Our local radio said one of the talking points of the half is that Northampton Saints have won at Leicester in the rugby East Mids derby which tells you all you need to know…

Well both goals came from poor play by us as per, should have had one if not two pens, one when Seaman was pulled down in the box and the other when Reid blocked a shot by seaman with his hands ( although that one not as clear cut as the first) other than that we’ve created sod all and Tom Anderson should think himself very lucky for not getting sent off.

Laughable formation from our interim manager 3-1-6. Strangely we’ve been overrun. Ref gives a pen when a shot hits our CB full in the face - requiring concussion protocol.

It’s almost funny.

Thanks to Avanti West Coast I've not been able to make today's game.

Looking at the lineup we are playing 5-4-1 against a team which always draws so probably won't be a fun one to watch for those who did manage to make it to Wimbledon.

Absolute disgrace of a company. Should have been kicked off the route a year ago.

I’m also doing Wimbledon (A) in 2 weeks time, train tickets bought etc. it will be pot luck as to whether I get there or not.

0-0 h/t in Birkenhead. Orient look the better passing side, but free header out wide of the post the closest they’ve got a a goal. Rovers battled well but look very disjointed.

Game is absolutely there for the taking for either side. We’ve been utterly pedestrian and Tranmere have been getting in good positions but can’t cross. One goal should do it.

Ref levels up the dodgy penalties by giving us one. Hit defender on the arm from about a yard away.

something has to be done with these lower league refs

Whatever happens here we’ve done ourselves fucking proud, to come back straight away after going behind to a very good Championship team this is an immense performance, we look really good on the ball too our passing is excellent and we’ve made Luton look bang average. Just hope we hold out for the replay that we deserve.
Shitting myself watching it though.

2-0 McWilliams. Been a fairly comfortable second half, 87 minutes gone and according to Flashscore Barrow haven’t had a shot. Much needed win hopefully not too far away.

Beckles scores our first shot on target. Pity it was into his own net. Deservedly behind. Game over as we’re not going to score again this season.

I don’t think there are words as to how poor we are, a head coach who wants to play a formation we clearly don’t have the players for, the embarrassing defending week after week, gifting goals, missing sitters by our so called strikers and our numpty fans throwing flares onto the pitch, from top to bottom we have become a joke

Not kidding but we’ve spent at least half of this 7 minutes injury time on the floor, love to see it. :woot:

Point away at a team in the play-offs will do me absolutely fine.

Maybe -- But at least we won't be avoiding promotion because of the result.

Thought one of you weirdos would sniff that comment out!

Would have taken a point before the game but its gut wrenching that we threw that away

The bookies continuing to value us as if we’re Real Madrid pays off again. Put a fiver at 5/1 for Wimbledon to win as soon as we missed the pen.

If we had set up in the first half as we did in the 2nd would have won that. @absolutely dreadful starting ‘formation’. Still could have won it when down to 10.

Could have had another red when Brennan fouled as the last man.

A win is a win but what an awful game of football between two really poor sides. Rochdale will feel that was an opportunity missed as they won’t face many sides as bad as we were today. I’d be surprised if we strung more than 3 passes together once in that second half.

Played well last 20, didn't turn up for the first 70. Didn't deserve that at the end but you can always rely on Ben Spillip to steal the limelight again. Why was he playing?

How was it an opportunity missed for them? It was them who made it into a shit game today and no suprise as they're bottom, but we grinded out the win which is what good promotion chasing teams do.
It was an awful game yes, but that doesn't mean we were poor, we just had to adapt to the circumstance to win, wasn't a game for free flowing football.

We were poor, but as you say it doesn’t matter when you get the points.

They did make it scrappy but we fell into it as well. Hartlepool tried to make it scrappy on Tuesday but we didn’t fall into it and played normally, today we didn’t play normally and it was played like a relegation six pointer with very little quality. I don’t think the two bookings to our centre backs helped. Made it a bit more panicky.

Well not every game can be played so nicely can they?
Just be happy with the win and stop putting us down for stuff that doesn't matter, we're still in the mix for the automatics.

Today's game went exactly as expected. As above, I think we had our first shot on 95 mins.

Northampton knew every move we'd make and snuffed out pretty much everything. All our changes were shit and we finished the game with three wingers and a target man coming on and all struggling to get in the game.

Feels like our season is done and the next four months will just be treading water, keeping out of trouble.
