Very winnable game for us tomorrow to get us up and running. I'll be disappointed if we drop points to a side I think will be towards the bottom this season now that the Pete Wild era has come to an end. Just hope Marschall doesn't drop a bollock.

Not too sure how we'll line up given the rumoured injury list but I'm sure we'll have enough quality to grind out a result tomorrow.

Barrow 1-2 Crewe

Happy for this post to be bumped in May but I'm not sure I agree with the general consensus that's going we will automatically be a side finishing 22nd again now Wild has gone. That's not to say we will do better, but some of our players will suit Clemence's more positive (compared to Wild's) approach. I think we will be fine overall, by which I mean another season of consolidation which is all that matters for us. We'll get a few decent wins and be on the end of a few hammerings and it'll actually be more entertaining weirdly, but consistent goalscoring and a leakier defence due to being more open is why we won't improve.

For all the hype I thought the quality of the coverage last night was shite, poor quality picture at times and frozen 2-3 times as well, no better than ifollow

I agree, I was flicking between the Chesterfield and Barnsley games and both kept freezing. At one point, the Barnsley game completely froze to the extent I had to restart the stream.

For me this is the only time I’ve had no issue viewing last night.....Ifollow for me had at least one issue each and every time I used it, so fingers crossed.

Do they have commentary on these Sky Sports + streams?
They did last night but not sure how today works with 25-30 games on! IFollow used local commentary and you could pick home and away but assume that wouldn’t be the case as for example ours is BBC Radio Stoke.

Hope it’s a neutral if not though, after lockdown I don’t think I could cope with another “Dave” from Tranmere if it’s on when we play away again!

Yep. He was alright as well, reasonably knowledgeable about both sides. I did laugh when they put up the graphics as it said John McGreal was Chesterfield manager and Gavin Gunning was ours, wrong on both counts. My stream froze once on 89 minutes, briefly.

A vast improvement on the ropey IPTV i had been using where I had to suffer the completely biased (usually) Northern commentators. The Mansfield ones particularly insufferable from memory.

We were extremely fortunate with a couple of refereeing decisions last night. That was a blatant penalty and Will Wright could have picked up a second yellow. C'est la vie.
I just can’t work out how he’s missed it, it was so obvious l didn’t even appeal at the time, just expected to see him point to the spot.

Thought your lot improved second half by the way, seems like your manager has got you very organised and I think defensively you’ll be pretty solid this season with that shape you play & the physicality in your team. Didn’t seem to have much creative spark about you though, and other than the screamer of an equaliser can’t really remember you creating much else. Never too disappointed with a point on the opening day though and I’m sure you lot feel similar about that. Great travelling support too by the way.

Totally agree. We were awful first half and probably could have gone in 3 behind. Improved in the second but didn't actually create much at all. Will Wright's goal is a 1 in 100 type shot. Delighted with a point, you look a pretty good side so for us it's a great evening's work.

We're very much a work in progress. Get some creativity sorted out and we might sneak top 10.

Yes mine did too. Only plus i suppose is it doesn't cost anymore on top of my Sky sports subscription whereas I Follow of course does.

One other issue - you can't watch any of the streamed games on a PC. It's purely on mobile devices like a phone or tablet.

I watched Chesterfield on my PC through the NOW TV website last night if you have Sky that way.

Was definitely a couple of buffering issues last night on the red button. Worst one was stoppage time and it completely froze so had to go out and back in just in time for Chesterfield looking like they were about to fashion up an opening.

You can on PC, working fine for me last night, also tried it on the Now TV app on my TV and was fine on there too.

Woke up this morning and realised we’re into the new season and we’re one point off top spot.

Happy days. Enjoying these moments while they are here.

I see Swindon made Ollie Clarke captain, good choice. He just needs managing a bit to try and minimise his time out with the usual small muscle injuries.

Genuine question - how?

I have the Sky Go app which has the lineal channels only, and I tried SkySports.com and that only showed the lineal channels as well. I don't watch via Now TV.

How was Frazer Blake-Tracey last night?

Good debut, some had him MOTM, me personally I did not because he was a tad wasteful with the ball at times but overall a good performance, got up and down the pitch really well.

Macca is out at the minute so he’s got the chance to make that position his.

For anyone who missed the absolute stone waller not given last night :ffs: … 1 minute in:

Holy shit that’s bad, to complete the shit league 2 officials full set you now need a penalty given against you for fuck all and to have a goal disallowed for offside that’s about 3 yards onside.
Probably all completed by the end of August

Oh god it's even worse when you watch it back. Ref must have had a stroke. Swindon player with the 'ooh I'm dead injured pls don't give pen' routine.

Well, first Notts team sheet of the season and we are officially beleaguered. If you’d told me 3 months ago Adam Chicksen would start the first game of the season I’d have assumed our squad had been hit with a Harchester United type tragedy

Interesting line up, a lot of big players missing, no Smith, Byers, Chislett, Stockley, John and Ojo on the bench not sure on the line up but possibly 3-4-3.

Not too confident seeing the line up and who is missing so be a tough one today.

It’s one game and all that, and it also sounds like Tsaroulla, Gordon, Robertson and Palmer will all be back within the next week or two - but I honestly can’t believe we’ve allowed ourselves to be in the position where THAT is our team to start the season.

If the signings we’ve seemingly hung on for aren’t very good I think it’s all going to get a bit toxic very quickly.

If we somehow win today though? Maynard might be a magician

Ok I was talking about Now TV, I don't have sky just now tv sports. On Now TV through the app or browser just go to sports and then EFL and all the games are listed. Is there not a red button option or something for skygo?
