Dangerous enough at times so I'm told. I've only seen 10 minutes highlights but they hit the bar twice and Ellison (?) looked potent. Both keepers made half a dozen good saves.

Morecombe looked decent enough & did have some good chances, which Fortunatly for us they missed.
We were clinical which was the main difference between the sides.
Think they'll be pretty comfortable.

On another day Morecambe would have got at least a draw .... not a bad side at all

Seen the goal bingham scored.. nice build but the keeper has to do better with that... any decent keeper and its an easy save. Poor placement for the shot, he got lucky with it.

So let's make sure I've grasped this completely.

Billy Paynter (ex-Carlisle) is adjudged to have got lucky with his goal by Carlisle fans.

Rakish Bingham (ex-Mansfield) is adjudged to have got lucky with his goal by a Mansfield fan.

The grapes are indeed sour in Notts and Cumbs. :ds:

Ha, have you not got over this already?

In my opinion, he didn't mean to direct the ball into the far corner, but who cares, he's scored.

I still think he'll prove to be a poor signing, time will tell. I genuinely think Bingham will score 10-15 goals though.

Sour grapes about a player whose contract we cancelled within the last month or so?? It's not like we've released some 20 year old and he's gone on to score a load of goals, this is Billy Paynter who is clearly past it, eats loads of pies and is a bit of an arse - you're more than welcome to him and you're probably the only league team dumb enough to bother.

For what it's worth we've replaced Paynter with Ibehre who's cheaper, better and actually scored completely on purpose on Saturday.

Ibhere has always done the business in this league & is a good signing.
I thought Paynter missed, but he didn't & had an excellent game.
Sounds like he's playing well tonight also.
So we'll see.

This is a Bingham thread, not a Billy thread.

I'm not sure Ibehre will be on that much less than what we paid Billy, but one things for sure jabo is certainly far better value for it.

Spotting Rakish Bingham was a good player is like spotting a lighthouse from 10 feet away at midnight. The man is a shining beacon of hope that transcends the sport of football and provides escapism for the entire nation every week. I was walking home from work the other day and a young boy was sat on the pavement, head in hands and sat on a battered old football. I approached him (not in a noncey way) and asked him what the matter was. 'My parents are recently divorced and kids bully me at school by stealing my shoes and pissing in them' he says, from behind a mask of tears. I crouch down, knowing it will take something special to lift the poor lad's spirits and make him forget about his utter car-crash of a life - I notice his football, the worn old leather peeling away as the rubber underbelly bursts through the Sondico logo. 'You like football?', he nods, 'go home and look forward to Saturday' - 'why would I look forward to Saturday? My Dad always beats me on Saturday whilst making derogatory remarks about Mum's new boyfriend Jeremy'.

I smile lovingly and softly say 'but after that, at 9pm on Channel 5, Rakish Bingham will be on your TV screen for 7 seconds'. I walked away, his tears of sadness now replaced by tears of jubilation, I assumed. Thankyou Rakish.

I am a disciple of Rakish my good man, I preach the gospel of his wisdom. Has a priest ever nonced a child whilst spreading the word of God...I doubt it.

You didn't cancel it. We bought it out. He won every test in pre-season

He's played two games, scored two goals, one assist, leads the team well and has turned in 2 8/10 performances.

You didn't know what you had there. Maybe your pies are shit. We do beef and stardust at the Vic.:2thumb:
