I get your point, however...

A quick look at games vs the current top 10:

Pompey: Played 6 - Points 12 (avg 2 points per game)
Luton: Played 8 - Points 4 (avg 0.5 points per game)

Can I respectfully refer you to my previous post.

You are spectacularly missing the bleeding point. It doesn't matter where the teams we have played are NOW, but where they were when we played them.

Slight over-reaction to what I thought was an interesting stat after 20 games or so? Strange also, as I wasn't replying to you anyway - but a post from Kenneth E End.

Watcha bud, I hope you're well.
WTGR stands for 'with the greatest respect'.
That interview was mind boggling TBH, Hamer said an awful lot of words but actually said bugger all. I would be extremely concerned if I were one of your lot. In his defence, I get the impression he's just a mouthpiece for WAQ anyway. Where the bloody hell has he disappeared to?
We'll stumble around in the bottom half of the Championship with LJ in charge but will get enough to survive I should think, more due to the ineptness of other teams rather than us being any good. If LJ is eventually moved out, who knows where we could go.
Bad times to be a Bristol football fan, even the rugby boys are in trouble! :(
At least the basket ball team (didn't even know we had one until Lansdown) are getting a new stadium!

What a time to be alive!

Well I'm getting this post in early as off to Edinburgh for a few days, so this is dedicated to my old mucker Oakroader ! We go back a good few years matey in the old Blue Square Premier, if my memory serves me well we did ok down at your place with a win or two
Luton riding high with one of the best home records in this league, any more of this and further glory on the horizon for you lads. The Cod Army professionally saw off Guisely to progress to the 3rd round of the F A Cup, that aside we have lost 4 on the bounce on the road and inconsistency is the curse at the moment
I really cant see us getting anything out of this, so clearly it all points to .......
Luton 0 Fleetwood 3, already getting in training with the Malt Whisky , enjoy the game Oaky

Was the last time we played that 2-0 win up at Highbury, on the last day of the season to sneak into the play offs, with Jamie Vardy still in the line up?

I’m in London for a long weekend so on Saturday I’ll be making the trip to Kenilworth Road for the first time since they were in the Conference. Last time I saw them play Fleetwood, Jamie Vardy tore them apart so it’s been a while.

I may be thinking of a different game but I don’t recall Vardy “tearing us apart” in the game I’m thinking of that he played in at the Kenny. I think we lost by the odd goal and the goal that he did score was as a result of one of our fullbacks slipping over, or something of that ilk, leaving him clean through. The remainder of the game being mostly us huffing and puffing without much actually happening. The most impressive players from that day were McNulty and Pond just batting everything away with consumate ease. We signed one of them and had aspirations of signing the other at later points!

They were an excellent side that year, even a very good Wrexham team couldn’t over haul them, just kept churning out win after win.

Yet to be mentioned today, but of course incredibly important.

https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2018/de...er-from-ccfc-regarding-ricoh-arena-situation/

Coventry City/Otium/SISU have released a statement throwing the blame to Wasps and Coventry City Council for not discussing a deal for the club to remain at the Ricoh next season.

SISU will always get the main blame from me for the troubles but Wasps and the council have had a huge part to play.

While I mostly blame SISU, Coventry City are right that if CCFC do lose football league status at the end of the season, the council should be embarrassed. The club is a huge part of people's lives in a city which is European City of Sport next year. How can you promote that achievement when your biggest sporting side has been let go?

Whatever happened to the plans of sharing with Coventry united ? Think they had one big stand and you had aspirations of developing the rest.
It’s such a tragic mess. A great football club in this state.

Kind of feel sorry for any Wasps fans who supported that team in London and Wycombe before the move up to Coventry - bit of the MK Dons about it all but seemed to be quite happily accepted.

Then again not sure you'd get the more traditional teams like Bath and Leicester moving cities!

We've got a very tough schedule from now until the new year.

8/12 - Wycombe (A) 10th
15/12 - Pompey (H) 1st
22/12 - Blackpool (A) 8th
26/12 - Peterborough (H) 4th
29/12 - Charlton (H) 6th
1/1 - Luton (A) 3rd

Hopefully come out of it in a strong position but could easily found ourselves a little out of the picture come 2nd January.

Pompeys biggest win of the season so far coming tomorrow. This game absolutely screams of 5-0

Never going to happen. We are such a frustratingly functional
team to watch and play against. If we get ahead we will invite pressure as we are confident we can defend and counter. Only won by more than 2 goals once. Saying that we are building a head of steam all the way through the squad with the fa cup and checkatrade wins.. IF December is a good month for us I can't see anyone catching us. Having to play our bogey team Southend, in form Charlton home, Barnsley away, Sunderland home. Also only side to beat us, Gillingham away then long trip to Fleetwood.. Not easy..

I'm worried about Wycombe tomorrow. When I bought my tickets 3 weeks ago I was quite confident, but they're in form and we're not, and I'm going to be bricking it every set piece they get. Point wouldn't be terrible tbh.

Expecting a difficult game at Accrington today, can’t see Pompey or Luton slipping up today so we need to win. Watmore will be on the bench today and Im looking forward to him coming on as he played well the other night on his comeback game, this boy could be the difference for us going into the second half of the season if he stays injury free. BTTS today for me and i have a feeling we may not get the win we desire.

That's Coventry Rugby club which Coventry United ground share with.

The problem is, it's too small and certainly wouldn't suit EFL regulations at the moment. It's a shame as it would be the perfect place for a football stadium. It won't be out of the pipe line.

I would agree, but Wasps fans didn't protest the move! In fact, 95% of them were happy for them to move to Coventry. Proves how different rugby is to football.

They probably just want to play at a bigger stadium with better facilities compared to Adams Park!

The mindset of a rugby fan can be quite different - there just to have a good time and if their teams wins/loses or plays well doesn't really matter.

So long as they can all sit togeother and have a drink or two..

Keeping our settled looking side today, can’t recall us ever having this many games with no changes! The good thing is the bench is looking really strong with players like Potts, Hylton, Grant and even Luke Berry back on it today. Im a bit of a Berry fan boy so hope we get to see him at some point today!

Some good players in that Fleetwood line up by the looks of it too, Wallace, Madden and Marney very recognisable names. Should be an interesting contest.

When you have a player like Kazenga LuaLua sitting on the bench, they must be doing something right.

The natural order of things seems to be coming in place now with us thrashing away on our way to promotion and the likes of Barnsley finding comfort in their slow slumber to mid table.

Luke Berry returns to the Luton side for the first time since Good Friday. And Luton haven’t lost at home since that double leg break...

So it seems. Another big win for us today, I won't get carried away as this form won't last, but we edge closer to safety with each win, and (whisper it) maybe even an incredibly unlikely tilt at the play-offs?

Luton into the automatics after the Accrington abandonment. Smaller nose bleeds up at Everest.
