As Adebayo went off he had an egg sized lump on the outside of his thigh, that he kept looking at as he lifted his shorts and showed the bench. Hope that is a quick thing

Please go up Luton, I don't want us to lose to you twice again next season.

Thanks. But we're gonna stop where we are so we can beat The Golden Shower twice too.

Random thing I’ve noticed we seem to do a lot this season that I can’t quite fathom the reason why. Faking the kick off?

For some reason the player taking kick off fakes kicking the ball causing both teams to enter each others half. Ref stops it and makes everyone go back to their own half. Second kick off gets taken normally and we carry on. Don’t quite understand the benefit to the kick off team really, there no free kick to be called and the kick off gets taken again (invariably with both teams in each others half before the kick is taken anyway). Just seems a weird thing to do with little to no benefit but maybe I’m missing something

I wondred the same. Lansbury seemed to really enjoy it :).........Our whole kick off is a very weird tactic. We lose the ball every single time.

Its like a thirty year throwback in football time when everything else is modern and different

Robbed a point from Preston, really poor performance from us while they were probably the best side to come to Cov so far this season. Not a fan of some of their ‘tactics’ however, especially the persistent and aggressive fouling of O’Hare. Keith Stroud is a joke a of a ref and did very little to stop it.
Only caught the first half.

We just don't convert enough chances.

Bruce may just squeeze in another sacking in time to replace Woy and tip up at the Yellow Bellies......and get fired again before May.

Bringing in a good manager has been quite nice.
And Archer. Hopefully you have a better showing at Deepdale because what I witnessed at Bloomfield Road was tragic and didn't actually give me much delight.

We were utter gash but if Whiteman didn't miss that sitter then it could have been a dull score draw.

Big improvement under Lowe but still missing too many pieces of the jigsaw to string wins together. Big chance for a reset this summer.

Archer is very, very good but he's cost us points in recent games, still always expectant of something with him in the side though.

Bournemouth at home on Saturday, probably another draw.

Bauer is out, Lindsay suspended, so it looks like Huntington will be re-added to the squad, maybe even starting. Although I'm hoping we see Diaby get 90 minutes.

Probably the same team bar the Lindsay replacement, unless Riis comes back in for Evans.

Looking like Huddersfield are going to go 18 unbeaten tonight, being 2-0 up at home to Peterborough. Think I got them wrong in pre season, signings seemed to be pretty underwhelming (including Pearson from us) but seems to have clicked there lately.

Peterborough surely down

Late goal for Forest really opens the door for us tomorrow, beat Boro and we look to take the driving seat (albeit temporarily) for 6th spot. Really big week for us with Boro obviously and then Coventry on Tuesday. Go some way to clarifying our playoff credentials

Lost 2-1, listened on the radio and sounded a terrible, bitty type game that was very stop start with no flow to it .

Can’t comment in detail as only listened but the worry is injuries are really piling up. Forced into 3 changes here and few people saying Adebayo only looked half fit too. Not sure what sort of midfield we will be putting out in midweek. Campbell, Naismith will be big misses

Ref couldnt get hold of the game and was poor but both ways. Hard to tell when watching on tv but Eli was either expertly marshalled - Paddy McNair was excellent as was Howson - or poor. Prob a combo.

We offered little and to late and Boro worthy winners without looking word beaters. Would have been nice to see how they coped if we scored in our one ten min patch mid second half, but we offered too little too late. Game disrupted by a bad ref, lots of stop starts, injuries game management etc. Jerome could easily have gone for a straight red if it wasnt for their guy having a high foot too. They like to surround the ref and niggle from the touchline but thats the modern game. Bullshit along with the constant diving - which we do too.

On to the next one and still in touch. Games piling up on the players but will for everyone and we have decent depth ad quality in depth.

High point. Return of Jordan Clark who i really rate and played right mid/wb when hecame on was by far out most creative and dangerous player. Awesome to have him back, as we lose others

Per the above, we are really teetering with our squad at the moment. Certain areas of the pitch, especially central midfield, we just can’t get a consistent XI out there. The Covid break and the resulting catch up is starting to hurt us.

That said, not a huge amount of damage done - we are very much in that mix just one point off the top 6. It’s really going to go down to the wire.

Without trying to look wise after the event, I thought we were a central midfield player short all season and we didn’t really address that in the window. We have gone and got Snodgrass now who is still getting up to speed but it feels like this sort of situation has been coming for a little while given how light we have been in that area and some reliance on players who are becoming quite injury prone (Berry). I guess when working with our budget you can’t address every possible eventuality but even before yesterday we were playing Hylton (obviously a forward) and Osho (a centre half) in midfield by choice. Now we’ve got big issues if Osho and Campbell are not fit. We’ve done well with all members of the squad contributing this season but think this might be stretching things a bit too far this week.

I wonder if there is some regret about sending Rea out on loan, hasn’t really seemed to make much of a difference for Wigan so far and I think could have been useful in our current situation (for me Osho has not been any better than him in defensive midfield).

A good Glen Rea yes. Current/recent one isnt even close.

I think the address we made - prob not being able to attract and afford the right now quality creative CM required - was a change if tactics

We went to a back five and get the ball forward quicker so our mids became more harriers disruptors and ball winners

Another one for Iversen's collection, his compilation video this season will be ridiculous.

Bambo Diaby also looks like Claude Davis reincarnated, pace, ability on the ball, built like The Rock, a potential horror show waiting to happen, and just all round entertaining. He'll probably be my favourite player.

2 defeats in 15 league games for Lowe, few too many draws but decent building blocks.

Last season Rea didn’t have a great season but this i personally felt was playing quite well before losing his place in the team when he picked up a knock. Came back against Bristol City shortly before going on loan and didn’t have the best game ill admit but was his first game since November so a touch unfair to write him off on that.

Not sure shape has much to do with it because he’s played in the midfield when we’ve played a back 3 this season quite a few times and Osho going there has shown there’s a place for a DM in the shape. He played in some good performances this season, noteably the 5-0 demolition of Coventry where he was very good and key to the tactics of that game in holding position in midfield and allowing Clark, Berry and those ahead of him to wreak havoc with the press. As a centre half and probably overall promise as a player Osho is clearly better but as an option at DM he’d be welcomed right now, indeed we’d be able to replicate the midfield of probably our best performance of the season if he was around right now.

Anyway somewhat moot as he’s not around and seemingly not settled at Wigan either. I guess we will be hoping Pelly is fit for the Coventry game so at least we can have maybe him, berry, Clark to choose from if Campbell and Osho can’t go. Has to be said I don’t think any player we have there right now is 100% fit as the schedule has just been brutal.
