Enjoyed that, this lot will take a while to fully adapt to playing out from the back and there will be mistakes, but it was promising.

Browne & DJ looked back to their best and Whiteman kept things ticking over nicely.

McCann at right wing back was a bit of a waste but all in all, I was pretty happy with the line up.

Good start.

He has been shite all too often tho. All the time in the world and his deliveries are soooo far off more often than not. Like half the pitch off, not just a few yards, he can put it over the Oak Road Stand or in the Maple instead of on the pen spot.

He gets in the position tho - all the time. Its a bit like Harry i think. Lack of mental composure as he prooves he can do it, with high quality. Thats not luck, or bad luck when it goes wrong. He needs to clear his head and be calm. They both need mental coaching from a pro.

He started the season in good form but his delivery has been poor of late can’t deny that. Jones made some good comments after the game about him and I feel similar to you about him, he keeps getting I the positions and trying the right thing but he’s not a pre let league player who can do everything right consistently. He’s become a much better defender of late I feel as well which is admirable as I agree with what Jones said after the game - he didn’t take that seriously before.

Don’t mind people have a groan after a bad cross but this guy was ripping into him whilst he was just trying to take a throw in, he’s not even done anything wrong yet! Pathetic behaviour, and was great to see a lot of people tell him to shut it and his face after Bree gave him a look after the free kick.

Just seen the Jones interview and while youd expect him to back his player.........Prem League Qual? Bwahahahaha. We all know Jones gets carried away post match.

I hope hes right and we do develop Bree into what Jones thinks he can be. He does have the potential has improved as a defender but he is soooo infuriating prob because he has the potential. I dont swear at the tv to any player more. Even Harry. But it doesnt help the player getting slated.

Soooo........great ball James, well done. Happy Birthday Sir.

What I took from that and the rest of what he said is that he has premier league quality in him, not that he’s a premier league quality player right this moment.

I agree with him - the set piece he put in for the goal was absolutely quality , but as he said himself, sometimes he puts one into Bury Park because he’s not the finished player yet. He’s in the right positions and if he gets the consistency he could go to the next level. Maybe he will maybe he won’t but think he does get some unesscarry criticism. Certainly what he got today was.

Fantastic win for the Mighty Reds today, Cooper took his old club and successor to school tactically in the 2nd half. If we can can keep this spine and nucleus together for the rest of the season there's no reason we can't go for top 6

Great game yesterday - really enjoyable. I just couldn't believe shortly before half time and shortly before the end people leaving early. It was a fantastic event and atmosphere.

Nice attendance of 9,992 considering recent events...

Fulham are clearly the best team in the division... and is hardly surprising considering their huge resources. Mitrovic will earn more in a week than some of our players will in best part of a year. Scored his 25th goal for club and country this season yesterday.

We started off fairly easy paced and showed too much respect to Fulham who deservedly lead after 20 minutes. Then the Town gradually grew into the game and upped the intensity and deservedly got their equaliser midway through the second half. Luton went into their shell a little bit after that which in hindsight was probably the best call. Going overly aggressive would've probably left Luton a bit exposed with Fulham chasing the game at that stage.

Only 2 mins of injury time yesterday... an indicator of how both teams played yesterday and at the speed.

A word for the referee Thomas Brammall yesterday... first season at this level. Excellent I thought.

"They have a striker which cost a billion pound, whilst we have a striker who cost a billionth of that".

Classic Jones. In fairness, only four players have now scored more goals than Elijah this season. He is on for 20 goals this season at this rate and a huge money (for us anyway) move in the summer.

Lets hope Eli is smart. He seems to have a decent head on his shoulders.

Develop with us and really learn his craft and dominate this league and go for loads to a middle new Prem side like a Leicester Leeds Wolves.... rather than look a flash in the pan and go for decent money to a transition club fighting for the Prem like a Forest/West Brom/Boro.

I think with their money and position theyll be looking at more established players this coming window. Doubt theyll have the foresight for the future yet.

Lets also be realistic - hes not Prem class yet. Decent defenders tend to shut him down and ive noticed his head and confidence can drop a little when this happens. He struggled v Fulham for long periods as they marshalled him well - goal aside - and neither of those centre backs are even average Prem standard.

i get that BH...
but in the short term he'd be the perfect foil for them or some other "twitchy bum time" team to exploit route one direct football...
plus good footballers can get better if the service to them is conducive to the circumstances
if for example the geordies are resolved to their fate this season then i cant see them spunking out megga cash in an attempt to avoid the inevitable... he wouldn't be much of a gamble IMO...
a good investment all round i reckon...

If they are willing to invest £20m, I’d be more than happy to oblige with their requirements.

Not been mentioned here but Sheffield United/QPR off due to COVID. I see 40 odd premier league players tested positive this week too.

Can see big impacts to the Christmas schedule with the way things are going out there, and if that starts happening maybe further restrictions to attending games looming. Just anecdotally amongst friends/colleagues its noticeable that cases seem to be picking up again.

Hopefully the booster campaign averts that but mood music seems pretty negative at this moment.

May as well jump back in here already, as it's abundantly clear that we don't have a hope in hell of staying up and that we're one of the worst teams in Premier League history.

Hopefully next season we don't even compete for promotion as it's just a complete and utter waste of time for everyone involved. I'd much rather Championship mediocrity than be a constant national laughing stock at Premier League level.

I don’t know how many are vaccinated but it is a worry despite many being so the cases are going up even if they aren’t serious .

Well least you got notice unlike our fans going to Burnley .
Yep saw that. Pretty shocking that, almost feel sorry for the Watford fans :bg:seriously though think Watford owe i to those who travelled to provide some sort of explanation as to why it was so late

Our call off coincides with Jed Wallace being injured. I've obviously no idea what their situation is but this could work to some team's advantage.

Reading had 10 injuries already apparently as well so that’s rankled a few. I kind of get that though, if you’re already struggling injury wise doesn’t make many cases before you start not being able to field an 11.

According to the EFL statement enhanced covid protocols going to be out in place at training grounds etc. More postponed matches today with Cardiff/Derby, Stoke/Coventry also off as of today.

25% of players apparently don’t intend to be vaccinated at all which seems totally mad to me, but probably not the right place to open that particular “debate.”

Trouble is they are all young and probably think the virus isn't going to affect them that much.

And don't bother sticking to the guidelines as people have suggested.

They certainly won't be the only ones in the age group.

Mind you we don't know if the affected players have had the vaccine and of course you can still get COVID even after having it.

As for us - typically Watford thing!

Apparently we told the Premier league in the morning but they didn't make anything public till so close to kick off and poor old Burnley were left in the middle affected through no fault of their own.

Plus the fans who had traveled.

No doubt we'll see how Burnley feel about it when they beat us in the re-arranged game.
