I've high hopes for Jack Hinchy and I'm glad he's starting today but that midfield looks weak overall and it looks like we're playing Jodi Jones assist machine on the right where he assists a lot less.

Turnbull not fit enough to play so Walker remains in defence. Rovers side lacks pace and would prefer to see Nigel mix it up a bit and start with one of our faster options in Patrick or Saunders.

Sky have done a great job of mixing the feeds up here - Notts/Tranmere is playing on the Walsall stream and Salford/Vale is playing on the Notts stream

Pattison with a great strike for City. 1-0.

20 minutes into the season and I’ve simply had enough of Sam Austin already

We've been dreadful since we went 2-0 up. MK Dons pulled one back and I think they'll get another or two. Our passing has been subpar and we can't keep hold of the ball.

We've picked up a bit since I posted that we've been dreadful. Decent chance for Cook.

Wright vs Nemane is the most glass-cannon battle I've ever witnessed.

2-1 to us at HT. When MK Dons pulled one back they were the better side for a good ten minutes but we calmed things down a bit. Really like the look of Sarcevic.

We’ve put in the first thing resembling a solid and organised but pretty dull away performance for about four years.

Decent enough first half, been pretty solid defensively, Platt in particular has been a standout. Going forward we’re just undercooked, Austin and Scott are just trying hard and that’s about it, lack any sort of movement or class up top with Crowley playing deeper - McGoldrick can hopefully bring something when he inevitably comes on

Decent performance so far, lead 1-0 thanks to Garrity bundling home from a corner right on half time. Unlucky not to be playing ten men as Tolaj was clean through and referee bottled it but on the flip side his tackle on half time I feared would be a red.

Some tight ropes second half with a few booked from both sides. We look to have some fight and characters this season which was massively lacking last season.

Long way to go here though.

Looks a solid base to improve on when we can get Palmer/Robertson/Gordon in and Crowley further forward. I’d take 0-0.

Pretty even first half so far, poor defending for us let Fleetwood score as we left two unmarked in the box.
Should have scored in the first two mins but didn't take our chances, it's like nothing has changed!

Started like a train and scored within 3 minutes, since that it's been Carlisles half as they've gradually got closer to hitting the target, culminating with an effort off the bar from 10 yards which was a bit of a sitter. If thr pattern of the game continues this way then we need to hope Carlisle don't find their shooting boots at half time. They haven't been great, but we've been sloppy and haven't really come to terms with their shape yet. Wouldn't be surprised by an early 2nd half sub.

We were excellent for the opening ten minutes, 2-0 up and in total control. Thought we were all over Wimbledon at that point and showing some real quality on the ball. They pulled one back with a fortunate deflection, the second was a smart finish but looked like a handball from Bugiel in the build up and then the third is a shocking penalty decision to complete the turnaround.

Since the opening ten to fifteen minutes though we seem to have lost the plot a bit, struggling to get a foot on the ball. Certainly lost any control of the game after Wimbledon started to get back into it and they seem to have as much time as they need in the middle.

I'd take a draw too although I've a horrible feeling we'll concede at some point and wouldn't be surprised if we don't score.
Not a bad half for us though if rather dull for the neutral.

Notts had the bulk of the play including in the attacking areas, probably enough to have been in front, but Rovers had the only effort to test the keeper.

2-0 Gills, 2 minutes into the half.

A Carlisle ball to no-one, Wakeling picked it up and had a free run at goal. I do wonder if some of the players are having issues with the kits being quite similar here to be fair, a lot of passes from both sides straight to opposing players.

Or they're all just bad.

We're pretty much hanging on here. Dons had two really good chances. Alexander needs to be looking at changing something soon, I think.

We keep the ball and then do nothing with it and every time we try to do something attacking we give it away.
Toilet.

Well that’s annoying, probably deserved to win that, just lacked quality and a kind bounce of the ball in the final third which was predictable based on the teamsheet.

Hard to be disappointed with the point or the performance

Really happy with that. Thought we grew into it and had complete control of the last half hour, just needed a ricochet to go our way to win it, but would’ve taken a draw beforehand so can’t complain. Promising.

Well that was a shite watch, don't remember either side having a shot on goal in that second half but then Fleetwood didn't need to.
