Playing Charlton away. Guessing a 4 or 5-0 loss.

I've got to say from what I've seen from Cov in recent weeks, whatever happens, they've got something to build on for next season. They have a spine of a team that if they could gain a bit more consistency, could be pushing for the automatics and certainly the play offs - more so than this season.

What do you mean "Oxford will be safe by then?"

We're safe now, and playing well. Look at the form table if you don't believe me. If you need a point for promotion (unlikely) or the title (possible) don't count on us rolling over and giving it you.

We're the sort of side that will come along and piss on your party. I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry Eric. Obv hurt your feelings there. Hadnt been looking at the mid table as closely as the bottom and the top. You are safe already. Well done on that.

My point on playing mid table sides at the end if the season is they have less to play for. Thats all. Not that theyre insignificant ir terrible, just less motivated.

Oxford at home. Be a nice team to lift the Trophy in front of and i do like it when we spank Oxford. Sounds a good day

If only we didn't have a shite keeper, we'd probably be right up there.

Does seem like Burge makes a LOT of mistakes. Almost every time I happen to catch you on highlights he has done something...odd.

Too true. Keeper looks well dodgy.

Very impressed with Coventry's movement today, especially first half. We could have easily gone into the break 3 down. We did better second half without ever looking impressive. The team has balls, though.

I can confirm that Scunthorpe are, truly, utterly and sincerely fucking shite.

We’ve not even got out of first gear.

Well that's the official end of us in this league.

Its been a pleasure. If only Graham Alexander hadn't wasted our best squad in years, we could've at least had a year in the championship.

Nah not yet. Beat Bradford and draw with Plymouth and survive on 50

That would involve our manager learning what tactics are, our team showing some fight and being able to score. That isn't going to happen.

Well they always say things even themselves out in a season. On Good Friday against Posh we equalised in the 4th minute of extra time -well deserved
Today those nice people from Blackpool got the winner in, you guessed it the 4th minute of extra time. Harsh on Fleetwood who were the better team overall , fantastic support from the Cod Army who outsong the home crowd with ease, going to be sick now......

If we sort a deal at the Ricoh, we'll be well in the mix next season. Robins has a plan.

I'm not convinced. We have to replace Burge, Sterling, Thomas and potentially Willis and Bayliss next season, could end up being a bit of a rebuild job which while take a while to get going. While they've been decent recently I'm not convince that Bakayoko, Davies or Shipley are really up to it either.

I agree but Robins seems to be building a brilliant style of play. If we stay at the Ricoh we'll have a reasonable budget as well.

Well that's the playoffs for us then, there could be one more twist in the promotion race but I doubt we'll be involved in it other than potentially Portsmouth getting a result/us handing it to Barnsley on Saturday.

I'm no expert but I think our undoing was the 18 draws, 13 of which coming from winning positions.

You looked a very nervous side on Friday maybe the weight of expectation has been too much

It's a bit sad that we came away on Friday thinking it was one of our better performances of the season, certainly since around November time.

Perhaps it has gotten to the players but we are a new squad with a manager who is new to managing. Think we were also hindered by our bright start to the season where we were playing attacking football, we went really into our shell after that and fell into our current 'try and get a lead and hold it as best we can' style.

From a distance it looks to me like Ross's 'try and get a lead and hold it as best we can' style as you call it has really cost Sunderland this season. He needs to get more into the mentality that his club is the big fish here and they need to be putting teams away with 2 or 3 goal leads rather than 1. He's not at St Mirren anymore.

It was very noticeable in the checkatrade final that Sunderland completely backed off after taking the lead. You were completely bossing things up to that point. Other teams would have put the game out of sight before doing that.

Nonsense ref the out singing home support. Of all the visiting teams I've seen at Bloomfield Road over the years, yours was one of the quietest.

600 Plymouth fans were far louder.

You've got a decent team albeit a weird edge to you with elbows and tackles flying in.

It definitely wasn't a pen and think it was a harsh red card. You played the better football just not enough quality given to Evans. He had one other decent chance to score but the final ball from your lot was pretty poor.

Young kid at right back looked pretty good too considering that was his first start. Could be a good season for Tinpot FC next year.

As for us, we're shite. No idea how we had a sniff of the play offs 5/6 games ago.

New owners. New pitch. New manager. Fresh optimism for 2019/2020 season.

He has regressed slightly from his style at St. Mirren oddly, on only 8 occasions the season they were promoted they scored a single goal in a game, they would often score 1 or 2 more. Compared to the 20 for Sunderland this season where we've just managed a single goal, that run where we scored in about 40 consecutive games papered over some cracks in our ability to create chances.

We've relied on individual brilliance for a lot of the season which has fallen onto McGeady's shoulders since Maja left. There's also a reason McLaughlin, our keeper has won MotM more than the rest of our squad.

Portsmouth and Barnsley did the business yesterday then, time for us to see if we can do the same.

Wimbledon actually in some ok form when I checked just now so perhaps not as simple a game as it looks on paper initially. Pigott also bound to score against us having looked something akin to a wounded baby giraffe when playing for us a few seasons ago now.

You would think Shinnie will come back in straight away following suspension having been one of our best players all season despite the win on Saturday. Might have to be for Lee though who picked up a knock so may be another rejig in midfield, I’d love to see Berry back at the top of the diamond but not sure that will happen.

Interesting one will be Stech, will he keep his place after a clean sheet. Personally if he is back and ready to go then Shea should come back in, still not entirely trusting of Stech after his quite strange loss of form last season!

A game we should win but think it will be a nervy one, both teams with a lot to play for and if they can frustrate us, it could get nervy indeed. Really don’t want to go into the Burton game with it looking like a must win either as that will be a tough one.

That was a nice point. Luton paid price for tine wasting at home. Should have finished us off before then.

Nah. No more than any other side trys to run the clock down. 4mins of extra time two and a half of that is five substitutions. So nothing outrageous there. Just werent clinical enough was where we paid the price. Well played good point. Hope it helps you stay up
