Forest at home tonight, we've forgotten how to win at Deepdale and this lot seem strong on the road.

Can only see a defeat really, probably a ground out 1-0/ 2-1 with Grabban scoring.

Might as well give the likes of Lindsay, McCann, Ledson & Diaby a run out. The Reading defeat was pretty much a season ender.

We've fucking battered Forest there, a point feels like a defeat.

Absolutely shocking miss by Archer and I would have backed him to finish his chance before that as well.

Forest should be buzzing with that result.

Huge win for us tonight away at Bristol City. Hamer makes such a difference, two quality assists.

Thinking we have some injury issues or maybe Jones has over thought it a bit tonight because on face value there’s only 1 midfield player in our 11 tonight. Would assume one of Osho or Naismith stepping in to midfield but not readily apparent. With Hylton/Adebayo/Cornick it’s got a bit of an unbalanced look to it, not sure how those 3 operate in the same side together

John Busby - putting a hell of a refereeing performance for both sides here in this first half.

I very rarely talk about refs but…not sure what this guy is doing. Shot from Stoke takes an enormous deflection off Lockyer, and he gives a goal kick, then Bell gets absolutely bodied to the floor from a charge in the back from Campbell and he waves play on! Never seen anything quite like it and that’s just 2 decisions, plenty of other questionable ones.

About the only thing to talk about at the game itself is very much lacking in any quality.

Why does Jones tinker so much. Swapped Burke and Lockyer tonight which sounds minor but changes the attack balance down the right completely. Campbell booked so mid could be light. Been impressed with Hylton in the 10 role. Lets hope we can step up second half and put some ptessure on them and see how they handle that

Not sure it’s been a choice rather than necessity of the lack of midfield players.

I think Burke and Lockyer may have rarely (if ever) played with each other. Normally one plays the right centre half spot whilst someone else (normally Osho or Bradley) plays in the centre of the 3, he’s had to play both tonight due to the midfield situation forcing Osho into there so I think that’s why rather than through choice. I’m assuming we are really down to the bare bones with central midfield players to play like this tonight.

Great and richly deserved goal for Hylton tonight puts us ahead. Perfect away performance from us SO FAR. Long way to go

This Danny Hylton performance, like he’s turned back the clock. A nice goal, a yellow card for “excessive celebration” after the second and some great moments of pure shithousery. A glimpse into what he used to be.

Great win, Jones will revel in it and we deserved it on the basis of the second half. Wasn’t a great game but we missed some really presentable chances especially Adebayo. Made it a bit hard for ourselves albeit was a great strike from them. Such a likeable team we have (from a Luton fan perspective, not very likeable for opposition perspective), work their bollocks off for it.

Ha, Blackburn are in freefall, they can't buy a goal.

Lovely late own goal by the scum as well.

Nice evening bar Burnley winning.

Confident, outstanding, technical goals tonight from two players who perhaps havent been confident or outstanding - until now.

Watching them back they are both amazing skillsets that if done by higher calibre players would have the colour studio ex pros purring, if they dropped so low as the Championship. Keeper doesnt blink, let alone move for either. Both are swept in, controlled, accurate half volleys rather than just lucky foot swings.

Luton's team is full of very good athletes but limited footballers playing a physical percentages game. Hit it long, have two players chase it down and others charge into the area to get on the end of the cross, make the game a physical battle and with Championship referees you can get away with blocking runners, rugby tackles, pushes and shirt pulling. Fair dos if we were winning games I'm sure I'd be delighted. They didn't play much football tonight but the conditions helped their type of game and apart from Joe Allen no other Stoke player was prepared to go toe to toe with them. I can see now what Jones'footballing philosophy is and why he was doomed to fail at Stoke. Whoever researched him as a manager and thought he could get a tune out of a Stoke squad that was in no shape or form filled with athletes needs to explain their thinking on this one. However good a manager you are you are not going to turn the likes of Vokes, Ince, Clucas, Woods, McLean, Batth, Adam into athletes.

*************

Agree, much as they completely outplayed us tonight I would hate Stoke to be playing that way. They were a horrible team. We're we that bad under Pulis I kept wondering. I don't think we were. I don't think Pulis played kick and rush and didn't fill his teams with athletes rather than football players.

Very biased and one eyed there .

Stoke were a very dirty and nasty side to play against .

And the typical “ref was crap” from a losing team/set of supporters.

Coventry away on Saturday, hopefully pushing 3k in the away end.

Not sure if Bauer will make this one and Cunningham & Barkhuizen are still out so it might be Earl at LWB who fucking does my head in.
He should be powering past anyone who stands in his way but he constantly checks back and shows zero bravery, i'm hoping it clicks for him at some point but right now he winds me up no end. The only other option is trying Sinclair out there.

Unchanged other that I think, Evans was a beast on Tuesday and Riis needs a decent rest, Archer obviously starts.

Derby for us today, Rooney has done an amazing job to get that group in with a genuine shot at staying up albeit they are still a bit adrift if Reading. In some ways may be similar to us in that maybe they don’t have all the talent but have got a group of players who are willing to do anything to win a game so might be whose will is stronger that comes out on top today.

Hoping we have a few more midfield players available today, I saw Berry was back in training in the clubs video of training from yesterday, Pelly was there too. Snodgrass only signed yesterday so might be too early for him but a good option to have on the bench.

after the industry and endeavour shown by our midfield in the last game, all be it in shocking conditions for both teams, PRM can not be considered a shoe-in anymore...

Id say PRM is more of a shoe in than ever. Rarely loses the ball these days, has a decent range of pass, holds the ball magnificently when under pressure, unbelievably strong, draws in players and finds others in space. Some of what you used to say on him Oakey was fair.....back a few seasons.... . Give him a chance and watch him as if he was a new signing with rose tinted specs. Throw the turd ones away. Ill try do the same with Bell who almost bever finds ine if our okayers when under any sort of pressure

This feels like it’s getting a bit silly now up to 6th and games in hand on those above. Just absolutely flying at the moment and just grinding out results. Probably getting carried away a bit thinking of the playoffs but if you can’t now when can you?!

Not the best game, limited chances for both but bit of class and a cool head from Hylton to roll it in and an overall solid defensive display. Worry is midfield injuries beginning to stack and Campbell looked flat out toward the end. Adebayo looked like had a hamstring type issue which is also a concern but feels like the whole group of players feel a part of it and as Hylton has showed the last 2 games are willing and able to step up when needed.

Robbed a point from Preston, really poor performance from us while they were probably the best side to come to Cov so far this season. Not a fan of some of their ‘tactics’ however, especially the persistent and aggressive fouling of O’Hare. Keith Stroud is a joke a of a ref and did very little to stop it.

Quite a lot of drama at the end it seems.

Luton going up maybe - just watch some of those super stars in the PL rock up to the Kennel!
