Well, at least the players did try to somewhere near the best of their abilities, minus two ridiculously soft goals. Portsmouth didn't get out of second gear, just like Donny on tuesday, but were comfortably too good for us. The atmosphere in the stands should give some indication of what we consider our hopes of survival are. We didn't play that badly, yet at no point looked like ending our 400 minute goal drought.

Things are really beginning to look worrying here.
The squad is underperforming, without question we are 1 of maybe just 1 or 2 other teams who have the best side in the league on paper; I'd argue we are probably top of that list.

The wheels do seem to be falling off, though, and that automatic promotion gap is looking far too wide this evening.

3 wins in 19 games!!

I'd say exactly the same thing if roles reversed, but it's unlikely - we'd have to score a goal... I do recall you causing what was at the time a minor upset by snatching a 2-2 draw at our place a few years back when we were top of league one and yourselves in the bottom four, so you never know. We've had our one smash and grab for the season at St Andrews, though.

It appears my negative psychology worked :ohm:

Sounds like it was a pretty even game until we managed to be that bit more clinical. Hope you manage to get out of that goal drought!

Club record streak of wins is awesome, but I’m really trying to keep my excitement cautious - with Ipswich, Peterborough, Cov, Oxford, Rotherham away plus a fixture list that is solidly Saturday-Tuesday (or indeed Friday-Monday in the case of Rochdale/Arsenal) until late March to come we could so easily get derailed.

Either way, as a team we’ve really come together and it’s great to see - the football is intense, the squad is tight knit and they’re all playing for each other. It’s definitely got a similar feeling about it to the League 2 promotion season, but there’s a long way to go

Replying to yourself is possibly the first sign of insanity, but I'd have taken 1-1 before the start - particularly with Southend, Bolton, Tranmere and Wimbledon all losing...

Just not good enough by us, if we hadn’t scored in the first 40 seconds it was highly unlikely we would have, conceding another long range effort too which is becoming worrying

This is the kind of win Fleetwood have been looking for, well on the back foot for a good opening period, scoring a scrappy goal in the first half and then the winner in the last 10 minutes...more of the same especially with the Chairboys coming up on Tuesday !!

No surprise of our terrible show at Southend, which even by our away game standards was particularly poor bar 10 or 15 minutes.

Narrow losses to Portsmouth and Rotherham but we've got MK tomorrow, followed by Accy, Gills, Burton and Tranmere with Bolton and AFC not far behind and Coventry in between so, on paper, we have an ok run of fixtures coming up.

That said, we don't really do away wins so those 7 are realistically a good run of 4!

Sunderland away tomorrow. We were a bit unlucky to lose at home to them earlier in the season, fancy us to sneak a point or three IF we can avoid giving away early goals or last minute penalties. So probably a point at best...

Tranmere don't have a bad set of fixtures over the next 10 games. Wycombe and Fleetwood will be tough, but they've also got MK, Lincoln, AFCW, Blackpool, Rochdale and Bristol Rovers in there.

Indeed, if we could learn to both score and defend, we might win one of them. Bristol Rovers tomorrow is a huge game, as they're in equally bad form as ourselves. Lose that and I can't see a way back.

Just a goal would be nice at the moment!

If we finally win tomorrow, things could get interesting.

If we don't.......

Need to put away some of the chances we've been creating, had enough on Friday.
Very cold here!

Lovely long trip to Blackpool tonight. Probably another draw.

Might get O'Keefe and Jones back in the starting 11 but with the number of niggles we're picking up in midfield, wouldn't be surprised to see a change of shape, go 4-3-3 and bring in Jordan Graham wide.

To be honest after the weekend I thought this one might be off, but haven't heard any whisper of that being a possibility a touch surprisingly.

Could be a few goals in this, we're looking a lot sharper up front now, if you think you lot mess around with it at the back...Wait until you see us

How's Carlton Morris doing for you?
TBF we haven't really missed him that much but Warney was very happy with him and wanted him to stay.

Bolton tonight, it’s turning into a bit of a grudge match given what happened in respect to the none fixture. I can see them being fired up and with them running Coventry very close on Saturday a huge potential to beating us. If we play as we did against Rochdale then we will get beat.

Gutting to lose that thanks to falling asleep for a throw in. We weren't great but neither were Coventry and a draw would have been fair. That's 4 points we've gifted Sky Blues this season and think we'll pay the price come May.

We were coasting then made a complete hash of playing out from the back, gifted them a goal and proceeded to let Bolton look like a football team for the rest of the match. We are too frail and inconsistent to make the playoffs this season

3 wins on the bounce and it looks like we gave it a really good go tonight. Some very positive attacking stats and bearing in mind we played the last 30 minutes with 10 men it s even more impressive. The next 2 home games are against Posh ( who are flying ) and Pompey, this will give real indication of how things are looking as we enter the business end of the season, one things for sure - we have got our mojo back !!

I still can't believe that we beat Coventry away in October. The fact that they're looking good for a return to the second tier of English football but potentially without a ground is equally scandalous and wildly impressive. Hope you get some better owners soon.

For us, no goals in 5 consecutive league games for the first time in our history. Hartlepool made double figures in the 90's, we're decent money to beat them the way things are going!

Great result up at Blackpool last night - another tricky one at home to Donny on Saturday, but we've already beaten them once at home this season so got to stay positive about that one. 12 unbeaten now, which for a mid-table side is impressive. One point and one place closer to the play-offs after the results last night too, gap down to 7. Win at the weekend and that'll reel in another.

Drew 2-2 against Burton. A weird game.

Burton looked capable of scoring at every attack, even when they barely threatened our back four we look so shaky and capable of a rickett. That being said I'm not sure Burton can take the credit for that, everyone seems to look like scoring against us at the moment! We look far from solid which is strange; all the aspects of our game that worked so well a few months ago no longer are part of our gameplan.

Murphy and Atkin looked good to me, starved a little of service at times but you can't argue with their efficiency. Burton's shape looked good off the ball, the gameplan worked to a point.

Second half we did much better, a lot of stray balls and lacked quality... But the injection of aggression and basic effort affected the game. We could so easily have won it if we cut out silly mistakes.

Mid-table mediocrity/push for the play-offs at best beckons now...

Very odd game, two great goals and some decent football but then some awful stuff too from both teams.
Lewington used his 'experience' to influence the ref along with a few team mates but fair play to them they worked the ref was a joke as you can see from the tweets.
As was mentioned earlier this could have been a very high scoring game but neither side could put their chances away.

We're currently in our highest league placing since 1984 but have a lot of unhappy 'fans' due to the struggles with new style of play.

I wasn’t at last nights game (busy working) but judging from the highlights we looked lucky to come away with a draw.

Yet another defeat for us. Haven't won since the 21st of December. The worst football on offer since I started watching Shrewsbury under Sam Ricketts, pathetic excuse of a 'football manager'.

The most frustrating thing is, we must be in the top 10 budgets of League 1 this season, spunked a fortune in the summer and on paper, this squad of players is better than the 17/18 season under Hurst where we somehow failed to gain promotion. Ricketts just isn't using the team right and is playing players out of position and not starting players like Cummings and Whalley who if fit, should start.

Pompey away on Saturday, Pompey should beat us by ATLEAST two goals and anything other and I'd be disappointed if I was them. Pompey 3-0 Salop
