I’m working outside tonight (my work is on the docks) and I’ve just heard a massive roar which I guess is Lincoln scoring, in the Mickey Mouse trophy that no one gives a shit about, absolute sad bunch of fucks.
Seen a pic of the Osmond tonight, it's more than they used to bring for league matches pre-Cowleys.

I've always thought that you can treat attendance for this competition and how your team does as 2 separate things. I'm glad we're only pulling in crowds sub 1,000 crowds, but I'm also pleased to see us win both the home games and progress to the 2nd Round.

We'll probably slip to 2nd once Blackpool play their games, meaning we'll end up with an away draw to a group winner.

If I was being pedantic, I'd question that as I have all the followings, but can't be bothered getting into the same conversation as always with any Grimsby fan.

It's been a while since we played up at your place to be fair - I'm sure you'd have bought a few if you were at ours. Many changes to your starting XI tonight?

Not interested in going to watch these games, but very encouraging to see such a young Crewe team beat a much more experienced Harrogate team, 10 of the 11 that finished the game academy players 20 years old or younger, the other an 18 year old development player we picked up in the summer.

Comfortably beaten by Northampton. It doesn't matter in that we played youth team players and fringe players needing minutes but it is concerning how short of striking options we are.
We could have played all night and not scored. Jevani Brown is having a miserable time with us, looks entirely bereft of any goal threat.

A really good win tonight against Barrow who are 3rd in league 2. Lots of changes for both teams and opportunities for academy players from both sides. Take nothing away from Fleetwood who have given themselves a chance of progressing, just a matter of facing Bolton away in the final group game.....

How many Lincoln were there tonight? Thought it looked like it must have been about 700/800 off the pic I saw but just seen we Tweeted the overall attendance as around 1200.

7 changes from the weekend for us, which is pretty much the max rotation we had at our disposal after injures. Very inexperienced attack, probably looking at about 25 EFL starts combined across Luker, Barrington, Obikwu and Gardner.

Yay we are through without kicking a ball so we get another pointless last group game against Wrexham.

You probably had more away fans last night than we had home, we’d have brought barely anybody along because you know, there’s still boycott on.

It’s odd to me that some clubs are starting to attract bigger numbers whilst most clubs are taking barely any. Birmingham took over 3k to Shrewsbury last night & Wrexham fairly big home crowds whilst we had around 500 home fans in a game where Lincoln brought more fans that I can ever remember them bringing for years. Maybe the interest in this shambles of a competition has grown, can’t understand why but each to their own.

The two clubs you mention there are outliers though. Birmingham are playing in this competition for the first time in 30 years where they won it, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those fans don't actually know about the boycotts.

As for Wrexham, that's the fault of them being Wrexham. This will be a big chance for a lot of people that enjoy the documentary to attend their games.

It was something like 450 in a crowd of 1,300.

Birmingham apparently had that many because of their loyalty points system and it was on easy and cheap way to top them up (suppose they could have bought the ticket and then not bothered turning up).

A professional 3-1 win over West Ham's kids last night despite making 9 changes to the team that beat Carlisle on Saturday.

Looks like we've found a system that works.

What was most pleasing was the fact our kids were better than theirs, with Tom King getting his first senior goal for the club having come on as a sub. I remember Tom from when he played against my eldest son's team in the Cheltenham Youth League Cup semi-final at u12. His team won 5-1 and he scored all 5 goals. Really hope he goes out on loan somewhere to get some senior experience and he could then make us a decent bit of bunce.

We’re playing Leicester u21 tonight, which is totally irrelevant really other than Cedwyn Scott being back in the team after his mental health issues and leave of absence. Which is really nice news.

As with last season a dead rubber against Wrexham with both qualifying.

We’ve made 10 changes but unlike last year it’s not a load of kids such is the change in the depth we have.

Harper debuts which is a boost, Sam Hart returns after 3 months out injured which is a boost and all three strikers aside from Stockley who is rested start, with Croasdale, Hall, Cover and Sang also at home.

No youths which is a surprise at all in the squad and unlike last season when we ended up with 9 kids on we’ve got the likes of Ethan Chislett, Ben Hennigan and Ronan Curtis to call on.

They’ve obviously got lots of depth too so should be a good and enjoyable one, kind of like these games as zero pressure on the result so can just watch it fairly chilled!

Will be an interesting one. We've made 11 changes, although we've got some interesting players playing including two debuts for Josh Adam who we picked up from Man City and Matty James who just signed on a short term contract after leaving Bristol City last summer.

With nothing really riding on the game (apart from a home tie next round) it's really just a glorified friendly.

Pretty much but should be a good contest with both teams having a lot of depth to their respective squads.

Not overly fussed about the result, we are as good away as we are at home so can enjoy it without the stress of points on the line.

With so many changes in both teams Im not expecting the best football- both sides might be a bit disjointed.

Neither side will want to lose. As you say will be nice to watch without any real stress over the result.

The worst team in the football league are 1-0 down away at Morecambe.
