I'm wondering if hellogregory would continue to complain about Carlisle possibly being in another relegation battle in the National League, or if this is only about Carlisle being in a relegation battle in League Two.

Hellogregory reckons that we'll keep getting relegated down the non leagues until we're bottom of the lowest regional non league division possible, where no club can go down any further and we'll be like one of those awful Highland teams who lose every game and concede hundreds of goals each season.

He would absolutely love that..

Well it would depend on whether the owners would take getting back into the league seriously, or continue to cut the budget further. If it’s the latter and we make up a team with 11 signings from village football, then yes I could see a further relegation battle. But if we get a decent then budget then I’d have to see how the recruitment goes.

I won't worry about that. Huntington is that good a signing it's got Paul Simpson practicing the trophy lift in the mirror.

That's who came to my mind ha ha.
I am so sad for them because they've been relegated to the North Caledonian League and I'm fearing they won't find that any easier. Prettiest ground I've ever been to.

Another point closer to safety.

But with Barclay now being added to the ever growing list of injured defenders and out for 2 months, we really are down to the bare bones. One more injury and we’ll be down to putting midfielders at centre back.

Oh yeah, for sure. And whilst I do think we’ll end up in and amongst the relegation mire, 3 games in is way too early for the relegation thread. But I didn’t start it.

More's the point, nobody wants to get to know BTTF any sooner than they absolutely have to.

When we have undesirable away days or a free weekend I often go to non league games as a groundhop. I think theres's a good chance I can do it every other week next season.

So is it too early to start getting to know BTTF and the rest of the brotherhood?

they've all moved to the other forum though.
There's only a Scunthrope fan and the National League North lot still here.

No rush to go over there again with what passes as discussion and "banter"

As I said last season, if Carlisle get relegated, I won’t be moving to the non league forum or any other non league forum. I just won’t do it.

Rochdale.

Hope you stay up and it's actually Creepy Crawley and another southern based club such as Colchester or Stevenage who go down. Cannot see it being Stevensge unfortunately though
It’s a good job there aren’t any other southern clubs down near the bottom…

Pools, Rochdale, Creepy have ourselves a little three way battle of the shittest :box:
Don’t even think it’s a battle personally. Us and one of the other two, all depends who Rochdale appoint really.

Worst start in over 100 years. That bar the 60s, early 70s and 2010s has been a struggle anyway... (Yes, that's why our crowds are shite and the likes of Burnley, City and Oldham attracted so many Dale based fans).

A worry. I might be basing this on blinkered optimism but I don't think our squad is that bad. If we get the appointment right we should be alright. I've said for years though that I reckon we'd drop at some point so who knows what will happy. What I do know is us playing so abysmally, even 5 games in, is a good way of freeing up weekends for mlre.enjoyable stuff. No away games for now - cba. Cost, train strikes and likely dung football.

We have some points in the bank yes, but today was extremely concerning.
Our one win came on the opening day against a really off Crawley team. Welcome yes, but maybe just papering over the cracks. Since then there’s been a few worrying signs, but today it went down a few notches, we looked like the shit of last season. Ineffective all over the pitch.

If we don’t end this winless run over the next 3 games (Gillingham, Rochdale, Harrogate), then we could find ourselves in big trouble going into some tough games after.

I am expecting us to be dragged right into this over the coming weeks and months.

First six pointer of the season next week. Dale v Crawley.

I'll be honest. If we win I would be gobsmacked!
