Firstly, congratulations Bolton and I am genuinely relieved and delighted that you won’t be going the same way as Bury.
The problem I have is that the likes of Tranmere, Ipswich etc. Can pick up 3 points and a plus 5 goal difference and then immediately the rest of the league have to play an entirely different team.
How is that protecting the integrity of the league?
I do understand that none of this is the fault of the current set up at Bolton and I wish you well going forward, I honestly do.
This though will be remembered as the season when the EFL were finally found out to be totally unfit for purpose.

I'm glad they've survived, however I do want them punished for cancelling their game Vs Doncaster. If the EFL just let them off then it will be a farce and show how they'll do anything for big clubs but let Bury go under.

League one window hasn't yet mate, think they have a fair few experienced players lined up.

Imo it's definitely unfair on the rest, however it's a small price to pay to make sure another club doesn't go out of business.

It's just part of the landscape of league football though. John Coleman made pretty much the same complaint when Brunton Park was flooded and we had to play some home games in Lancashire. He thought teams who got to play us while we were homeless would have an unfair advantage over the rest of the league.

FORMER Wanderers owner Ken Anderson walked away with £240,000 from the sale of the club, The Bolton News understands.


The Football Ventures consortium finally completed their takeover on Wednesday, following months of complex negotiations.


Anderson was accused by the club’s administrators, David Rubin and Partners, of “using his position as a secured creditor to hamper and frustrate any deal that did not benefit him or suit his purposes” in the statement which announced the sale.
It has also emerged that an incredible £7.5million of debt was ‘forgiven’ by the Eddie Davies Trust.

Pretty frustrating that. I am glad they did not go under but a twelve point deduction does not seem sufficient for all the nonsense that has gone on. Hopefully the League will apply the deduction for the Doncaster game, rather than conveniently forgetting about it.

And the game they didn't play last season as well which they are yet to have had any disciplinary action for. It would restore some balance to a league already made stupid by the authorities letting them play with a youth squad.

As I said in the Bury thread, this takeover for Bolton is likely just delaying the inevitable. Still, I was expecting the new owners to take more than a week to completely mess things up.

Scandalous but entirely unsurprising that the EFL have let them get away with it, simply because they were so desperate not to lose two clubs in one season.

I'm sure they do, but their hands are tied. Look at the furore because they didn't allow the Brazilian priest to buy Bury even though there was no due dilligance and imagine if they had kicked Bolton out after the administrators had agreed the sale.

I see Bolton played their “kids” last night just 3 days after playing at Gillingham. This coming after they postponed their fixture against Donny claiming concerns over their youngsters welfare. Couldn’t make it up.
On another note I don’t think it’s a forgone conclusion that Bolton will be relegated either. 60 points from 41 games isn’t such a tall order, especially with Keith Hill as manager and the players they’ve signed!
