Yeah it was a strange one that an ostensibly fairly small local building company could support a sponsorship of a Championship club. Their website is pretty much dedicated to sponsoring us and various local boxers rather than anything they actually do! The sister company JB Interiors site seems a bit more legit I guess although even thats being liquidated i see. Deal was all done during the COVID summer where i guess there weren't many other options on the table maybe.

The other 2 companies that sponsor away & third kits are at least fairly solid looking

West Brom for us today as we start a period of games thats really going to sort out if we a playoff contender or pretender. Fun we can have that conversation and shows how far we have come but I think we will probably end up a bit short of whats required to be genuine playoff candidates but nice we are in that position than being at the bottom.

Probably not a better time to play them as they are in some really bad form and have been for a while. Seem to have a pretty uneven squad built for Ismaels style in some places and not others. Kind of hoping Sonny Bradley is back as I can see Andy Carroll giving the back 3 some problems, of our centre halves I think he is normally the one who looks most comfortable dealing with the bigger centre forwards.

Weve done a pretty good job of winning and picking up points without playing that well which came to a bit of a crashing end last week, hoping the little "rest" (oh the luxury of a whole week between games!) has been a refresher for us

Fancy you to win.

West Brom seem very poor on the road and hardly seem to score .

Having just been outside for a bit, whichever team handles conditions better today will come out on top. Absolutely foul.

Think we are both quite direct sides, won’t be a pretty game that’s for sure and I suspect not many games will be this weekend

Pitch looking very decent and green, from wide angle despite conditions. They did show a close up of some standing water and mud too.

Interesting attack minded lineup

Good win for us, puts some distance between us and 22nd with Peterborough losing at Derby.

Conditions cleared up considerably just before kick off, not before I got absolutely soaked through, so conditions didn’t play that big a role as I thought.

Rode our luck at times first half, most of our issues created by ourselves it must be said. Grant missed an absolute sitter that I’m not sure he will ever understand how. Seemed shocked he missed and didn’t react to the follow up very well. We had a great chance too where Jerome hit the post and a couple of half chances too.

Set pieces are so important to us and Jerome planted his well. Campbell deserved his goal, was my man of the match way before that but that goal sealed it. Becoming a very good looking signing, gets through a ton of work, loves a tackle and adding on ball quality and goals to his game. A lot to like.

West Brom really lost their way after we scored the first. Seem very fragile mentally and started snapping at each other culminating in a bit of a scrap between 2 of them after the second. Some fundamental issues there under the surface I think

Dont understand why Shea got dropped - on performance basis at least. Wasnt overly impressed with Steer and there was plenty of confusion at the back that was probably down to the change and uncertainty amongst each other, so thats on Jones.

Thankfully WBA couldnt take advantage and a great midfield display from Pelly and Campbell turned and controlled the game. Jerome played well and Muskwe had his best game so far too was a real threat at times. Good performance.

NJ on 3CR basically seemed to say Steer was just a better keeper!

Told you it would be 3 point.

;)

Great win for your mob. Was rubbing my hands in glee at halftime as relegation looked assured but bam. Grrrrrrrrr

Interesting you thought this about Muskwe. I thought he really struggled to make any impact really and was quite pleased he got taken off. Jones took him off in a bit of a fit of rage after he gave the ball away on the edge of the area and I noticed that Pelly had a quiet word as he went off. I don’t like him in that number 10/midfield as I don’t think he’s good in tight spaces, needs room to run I think. But maybe I brought my preconceived idea to it and missed the good he did.

Im like that with Bell. I never see him do anything good with the ball, almost never finds one of our players. Im sure some of that is my negativity and looking for it from him and im sure others are just as guilty, but not under my spotlight.

I did just say Muskwe had his best game - not he was good ;-) He had a decent flick at goal and got into dangerous positions at times. He did fade tho and i feel thats mental not physical. I have a feeling theres a player in there, if we can let it loose and find him some confidence.

We're somehow still only 3 points off the play-offs even though we've been shit three games in a row and are down to the barebones. Guess it helps that two of those shit performances came against Reading and Barnsley as we were able to get the wins, but I can't see us staying this close given how many games we still have to play in such a short amount of time and how small our squad is.

Cov should be - and im sure are - over the moon with their return to the Championship. Done exceptionally well in being consistent an re-establishing themselves at the level, even if they should drop away slightly.

We’re basically you lot, just one season behind. Our paths have been very similar since we were both in League Two together.

West Brom were poor yesterday - a shadow of the side I saw back in August that were well organised and looking very much like the top 2 side they should be considering their playing staff and resources. They now have just one point in the last 5 games.

The conditions, especially in the first half, were diabolical, especially for defenders. None of them got to grips with the wind and constant bobbles. Hence the number of mistakes from both sides. Bartley, Ajayi and Clarke were all over the place and Grant and Carroll missed countless chances.

Luton however were very good in patches, although before HT, they could've been a few goals down. They took the few chances that came their direction. The football though was very agricultural from both sides - the ball probably finished with ice on!

Campbell is looking like a hell of a signing. For me, his value is going up to around £4-5M now, from someone who really struggled to make an impact at the start of the season.

Seems the mad house known as Outlaws has a full 'discussion' with mixed views. Im in the 'if i was Shea id feel a bit let down by Jones' camp.

Thats Jones job tho and cant complain about what we are acheiving under his leadership
