We’re past 6,000 at the moment. Good going.
You just wait until we start selling ours (soon hopefully), or even announce when we do, complete mayhem, what with our steam driven internet system crashing and the ticket office being manned by just two old ladies and a spotty youth, we'll sell at least ten the first day. I think they are printed in France, so god knows when people will actually get their book of tickets.

Don't know if you still have books of tickets or if that's part of your 'we're behind the times' banter, but when we had to play a home game at Preston due to flooding, Preston didn't have an electronic ticketing system so couldn't scan our STs, one of the stewards wanted to look at mine purely because he was interested, it was like he'd never seen anything so futuristic before.

We certainly do still have a book of tickets, or did last season and as we have no money to install 'readers' or whatever they are called at our turnstiles it isn't going to change very quickly. Grimsby is still in the dark ages IT wise, just like Preston by the sound of it.

We don't even have season ticket books anymore - we just get an envelope with the match ticket for every home game inside, and a few vouchers with it (bring a friend for £10 for example).

Hot Gen: Our Season Ticket information packs have been posted and this season you get a 'card' because we've got readers on the turnstilles! Technology comes to Cleethorpes at last.

Christ we’ve had that for years now!

Expect to be frustrating by people not able to use a scanner correctly.

Over 3200 sold with today and tomorrow of the early bird to go.

Decent considering the situation and estimate we will finish around the 4K mark. Think I will go for a ten game ticket

No update since last week, but the ticket office guy said we had surpassed 7,500 before the weekend.

PNE are in their 3rd season of electronic turnstiles.

Bought mine today, can’t say I’ve ever bought a round of drinks worth £150 though, not in one go at least.

Why is that touted as a bad thing?

I wish my club did it that cheaply?

I used to think like that but not so much these days.

Revenue from selling those season tickets so cheaply is absolutely minimal compared to other clubs who sell at a higher price, even if they don’t sell as many. Whilst it’s great for fans, for the club itself it’s burden financially when they look for transfer funding etc.

Bradford’s owners are almost between a rock and a hard place at this point. Either they keep their prices as they are and stick around in L2 hoping for miracles to get promoted, or the increase ST prices in a bid to increase income and see a fan backlash and a return to mid-four figure crowds.

A few things we’ve managed since having ‘cheap’ season tickets: Promoted once, L1 Play Off’s twice, final once, FA cup quarter final, League Cup finalist (as a L2 club), biggest FA cup shock/turnaround in history at Stamford Bridge from 2-0 down, beat Arsenal, Villa over two legs, few more Prem teams in the cup runs.
Off field, trebled attendances, opened up to countless younger fans, sponsorship, suites, shirt sales, pies/pints, better off, affordable to watch... Assuming the follow up point is that we’re now where we started before the cheaper tickets, that is true, but down almost entirely to the foreign takeover and that’s another story entirely.
Selling at double the cost to half the audience works out the same only to less people watching/investing (as fans, especially kids) in the club, fewer people go, the big crowds aren’t a selling point to potential signings, etc. either way thanks to the salary cap it’s not like potentially making millions and millions in ticket sales means you can reinvest in a better squad anyway.

All the extra revenue from the larger fanbase helped them pay off James Vaughan’s contract, allowing him to sign for a promotion rival. Smart.

We finally released season ticket info last week, frozen our prices from last season. Standing £306, seating £391-£425.

Another positive from the Bradford model is that they are making football accessible to more people, which may sound obvious, but it is a criticism of many teams higher up the pyramid that they are pricing out the average fan. I think the key is to find something that works and encourages fans to engage with and support their local team rather than just following someone because they are big. We have done something completely different with our ambassador scheme and giving out free shirts to primary school kids, but there is no doubt that our fanbase is growing. It is a slow process and requires continual investment, in time and effort, not just financially but I think that both Bradford and ourselves are in a really good position with regards to maximising their fanbase.

Problem with the ambassadors scheme this season is that our capacity is set at 1153, which will mean season ticket holders only. So no groups from schools/sports clubs etc.

True to start off with, at least until we can up the capacity.

This season is really going to feel like it did when I started following the club, with gates of maybe 800-1000 and a return to that non-league feel, with hardly anyone sat near me in the stand...which is a real pity as it looks like we are assembling a squad of players that will play entertaining football and might be pretty competitive when it comes to making the play-offs. My worry is the Tuesday evening type of game, in the middle of winter, when even those who have a season ticket don't turn up and we might struggle to get an attendance of more than 600-700.

we have gone through the 7000 mark for season tickets.....about 3/4 thousand down because of covid

Didn’t you average just 11,000 last season? Weren’t there any POTD sales or away fans, then?

We sold 8,500 season tickets last season. They didn't go on sale until well into the season (first game under the season ticket scheme was in October).

Anywhere near the 8,500 season ticket mark this season would be an excellent effort.

average last season 11,500.....very few potd less than 1000 away fans think we sold around the 9000 mark despite having no manager no team and many stayed away because the previous owner still ran the club until the eve of the season.

Oh, it’s just that you said you’d sold 7,000 so far this season, and that you were 4,000 down on last season. It would appear that you actually sold significantly less than 11,000 season tickets last season.

Bloody hell we never even had a team.....nobody wanted to go
If covid was not around we would shift 12+ The is a feel good factor back in the town.
If we sold them for £150 we would fill the stadium

Yesterday saw the end of our 'early bird' window (prices now go up by around 25%). Sales as follows:

3431 general supporter tickets
486 Corporate and staff tickets

3917 total ST holders.

It's around 100 less than last season's final total, but I'd expect us to get to around 4250 by the start of the season.

Lots of optimism around but still, a decent effort given the reality of the opening couple of home matches being behind closed doors.

Why so touchy for?

You said you’d sold 11,000 when in fact you had sold less. You were wrong - it happens - move on.
