How are Wycombe second? They were awful, seemed to be more interested in play acting and chucking themselves to the floor than they did playing football, a deserved 2-0 win for us and we're starting to look like a good team, finally.

They are second by winning promotion to the football league not stealing another clubs spot.

Well done Southey, still spouting a load of old crap then, does that mean we're down in 19th because we did then?

Big game at Peterborough at the weekend.
We have three games in hand on them but need to get our form back in the league.

Posh fans seem confident having watched us take Newcastle United to extra time on Tuesday and lose Baptiste and Fosu in the transfer window.

After a Christmas and January playing several of the play-off placed teams, we now have a little run against teams a little lower in the table. Burton away for us on Saturday, before a long trip to Blackpool on Tuesday night. I can easily foresee a couple more draws here, although neither are in sparkling form - speaking of which, what's happened to Blackpool? Thought they'd be up in the play-off places but they've signed a whole new team and are now comfortably below us? Weird.

Burton will be tricky at the weekend regardless, but having conceded more than anyone else in the top half bar Posh, they can definitely be got at. They seem to spread the goals around so the loss of Boyce shouldn't be catastrophic for them - although I thought he was a good player. Jamie Murphy looks a shrewd signing, and Akins is always a threat against us.

With the signing of Jordan Graham we now have a solid squad of 18 to pick from:

Bonham
Fuller - Tucker - Ehmer - Ogilvie
Jones
O'Keefe - Pringle
Lee
Akinde - Roberts

Walsh, Willock, Graham, Hanlan, Mandron, Charles-Cook, O'Connor

2-1 either way.

Good to see SE hasn't lost his touch.

Burton were very good at the NYS last Saturday, pushing Oxford as the best team to visit this season.
We were a bit fortunate to get the win, I guess that's the benefit of having a stronger bench to the opposition.

Blackpool are a bit of a mystery, selling Curtis Tilt to us may seem to indicate that they have given up for this season?
They have definitely under performed given the players they have,

Rochdale at home Saturday hopefully carry on where we left off on Tuesday followed by Bolton at home Tuesday unless they find another excuse to dodge us :fish:

I've given up predicting our scores as we are very unpredictable.
I am going to say a 1.1 draw or a narrow 2.1 win.
We do spread the goals around as you state it boycey is a massive loss and we have no current target man.

It's not a question of whether we'll lose to Portsmouth, it's more how many it's going to be. We have the worst form in the football league, Portsmouth the best... I'll go for 0-6. Two own goals.

About time we snided a win against someone competent.

Matty Lund back from Scunny and Luke Matheson back on loan from Wolves. Lundy can do a job at right-back - stick young Luke at No 10 (whatever that is) et confundis erant Danum... :)

Random 4-0 win to us, putting Tranmere et Al deeper in the Scheidt...

Big game for us at Sunderland tomorrow. A few key players out, we'll come for a point. Should've beaten them in August. Would say they have been one of the poorest teams to come to PR this season. But score the first goal and we won't score 2

An awkward game against the Wombles tomorrow, if Fleetwood have aspirations to get into the play offs, this is the kind of game they have to win. The only problem is the Wombles are fighting for survival which means an almighty tussle
Some of our loan players looked more than useful last week so with that in mind and pigs flying past the window I'm going for a 2-1 win for the lads from Lancashire

That is exactly why we will lose.

I'd say exactly the same thing if roles reversed, but it's unlikely - we'd have to score a goal... I do recall you causing what was at the time a minor upset by snatching a 2-2 draw at our place a few years back when we were top of league one and yourselves in the bottom four, so you never know. We've had our one smash and grab for the season at St Andrews, though.

Good performance, disappointing result. We were the better team. I thought we played well, Rotherham were big, physical and direct and for the most part despite been a foot shorter competed well and weren't bullied. We defended well and coped with the direct balls, other than set pieces they weren't a threat. We created much more with both Anderson and John Jules guilty of spurning good opportunities. With Anderson's chance, I've never seen fans stand up and applaud the missing of a good chance, such was the quality of play leading up to it.

Bridcutt had a good debut, adds experience and a bit of bite. Scully looks to have something. Shout out to the ref who I thought was poor and allowed the experienced Rotherham players to ref the game. Multiple fouls went unpunished with the ref losing control of it.

Definite hopeful signs but we need to be building on this. Next week with MK Dons at home and Accy away are important to start gaining points and turning potential into points.

Our away form is pretty dire however out home form is good and I'm hoping something of that carrys over because with you, Portsmouth and Rotherham away this month it could be very slim pickings for us.

Not too sure where you are coming from here, both goalkeepers made 2 good saves from open play.
Stats show we had less possession 46% but that's because we don't fanny about making 10 passes in our own half where 2 will do.
But we had 15 shots to Lincolns 7, we had 3 on target to your 2 and 3 corners to your 1.

You say we are an "experienced team" like it's a bad thing, though in effect the average age of the starting team was 25 so it's not like we are an old team.
Just added up your starting 11 and your average age is 26 lol.

It was not a particularly great performance from us compared to how we have been playing but it was certainly good enough for a point.
That we turned it into 3 makes up for the game at NYS where we missed loads of chances and Lincoln put theirs away.

The referee was pretty much on par with referees at this level, he missed things, he gave things that didn't exist but he was the same for both sides.
TBF he should have booked a couple of your players for waving the imaginary yellow cards to him, hate to see that.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Fairly even game for me. Chances for both sides. Your lads just have more up top than us, we are lacking in that area since Walker was recalled.
Disappointed that the ref, as appeared pretty likely, didn't fully lose control of the game. Myself and several around me took 5/1 on a red card after about 30 minutes, when it started to get a little fractious and our lads were losing it with him

Replying to yourself is possibly the first sign of insanity, but I'd have taken 1-1 before the start - particularly with Southend, Bolton, Tranmere and Wimbledon all losing...

Thought we did ok today considering the opposition. Tight game on an awful pitch with Portsmouth’s quality set piece and a clinical counter attack the difference.

Yes, I agree. I thought we were better than Tuesday night and the new signings looked more settled.

A huge game against Bristol Rovers next week, who are somehow in poorer form than us.

If Tranmere had someone who could stick the ball in the back of the net then we might have had problems. Alas, they did not and the game was over as soon as the second goal went in.

Huge game on Tuesday now on the back of nine straight wins. A club record since Pompey joined the Football League.
