Sutton v Crawley is off
Devilforajob coming from York could have done with an earlier postponement. Those of us coming from Crawley were astonished it was called off at 11am.

Crawley to Sutton an hour on the train/car. Bright sunny weather. Like a virgin in a brothel....far too soon.

Anyways I had a pleasant afternoon on a small pub crawl in Sutton. The Old Bank by the station was selling Doom Bar and Tribute on draught. O'Neil was a typical Irish bar (real Irish people wouldn't go near it) but a special mention for the Slug and Lettuce. That's what the liquid they served me tasted like and the floor was so sticky you could hardly move (a friend saying he couldn't sneak up on someone here didn't help matters).

I didn't go to the ground but I'd be very surprised if it was still frozen at 2pm. Your loss, we didn't have a keeper in (one who can stop shots), we're have half been promised a forward and you will lose out on the fans who cannot make the revised fixture on a Tuesday (we're not a big club but about 700 people were reported to be going.

3 weeks without a fixture for us and Lindsey still hasn't had a game.

As an exile myself (Swansea) I’ve had similar issues with on the day postponements. It’s the risk one has to take.

We did all we could to get the game on - the club were putting out requests for fans to help get the pitch ready - but again it was the match referee and not Sutton United who called the game on.

Saying that it seems as though the problem area of the pitch was still an issue around the time of kickoff.

Jared, no conspiracy theories fro me and Crawley have had their issues (the sun doesn't reach the ground in front of the south stand until 3-3:30).

However, The Slug & Lettuce I'll not forgive you for. :)

Jared doesn't drink.

TBH, Sutton is a shithole - says she living in Mitcham - and I'd not drink in the vicinity of the town centre. As any away supporter worth their salt knows, The Hope in Carshalton is the pub to head to.

I live in Crawley. Far be it for me to dis others places.

I have just found out I'm not worth my salt though. :)

How do you get to the ground from the Hope though? Ten minute walk to the staion, back on the train to Sutton and then a twenty minute walk to the ground after a few sherbets doesn't sound the best plan.

One stop from Sutton to Carshalton on Thameslink.

To get to GGL, do the reverse and stay on the train as it then carries on to Wimbledon via West Sutton.

The Thameslink line goes to carshalton. Services that terminate at Sutton then become a service that goes through West Sutton, before going on to Wimbledon and Central London, so stay on and get off at West Sutton and you’re right next to the ground

Thanks guys...I'll play around with this next season (he says hopefully).

The trains from our direction don't go to Carlshaton though...a travel card should solve that though.
