In some more serious news, seems a Luton fan is currently in a coma after being bottled last night and a few other issues being consistently reported by fans on social media too.

I personally didnt have an issue getting in or out of the ground last night (arrived pretty early, and my seat was very close to an exit) but a lot of reports of both issues getting into and out of the ground as well. Can definitely see why people had a problem getting in as my ticket had to be checked twice, along with security pat down, once by a gaggle of stewards out the front (who couldnt actually see anything as it was dark) then the actual turnstile. Multiply that out 2400 times thats going to add significant time to getting in especially as most turn up close to kick off for evening games. Around me didnt fill up until 10 mins into the game and most around me were just trying to find a place to watch as they were so late rather than being in there allocated seat. There was a huge police presence for the game as well, do think that gives things an atmosphere that otherwise might not be there but i guess they have to take things seriously.

Hope the fan can pull through but terrible news.

Hope this fan is ok .

There is video out there of after the game out there on social media, glad i got out of the area pretty quick after the game, as looks like there was quite a bit of aggro in the area i was, shortly after i left it.

I cant say im surprised something has kicked off really - I think its because im getting a bit older now but i dont really understand the behaviour of a lot of our away support, a lot of needlessly aggressive people who seem to have 1 too many and look to pick a fight/throw a bit of abuse out than watch the game/support the team, there was even a scuffle in front of me amongst our own fans last night. I've picked up a bit of of an "edgy" under current at all the away games ive been to this season, not sure thats always been the case but definitely been there season IMO. Beginning to think im over going to away games and certainly ones that involve clubs we have a history with.

Hope the catch whoever did this, and really hope the poor chap pulls through with no ill effects, but it sounds pretty bad at the moment.

I wouldn’t go that far, but there has definitely been a deterioration at some of the higher profile games like Millwall. Clearly it’s an opportunity for the Green Street wannabes to have their moment

Our support in the last 10 years has been pretty well behaved in my opinion, however I feel because of lockdown and what happened in the Euros, it has given the hooligans another lease of life generally, not just at Luton.

I didn’t go to QPR due to work reasons, but from what I understand is that the Met Police (again) didn’t portray themselves in a good light either.

As for the football - not a terrible amount of damage done. A lot of teams could’ve leapfrogged us yesterday but didn’t and we still remain 1 place higher than the end of last season. Anything 11th and above is clearly progression.

Fulham and Bournemouth are going to run away with it with WBA more than likely to take a top 3 spot too… very much all to play for, for about 12-15 more teams below that in what is a very even division those three apart.

As for our own team, we are clearly desperate for a Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall but those don’t come two a penny. There are players in the squad who don’t seem to be pulling their weight at the moment… we are now over a third of a way through the season and needing to hit top gear in the run up to Christmas.

I can’t believe I’m going to say Rea should be in the side ahead of Campbell. Lansbury has quality on and off the ball sometimes, but really not consistent enough. Pelly has been very up and down this season. Jerome and Muskwe have had fits and starts, but neither are impressing me that much. I also couldn’t believe James Bree was nominated to take dangerous free kicks on Friday.

This is spot on, lot of stuff going on in society at the moment that is driving a lot of this behaviour more broadly.

Anyway as you say, the football…

Agree with a lot of this. In broad terms I’m very happy with where we are but as always some taking points on the other side I think you’ve hit on. I am assuming that Rea is injured or something of that nature as he wasn’t even on the bench Friday night. In my view he’s been very good this season and bounced back from an indifferent campaign last year. Was excited by the Mendes Gomes signing but he’s totally MIA at the moment. Big money move by our standards and he’s not even getting a look at the moment.

Apart from maybe 1 appearance at Barnsley I think Jerome looks way way past it and is an under rated problem for us as it’s forcing Adebayo to play a huge amount of minutes. We are pretty well reliant on him at this point. We lose him to a muscle injury then we are have some issues.

Don’t get me started on Bree set pieces.

Forest away for us tonight. They have had an upturn in form since Cooper took over. We’ve had an extra days rest on them which depending on your view is a big thing or not.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Rea coming in here if he isn’t injured, but i really don't think all that much needs to change on the basis of what happened on Friday night. Be interesting to see if Onyendinma continues at left wing back or Bell comes back in. Was slightly incongruous to see Bell, who has been excellent IMO benched in preference of playing Onyendinma out of position - he did well there but was a bit strange.

Boro away, miserable fixture, we should probably get something but it'll be the same old shit as Saturday, so it's pure luck if we do.

Incredible that this manager is totally safe.

Well…I think our game can only be described as “one for the purists”. Our midweek away games are consistently like this seemingly.

Unbelievable.

We should have been dead and buried, Iversen bailing us out, then we bag 2 in 4 minutes. Header from a corner and then some of the worst shit you'll ever see from a Championship side to leave it on a plate for Riis. Good to see Evans back involved and bagging.

I think most PNE fans were happy to see us lose tonight to help McAvoy get the boot.

