You need to be a bit more positive. 4 points from the opening two games is the stuff of dreams really. Yes there were concerning signs yesterday but at least it didn’t end in defeat.

The way I look at it is we’re 4 points closer to safety than we were 8 days ago. We’re 4 points above the relegation zone as it stands so as long as we can keep that cushion that’s all that matters.

When you can only attract the standard of players we can, staying up has to be the primary objective, and 4 points from a possible 6 is a good start towards that goal.

So all our new signings are relegation standard?

Hmm, I think we're too good to go down..

We are going to make a lot of bad teams look good this season (no disrespect meant there) but the amount of time we allow the opposition to get back into their shape means we are going to struggle to break teams down and our preference to play tippy tappy stuff at the back will mean teams will puck us off.

But we're too good to go down....aren't we?

More or less the same as Pools, only our tippy tappy stuff is played in midfield, boring us to tears.

I think there’s a reason they are here and that’s because no other football league club wanted them. It’s pretty common knowledge that for 99.9% of professional footballers, we are their 92nd choice of league club.

Hopefully they have enough about them to keep us up.

I'm not so sure. I think that in the main; the players we now have are not as good as the ones we had 12 months ago. we have sold or let leave some very good L2/L1 level players and replaced them in the main with journeymen or kids.

I like Stockdale as a person...he comes over as totally honest and never shirks a question, but I'm seriously doubting his tactical awareness. Big big questions of the coaching staff as well. I see nothing to suggest that they know what they're trying to do. The start to this season has been totally unacceptable.
I still see enough in that squad for a midtable finish personally, but not with RS leading it. Totally agree regarding his tactical awareness, it’s non-existent, and he won’t change his formation and zonal marking.

Agree again on the last point, to start at home to Crewe so defensively minded and then still go 2-0 down in only 22 mins was criminal.

I hear a few saying he should go now, and I would like him to personally, I think if things haven’t improved at all within the next 2-3 league games then he needs to go. Giving him 10 games for me is too many, as we could be cut adrift already playing as we have been.

It's not easy to tell if you're just winding people up or not, but it's really going over the top now.

If you only ever have such defeatist things to say about the club, then why do you still support them?

You've got us at your plaice on Saturday. We haven't won yet either, but we are not playing badly. Good following coming too; you can improve next week after you've gifted us 3 points!

The Grimsby Reaper is also a factor here; we beat a team and they sack their manager on the Monday, used to be a common thing.

Because I believe that if anyone can keep us up it’s Simpson.

And whilst I still think we may struggle this season, there’s always that dream to hold on to that we can stay up and maybe even have a mid table push.

You're the only Carlisle fan out there who thinks we could struggle and end up in a relegation fight.

Moxon is a quality signing.

And what kind of pathetic dream of yours is that? Staying up and maybe even push for mid table?? Hahaha

Get out of here!

We can do more than that mate.

This was the same sort of thing our fans were saying about BBM. That he was a likeable guy. Came across well In interviews and dealings with fans. They wanted to give him a chance. (Well, until it transpired he shafted us out of a contract extension and tried to get us or buy him out of his contract...) I digress. It might just be me but I wouldn't mind an 'orrible bastard of a manager if it meant he was competent and got results. Steve Evans epitomises that for me. Seems a bellend but mostly very good at managing in leagues one and two.
I genuinely hope that we pull a blinder and win the next 6 games and all looks rosey and all this talk of Stockdale out is forgotten. But really, I can't see it. Play as we have been and I can see us getting to the end of August without a league win.

Used to happen a lot whenever we beat a team too, I mean if you lose to us next weekend it's surely a sackable offence due to how awful we are :bg:! Joking aside, we have a very good recent record against yourselves, unbeaten in the last 10 with 8 wins. In all honesty I can see that coming to an end on Saturday though.

Mid table would be an excellent first full season back for Simpson given the shit tip he took over in February. And yes it’s about as good as we can dream about at the moment.

Moxon has started promising, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, he was playing village football last season so it’s a lot to ask of him to carry the team to greater heights on his own.

You mean like John Coleman? That went well didn't it?

For the record, I never liked BBM... was full of shit as a player, and hardly ever passed forward, which carried on when he somehow jammily became our Manager. I have more than a feeling that when he was appointed ; he was so cheap that the Board were tempted. Of course...Bottomley changed all that with the sneaky contract extension and a huge pay rise...almost like hush money. It certainly wasn't BBM's doing ...it was a cover for Bottomley's ludicrous running of the club, and the whopping pay rise he gave himself.

Our only good defender and captain Morgan Feeney has now dropped in training. Broken foot apparently and out for months.

Makes us really weak in that area. Unless we sign some quality over the next few weeks it’s going to be a long hard slog until January.

Yes that's a real blow for us, oh well you're now right about it going to be a struggle.

We need new ownership very quickly or we'll be done.

I was actually being honest this time, our key defender and captain is out injured now so a lousy season is ahead for us.

Unlike yours where tinpot Barrow who are supposed to be shit and going down are now favourites for promotion and going on great cup runs etc

Well enjoy it while it lasts because although you'll have good times you will be back at home in the non league soon enough and whereas we'll just plod on and struggle in L2 at least we'll remain a football league club.

I’m not. I’m delighted to be in league 2 with Barrow. It could have been a lot worse the way last season was going.

Just curious, if Carlisle do end up getting relegated this season, where do you think Carlisle would end up next season in the National League? Playoffs, midtable, or mired in another relegation battle?

I'm wondering if hellogregory would continue to complain about Carlisle possibly being in another relegation battle in the National League, or if this is only about Carlisle being in a relegation battle in League Two.

The 1st target is 50 points, with mid table is probably the target for the season, but at present we're just taking it one game at a time. A win at Sutton could build a nice 9 point gap to the relegation zone

I meant that in his mind they're already relegated from NL
