Are you on a wind up?

Or are you a fucking moron?

(That's a rhetorical question by the way)

Tell me something that isn't factual about my post?

Nothing wrong with it. Harsh reality for any Oxford fan pretending their club is something it isn't.

I'm not getting into a willy waving debate here.

I think you give Charlton some decent honest owners and a successful season and they'd piss over everyone in terms of attendances this season. One of my favourite away ends and looking forward to taking a big noisy following there again this season after what feels like years.

Bradfords crowds are skewed by the low prices (and hats off to them for that - why can't that be the norm?) But definitely shows there's an appetite for the football club within the community.

Whilst the Venky's are in at Blackburn then they'll never pull in regular big crowds and quite right too. Get them out and the boycotters return and they could easily have 20k+ in most weeks with relative success.

I'd even add Plymouth to potential 20K a week. Their away support is as good or better in numbers as anyones. Just doesn't seem to be a desire to pack the ground out at home most weeks.

We'll not make capacity again this season due to the ground problems and segregation of the Milton End (away end). Next season should see it pulled down and replaced which should finally put an end to empty seats in a sold out crowd.

Regardless of any of the above, there's not many leagues in the world at this level that will get even close to the divisions average next season. That's impressive in its own right.

I was going to stay off this thread as it's daft and silly but how on earth is your recent history 'bigger' than ours? Cannot fucking wait to hear this...

What have you actually won in the last 25 years or so (apart from the 2014 play offs) ?

That's the funniest post of the year

As someone who has no time for Oxford, your comparison is just plain wrong. I know fuck all about Rotherham's history but I doubt they have been in the top flight let alone win a major cup.

And I wouldn't compare attendances if I were you, either

You've also got to take in to consideration the other teams you compete with in your local area. Within 30 miles of Ewood we've got united, city, Bolton, Preston, a team I won't name, Wigan, Stanley, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale. There are other catchment areas with similar amounts of teams and some with far less which obviously has a knock on effect on the turnstiles. Some of those big clubs fans will never experience the lows that the majority of us experience, but will never appreciate it the same when they achieve something great. The fans who fork out good money to watch lower league clubs have more respect from me than anyone who thinks finishing forth in the prem is a disaster. Ask long suffering fans of Pompey, Charlton , Coventry, Blackpool, Rovers what wealthy owners can bring.
On the plus side plenty of cracking local derbys for us next season, and some horrendous away days for anyone on the south coast. First season in ages I've actually looked forward to.

I'd say we've suffered more than Charlton in the last 15 years tbh, 2 administrations, 6 years in league 2, 13 years since we were last in the second tier, and worst of all having to watch Luke Oliver play up front.

In fact which club has had it hardest would be a better thread than this crap.

How about pretty much all of it. Fuck me, even Indian Dan, a Swindon fan, disagrees with you.

The answer to my rhetorical question is it's obvious that you're a moron on a wind up.

Definitely Kent. I should know, as I lived there when I was a nipper. (1965-74)
Kent yes, but also in a London Borough (Bexley) hence my tongue in cheek comment. I lived there1974-1994. The London Borough link adds some non Kent aspects to living in Welling. So as a voter I was part of London where my council tax went, not Kent County Council. My parliamentary seat was part of London and I voted for the London bodies such as GLC, not Kent CC. so sporting wise Kent, politically largely (though not totally) London.

4 promotions, 6 years in the championship, a LDV trophy win and a play off final loss.

I'd also class a mid table finish an achievement after starting a season with -17 points.

Also our attendances have grown to a dependable average over 9k.

Now tell me about Gillingham in the same time period.

Wouldn't compare attendances? We averaged more in one the worst performances of a football club in football league history. We'll comfortably be top 6 in this division.

What's wrong about the comparison I made? In my book being non league immediately makes you inferior to a side that's never left the league.

I bet you a penny to a pound of pig shit you aren't in the top 6. You won't have regular away attendances to swell your figures.

It's pointless prattling on about comparisons as all you're interested in is mindless bollocks.

As much as I enjoyed Oxford's sojourn in non league, a few bad seasons can't really wipe out their achievements compared to your . . . er, nothingness

Not much in it really history wise but going on nowadays we have have better home support atm and we have always seemed to have better followings away than Gillingham from i've seen but like i have said on another post, Gillingham are probably the closest to us in club size.

Silly silly man. Away average at our ground last year will be made up my home fans as we'll fair for better this season. Already 6k season tickets sold. To average another 3k for the 5/6 season in a row will be easy.

There aren't 6 clubs in this league who can and will average more.

This is the bit I don't get in terms of your confidence. The two sentences do not inherently follow. You state last year was one of the worst performances in football history. So why are so confident all will be well this year? I know little about your club, but presumably you were poor for a number of reasons, why do you think they no longer apply?

We've sold an extra 300 season tickets than last season as a championship club. Don't worry about our attendances kid.

Maybe not. Attendances do not maketh the club though. Otherwise Sunderland are bigger than Liverpool etc.

How do you work that out when Liverpool averaged 53k in a sold out stadium every week while Sunderland average 41k.

Attendances aren't everything but is probably the main factor to determine who the bigger clubs are.

I could not give a flying fig about your attendances. I'd rather you answer my question about the disparity between your abject performance last year, and why you think you will be so good this?

You forgot to mention us Lance Stoe. We averaged more than Rotherham last season.

And Bristol Rovers averaged less than them.

I might be wrong but if you read his post again from earlier bout being in the top 6 then im sure he means attendances and not the performances on the field.
