Im starting to believe that if it wasn't for all our injuries, then we'd be the best or at least 2nd best team in the division.

You don't know the quality of players we have who are out injured and our young bench the other night was full of our youth team players and they still managed to beat you and look good too.

What do you think of that then Fish?

40 points by mid season would put you on course for 80 points.

Or are you expecting only two draws after the new year to reach the magic 42?

You’ve lost me. What makes you think i expect only 2 points after the new year?

And 40 points by Xmas is what I said I’d like. I’d also like a night with Michelle Keegan. Doesn’t mean either are going to happen.

The 42 point target.

That was a direct quote from our manager saying that 42 points is the target for safety. I don’t think he was saying he doesn’t want any more than that.

So the team is on a downward trajectory and getting worse in your view then? Second best when everyone’s fit… it wasn’t long ago you were saying we’re the best team and going to be champions.

I don't want us to get too carried away at this stage, finishing second would still be good enough.

I get the impression mate that if you had a night with Michelle Keegan you would say your were disappointed and she needs to work on her oral!

Another point closer to safety. About the only positive to take from todays inept performance.

How on earth are there teams below us!

6 points in 11 games this season and we aint in a relegation spot!

Since Yems was removed from the role we have had 1 league win in 15 games. 7 points in a third of a season.

Wagmi have come in and more than doubled the budget. They ain't getting what they are paying for.

There's a baccy paper separating 4 teams, none of us at the bottom should be remotely worried...yet.

I'm struggling to remember a season like this one where so many teams have so few points. Only reason we aren't cut adrift yet is there's some other dross in the bottom 7 or 8. If it carries on the points required to stay up are going to be really low.
Surely though one or two of us will start actually putting a run together soon!?

5 points between 24th and 17th. Loads of footy to be played and loads of sides who could get dragged in.

Stockport County.
I'm a Challinor advocate and want him to stay for a good while longer, not out of blind faith or just because he did a great job last season but I believe he's as a good a man for the job for now.

However of the 5 teams currently below us, 3 have sacked managers, one looks at that brink at Crawley with their owner coming over being disappointed and witnessing a defeat and the other is the owners son.

We've not got a point away from home yet and our next three away are Bradford, Salford and Tranmere.

Kevin’s Daughter.
No she's not. She was in Coronation Street.

I kind of thought HG was showing his age a bit with his choice of cultural reference for attractive women, or women who would have been known back in the day as 'top totty'. In my head she was of the era of FHM, lad-culture, Tim Lovejoy and soccerettes. She's still only 35 though so maybe my concept of what counts as the distant past is a bit out of alignment.

She's married to Mark Wright who you'll remember from Crawley's previous attempt to get a celebrity footballer.

No one here watch Brassic on Sky?

I’ve been watching it. Mixed reviews I’d say. But that’s why she was at the forefront of my mind when I was thinking of an analogy to go along with wanting 40 points by Christmas.

I’m considering unwatching and leaving this thread. Only considering it at the moment. Barrow fans were talking about leaving weeks ago, and we are now level on points with them.

No I’ve decided to stay put for now.

Having looked at our next four fixtures:
Doncaster - H
Leyton Orient - H
Stockport - A
Tranmere - A

All tough, certainly tougher than the run of fixtures we’ve had so far.

If we come out of that Tranmere game still in the top 10, then I’ll maybe consider my future in this thread.