Think id have taken a point if offered beforehand but having had a penalty, and the opposition down to 10, pretty disappointing we havent come away with 3.

Has to be said before the penalty we offered virtually nothing in the game, which was really poor in general. Was going to be a mistake that won it for either side, as it was both teams didnt capitalise on those with Taylor missing after Lockyer miss-controlled and us missing the pen which kind of summed everything up really. With them down to 10 we dominated the ball as you might expect but showed a real lack of composure in attacking areas I never really felt like we were going to score if im honest.

Havent scored in 3 games now, and feels like if Adebayo/Cornick arent on it, then no one else is really stepping up for us, this honestly felt like an away game from last season for us.

A fair assessment I think, the sending off was annoying and mindless as I think we were slowly growing into the game in an attacking sense and thought we would have created at least a chance or two for Grabban who would have came on.

But under the circumstances I'll take that even though we should have had a pen ourselves, Samba was the hero of the hour with the penalty save and an unbelievable one towards the end as well.

I think Colback lost his head over the corner as he thought it should have been a goal kick (cant comment on that as they never gave us a good view of it on ifollow). Very foolish by him especially as he is an experienced player, shouldnt really be letting that kind of thing get to him. The penalty shout for you was certainly very close, they did show a replay of that and the original was just slightly outside but continued into the box, Pelly certainly gave the ref a decision which fortunately went our way.

Samba was quite a bit off his line for the penalty save but i dont really like how that rule is officiated with VAR so cant complain about that too much!

Really liking Naismith stepping out of the backline with the ball last few games. If we are going to play three at the back i think its imperitive someone does this and hes gone on several mazy dangerous runs.

Disagree on Bell. Think hes been average at best defensively and non existent going forward. Fred could have had a couple. Went down too easy hoping for a pen rather than going for the throat and really should have tried to be aggressive and attack a late header, ironically both from the right. But like the cut of his jib.

Should have won. Piss poor pen. You go down the middle lift it. But hes a country mile our best player so no grumbles.

Cardiff at home for us in what I’m sure NJ would call a rare home game ha!

In need of a bit of a performance here, not scored in 3 games on the spin now and I think it’s 4 of our last 5 and have been lacking quality in attacking areas. Far too much relying on Adebayo. Cornick has came in and we’ve kind of reverted to some tried and tested stuff with Rea, Clark coming back in as well.

As with all games conditions going to play a big part, they have gone with Moore and Collins up top which will be a handful

A good point for you in the end after a bad start.

Fulham will complain about your goal but sometimes you need a bit of luck!

That 2nd half was what I want to see from PNE, best half of the season. Fulham's £20m - £30m players didn't like it one bit.

First half I thought we did ok but we we're done by a set piece.

Ched Evans actually makes McAvoy's tactics work, you need an aggressive focal point to make space and disrupt. He's a proper striker, love him. Definitely need to sign some competition for him in January though.

Whiteman & Browne were both very good. McCann had a really good last 30 minutes too after looking lost for the previous 60.

Defence were pretty untroubled and didn't put a foot wrong. Iversen didn't need to be there. Earl the only real disappointment today.

Riis is just a God.

Actually happy on a Saturday afternoon for a change.

They should be glad, Riis' hand stopped the first one from going in.

Conditions been a big factor here as I suspect at many other grounds today. Struggled to get out and the balls forwards to Adebayo really not working as we’ve been into the wind. Cardiff been a handful an excellent cross into the box for their goal.

Compare and contrast with our crossing which has been poor. Hopefully conditions will hold and we can make the most of them this half

Pretty poor today, first time in a while we’ve just looked straight up not good enough. Played marginally better for a period in the second half, at 1-1 I thought we might snap out of the malaise and go and win it but no such luck. As it was another great delivery (only Clark seems capable of those for us) and it’s 2-1 and game was over really.

Only Clark, Naismith and perhaps Adebayo for the assist come away with any credit really. I defend him a lot and he does get some unfair criticism sometimes but Pelly was dreadful today, Bree…started the season so well but my god he was dire. Why he takes the corners I’ve no idea, consistently abysmal delivery.

Hell of a result for us. We were pretty dire until Bournemouth had a man sent off but to go away to 2nd in the league, be 2-0 with 6 mins left on the clock and come away with a point is phenomenal, even if they were down to 10.

Yesterday was so frustrating - we got back into the game after a terrible first 50 minutes and from the point of our equaliser, should've only been one winner. Yet, they go back into second gear at that point, drift and then go and concede from another ball in the box.

A lot of players, most of which were signed in the summer, are not pulling their weight per their expectation. Lansbury, Campbell, Muskwe and Jerome have been big disappointments. Pelly Ruddock, since he decided to 'play the field' this summer has been poor. Adebayo is in desperate need of a break, but there is no viable alternative that can push him. Bree started well, but has faded badly in recent weeks. Sluga and Lockyer have also been up and down.
