Decent first half from Rochdale, had a couple of good chances but unfortunately for them they've got Devante Rodney trying to stick them in.

Dunno what shit for brains was doing for the first sending off, karate kick to the moy, deserved red and they fell to bits, deserved win for us, bit of a novel concept for us having defenders that can defend, Dan Dodds looked fantastic.

They're 2-0 up at home against a side bottom of the table who are also down to 10 men, after a run of three defeats in four so hardly imperious form.
It’s a 100% record and a +2 goal difference over the last 1 game. Exactly the same imperious form as we are currently on.

Yep also thought Edon Pruti was very composed, Hartley was good in the centre of the 3 directing stuff. Just relieved to get the win really. The players we've signed this window don't look bad at all on first/second glances but we've been here before, 1 win, lose 2 or 3 on the trot.

Aye despite both forwards scoring we still need something a bit different upfront, Rajjy the tyre kicker reckons we've bids in for 'four top strikers' two at League 1 level, 2 at this level, believe it when we see it.

Rochdale fans seemed a bit aggrieved with the first sending off, haven't seen it back yet but it look like he took his head off?

There wasn't any malice in it but that's not the rules, Hamilton is what 6'4 and he caught him flush, misjudged the bounce I think and cleaned him out.

Great win for us today, feel like it was a perfect time to face Orient, that said we still had to turn up and perform on the day and we did just that. We came out of the blocks quickly, established a 2 goal lead and the game largely felt done, particularly after the sending off.

Orient came out second half and had a bit of a go, we weathered that and had a few chances of our own to add a third before Norris did just that in stoppage time.

Glad we were able to put on a winning performance in front of a big crowd, hopefully we'll see a few more returns after that. Great afternoon, big win, sees the gap over 4th increase to 13 points.

Hamilton did what no pool player has done this season, Put his head in where it hurts.
Well done lad.

He's always up for the battle but my opinion changes on him every week. He's not great in front of goal, not a lot of movement but he is a beast in the air. Him and Umerah seem to go for the same balls a lot of the time. I'm not in a rush to send Hamilton back but rather have someone else with a bit more nous about him starting with Josh.

Unreal, Mr Magoo from Rochdale had this to say on it..

"That was a harsh red card. He certainly didn’t catch him in the fact as his rolling on the pitch suggested. Not sure why EEL didn’t just go to head the ball but I certainly don’t think it was a red card. Very frustrating when these should already be down to 10."

That result has been coming for a few weeks, played a makeshift backline (4 games in a row we've had 3 different centre back pairings) - Wellens got the team wrong, should've played Jordan Brown at right back and kept Adam Thompson as centre half and combine that with our form in front of goal and the team just behind were always going to get one over us. Jordan Roberts in particular tore us to shreds for the first 25mins.

The sending off killed the game, 3 of the last 4 games we've picked up needless reds and bans which was part of our problem today. Lazy from El-Mizouni.

Showed some fight in the second half, had a few half chances and one off the line but couldn't get back into the game. The last 15mins we ran out of steam.

Beckles and James back next week, my god we missed them both today and I'd expect Harry Smith to start as well because we need to try something different now in the attacking third.

Another big win for us, hopefully getting some momentum now to pull us away from the bottom 2, some huge game coming up against crawley and Rochdale.

Giving ourselves a chance

Just been on the Dale forum & read that post.
Bloody hell, that challenge should have come with a 2 year jail sentance, also, they thought our first goal was offside
Anyway, first half was awful, but much better, even before the sending off.
Defence looks more solid & balanced, with Dodds outstanding.
Midfield still pretty crap, but Dolan takes a cracking corner/freekick.
Up front Hamilton & Umerah work their balls off,but are just too similar.
Another Midfielder & forward & we might be ok.

Sutton v Crawley is off
A bit miffed with SUFC. Rang Friday to see if inspection likely, young lady at club totally clueless!
E-mailed SUFC SLO who said pitch looked fine.
Disappointed that called off when on route from York!
Now, I know my own club have been shite in the past, but surely getting a refs opinion on Friday about 2pm wasn't too bad an idea? Tinpot FC Mark 2

Seems to be a few late call offs .

Refs not wanting to go too early maybe hoping conditions would improve or does there need to be a set deadline unless there are extreme circumstances?

Surely you knew the weather was bad across the country all week? It would have been hard to get an opinion on the Friday as the frost covers were down (which in of itself is a clue that there is a chance the game would be in doubt).

We’ve seen Crawley fans crying on Twitter that the decision to call the game off was too early, it seems you cannot win here.

The club did all they could to get the game on, however the match referee wasn’t happy with one section of the pitch, near the players tunnel, which hadn’t thawed out properly.

Agree with all that, the defence wasn't tested too much but it did look more assured overall. Definitely need an attacking midfielder or box to box type, someone up front with pace or a poacher type and then we might be fine. Keeper as well but Killip is acceptable with more commanding defenders in front of him which limits his weak points.

Issue we have, we can do the easy beats but our record against top half is probably the worst in the division, 1 win I think, a draw and loads of heavy defeats. If we get something at Carlisle I might start believing we can stay up. Jury out for now mind.

Aye agree with both, thought Grey did well yesterday but would like to see a more experienced attack minded midfielder in there and if we take Raj on his word (LOL) we've tabled bids for two strikers in League 2 who are both into double figures for the season, much talked about Johnson will be one, have to assume the other is Armstrong?

According to Curle’s interview in the mail, he is meeting with one of these strikers today to discuss,

As you said, if Johnson’s already said he’s not interested for now, can only assume it’s Armstrong

Did you have some cheese with your whine when you got back to York?

Not always on point but the Intel I've got is Andy Dallas from Solihull, Ryan Bowman and Armstrong, Johnson. Would have any of them, about time Armstrong moved to a proper club.

I'd be very surprised if they came off, think its all bluster. Dallas would be a class signing with his age and record but that'll come with a high price.

Sestonpoolie might know more
