One of those games where Swindon have been utter garbage but it is only one goal in it so still in the game.

Chesterfield just look so much quicker all over the pitch.

Chesterfield have played well for me but Swindon look proper ropey, bad in possession whether they’re pressed or not and playing it up to that big dosser Smith is simply playing into Chesterfield’s hands.

No idea why Glatzel is on the bench but they need to get him on asap

Still in disbelief at that pen. It's a really easy decision, I'm not sure what he's seen to not give that. Making an error like that then giving Cook a booking for remonstrating about it is everything wrong with shit refs these days. If that ends up costing us here I'll be livid, but also we've been a touch wasteful too and could be going in 3 up really. Still, it's looking OK.

How’s he not given that penalty! Not sure what he’s seen there!

Swindon look very poor except Smith who in fairness is winning a fair bit, defensively they are all over the place and that goal was hideous to concede. Keeper has to do much better.

Chesterfield decent enough but it’s fairly low quality stuff so far, understandable being the first game. Dobra looks lively for them.

New club, new season, but some things never change.

Good lord, what a finish from Wright. Swindon been far better in the 2nd half.

Now Chesterfield made to pay for not making their first half dominance count more. Great goal, whether he should have been allowed to run half the length of the pitch is another matter.

Aye, tidy finish. As JJ said, Swindon the better team this half.

What a silly goal from a centre-back, no idea why Dunkley’s backed off for 20 yards though when he hasn’t got anyone else to pick up

Ugh, annoying we've not won that game. Positive though I feel, look like we belong.

Chesterfield unlucky not to get the penalty at 1-0, they go 2-0 up it's probably game over. But as is so often the case in football, you let your foot off the gas and it'll give teams a way back in. Swindon looked fairly average for the most part, saved by a cracking goal. Fair result all round.

Improved performance from Swindon second half. Think that non-penalty call made to look even worse now in context of the result. Think Chesterfield overall look like they'll be competitive this season once they hit their stride. Game should have been close to done and dusted first half but if don't make it count you always risk one with your name on it.

Only saw bits and pieces of the 90, but from what I saw it was fairly even. Good poachers goal from Dobra, a definite penalty not given, and then a great finish from Wright having beaten an absolutely empty central midfield to get within range. Chesterfield probably do enough to scrape a win in the NL, but that extra bit of quality counts a level up.

Happy with that start, decent performance from us overall, should really have been out of sight first half not helped by a horrendous refereeing decision. Second half, nothing in the game really and it took a worldie of a strike (fair play, some strike) to get Swindon back in to it. Was impressed with both our new full backs, thought they looked really good both going forward and defensively. Also thought Oldaker & Banks were very good in deep midfield, controlled the game.

Take a point on the opening day because everyone’s up for it and wants to get off to a good start don’t they. It’s a better start than Notts last year anyway…

Chesterfield look to be in trouble this season as they are already 2 points worse off than Sutton were at this point last season and look where they ended up.
One more game for Cook to save his job so I hear.

Take that tonight. Fair result. Well on top first half, took foot off the gas in the second half.

Was also impressed with our full backs. They caught the eye definitely, look very steady. I didn't mind Oldaker/Banks, but I do think Naylor in that midfield and that centre back doesn't just walk through imo. Sooner he's back there the better. It's 2 points dropped for sure, but the main thing is we looked alright and should be fine. We'll win more games than we lose with that level of performance

That Chesterfield defending was exactly the kind of defending that got us relegated last season! Tom Sang level backing off there!

Second half was a bit scrappy and Swindon improved, should of been done and dusted first half but will get punished for moments at the back like that.

I mean come on now, how many times are we gonna see a league 2 centre half smack one in to the top corner from 25 yards? I’m going to guess probably not many… normally defences are happy for defenders to take a shot from there cos 9/10 it ends up in the car park

These things happen. Overall we limited them to virtually nothing and it’s took a screamer to level.

It was a good finish but to let him travel 40-50 yards unchallenged and give him space to hit one from the edge of the box is asking for trouble. If someone goes out to him you win the game, I’d be furious to concede that.

Leaky midfield for sure, but that's their goal of the season wrapped up in game 1

Yeah and if the referee is half competent we win the game too, is what it is. Not gonna keep going over it, but as I said, 9/10 you are more than happy to see a frustrated centre half try and shoot from miles out as it normally results in a goal kick and pressure relieved. It’s football, these things happen.

I’m more than happy to start the season with a decent performance and a point on the board.
