Really looking forward this our opening game against the Grimsby lads. No idea what to expect. We looked very good against Hearts in pre season, so so at St.Mirren and pretty well outplayed at Wrexham
Too light up front for my money and hope 1/2 loan signings can be brought in to improve this area
As for the result, I'd obviously like us to win but it's not the end of the world if we dont Maybe a narrow win for the Cods

Our record at Gillingham is quite appalling, we have not scored against them at their place in the league in years and whenever we do play there we are usually poor.
With our two first choice centre mids missing, as well as our first choice two strikers missing, this is probably a good time to play us.

If would appear we’ve had a bit of a disastrous week in terms of picking up new injuries. Now no available left back and only one fit midfielder. Probably end up starting 2 centre backs in midfield, unless he puts faith in a youth teamer.

Rovers v Magpies, should be a decent season opener. We've a small squad and it looks like at least four won't be fit enough for the opening game. However, Jordan Turnbull, who's missed most of pre-season through injury is likely to be available in central defence with Brad Walker moving into midfield.

Probable starting xi

McGee
Norman Davies Turnbull Wood
Jennings Walker Hendry Patrick
Davison Norris

We've lost the last two openers 1-2 at home. I don't know how well the visitor's recruiting has gone over the summer. Losing Langstaff must be a blow, but they still look like a side with goals in them. All three outcomes feel equally possible, but I'll opt for a draw 2-2 or 3-3

Fleetwood v Grimsby

Don’t know much about Fleetwood, but over recent seasons quite a few clubs have been relegated from League One and continued through the trapdoor straight into NL. Chesterfield, Oldham, Scunthorpe, Forest Green off the top of my head.
Who are the most likely to struggle for survival out of the relegated clubs? I’d probably go Cheltenham?

Back to the Cod’s v The Haddock’s fish derby I think Grimsby may well line up:

Wright
Cass, Rodgers, McJannet, Hume
Green, Khouri, McEachran
Svanþórsson, Wilson, Vernam

Subs: Eastwood, Warren, Ainley, Davies, Barrington, Rose, Gardner

I assume Carson will be out along with Tharme and Thompson

We literally could put 2 different sides out so difficult to pick ours for tomorrow but here goes:
Lawlor
Sterry Olowu Wood Maxwell
Bailey Broadbent
Molyneux Hurst Gibson
Ironside
Subs: TSL, Nixon, Anderson, Kelly, Sbarra, Yeboah, Sharp

Im working on the notion that Jayden Stockley won’t be available tomorrow and it’s now confirmed Mitch Clark has got a very bad injury so he won’t be appearing for a while if at all this season. Byers not played any this preseason but is training so reckon he’ll be on the bench initially. I think the lineup will maybe look something like this

Ripley
Sang Heneghan Hall Hart
Croasdale Ojo
Chislett Garrity Curtis
Tolaj

Subs: Amos, Smith, Debrah, Byers, Baker-Boaitey, Paton, Dipepa

Well to start the season off I'd gladly take an away point at Gillingham knowing it's a tough place to go and they are thought of as one of the better teams in this division who should be up there.

Expecting a Cheltenham win tomorrow.

Flynn’s teams tend to start the season well. They have a tried and tested group of players at this level whereas County have the opposite and are still getting to grips with possession based approach. Wouldn't surprise me if easy goals are given away at the beginning of the season through mistakes as County try to implement it.

On the flip side, will be hoping to see some joy with the likes of Kamwa & Spellman on the wings and more energy from us in the middle of the pack. Bennett’s legs have gone, Cheltenham will do well to get a good half a season from him.

Bennett is the main worry in defence from pre-season. Apparently he looked better at cdm against Bristol City, so I'm hoping we have him there, shielding and not having to do much running.

It'll likely be a draw tomorrow - we don't win on the opening day.

Hope anybody who will be watching this hasn’t any sort of neck problem. We’ve left out our best player - Glatzel - for a prehistoric looking team of of giants. No creativity in midfield so it all points to a hoof fest.

Apologies, guys.

Perish the thought but it certainly is the case. Some years ago Yeovil were in the Championship and successive relegations saw them finish up in NL
I'll be grateful for a mid table finish !

Very winnable game for us tomorrow to get us up and running. I'll be disappointed if we drop points to a side I think will be towards the bottom this season now that the Pete Wild era has come to an end. Just hope Marschall doesn't drop a bollock.

Not too sure how we'll line up given the rumoured injury list but I'm sure we'll have enough quality to grind out a result tomorrow.

Barrow 1-2 Crewe

Think might watch a bit of Chesterfields game if only as intrigued to see what they look like after promotion. Probably flick between that and DC's first game in charge of Barnsley then settle on which is the more entertaining.

A typically scruffy goal to open the scoring. Not sure what Bycroft is complaining about, never seemed to have 2 hands on it.

Like what I’ve seen from Dobra whenever he gets on the ball. Swindon for all the land of the giants stuff it’s no good if you’re beaten to every second ball so far.
