - but it doesn't lead to postive results.

As mentioned elsewhere, Tranmere were very poor at Bolton on Saturday. But to add insult to injury Tranmere fans were kettled in at Horwich Parkway by a very inept GMP for an hour in the freezing cold after the game with some long distance fans missing their connecting trains.
I hate the Macron stadium, it’s everything a modern stadium shouldn’t be, soulless and in the middle of nowhere.

Some real specimens amongst that Bolton lot, they positively make our fans look intelligent. Harbour a grudge too, they absolutely hate us. Anyway, they wanted it more than us, both on and off the pitch - we looked like a team that are mentally already relegated.

Great result against a Sunderland side on a very good run. We were never any good at set pieces, but Seddon and Curtis have been bang on with their deliveries recently. After a nervy first 20 mins we totally dominated for the rest of the game and it could have been 4 or 5 and it wouldn't have been unjust. Not sure what game Parkinson was watching claiming the ref was against them and should have had 2 pens, but Maguire threw himself to the floor and Wyke bounced off Naylor into Bass who had both hands on the ball comfortably. Also blaiming Harrison for pushing Lynch into the GK. Bit harsh, these things happen, he convieniently didn't see Lynch shoving Raggett into the post during a corner.. Very professional performance by us and a very big win, one I would have taken a draw from.

Tranmere tonight in our rearranged game, we didn’t fire at all on Saturday, Fleetwood set up for the conditions and our tactics and deservedly won. Not sure how we will line up tonight given the new players and how Darren can fit them in.

We played well for the first 20 minutes, then Luke McCullough's legs went. After that, it was the easiest win Donny will have all season - they could have had more and we could play until Christmas and not score. We're down, bring on Oldham.

3-0 to Doncaster a fair reflection of the game tonight. Thought we did ok first half without really creating anything, and then the wheels fell off.
Played with 3 strikers tonight and still not a sniff of a goal.

To be fair only Sunderland have a meaner defence than us and once the new players started to settle we showed we have a cutting-edge at last. I know opposing teams are slating the state of your pitch but it’s not doing you any favours, if it were a better surface you might have caused us more problems
