Cladding by all accounts (according to those in the know on otib), totally pointless but cladding. Should be screens, the position is ideal.

Strange? I just wish it was finished now. I keep looking for updated pictures. I'm like a kid. Been such along time since I've looked forward to what the future holds for the club I love.

I think we are all the same Dave, especially me and 'my' post! ;)

It's gonna sound very otib-esque, but I hate the colour of the new seats

Are they not still in their wrapping?!

Yeah I think so but will the colour change much once the wrapping is removed? They just look to me like they've been there for 30 years and faded pink

Yes, the colour will look a much stronger red once the wrappers come off.

It was the same with the Amex seating, as below:

It's going to look odd in the Dolman certainly with the older seats at the back and the newer style at the front. I guess the older style seats aren't available any more and the newer ones are slightly bigger so can't be retrofitted to replace what we already have.

They look alright - are they going to be those comfy ones like the ones at MK Dons were?

They are certainly going to be better than the wooden ones in the Williams! I'm only 5' 8 and felt cramped in there.
The seats do look like the ones at stadium MK, I must say. My only problem is, once the Williams is built with the comfy seats etc and no sun in our eyes, everyone will want to go in there and the Dolman will look terrible!

That's definitely red. A slightly darker red but it's definitely red!
When they are all full, like next season, it won't matter anyway.

I know it's sad! Guess forty-odd years of the same old ground for me has made the new build a bit exciting even at my age!!

Rammy, you think this is bad, you ought to see our official forum. It went into melt down about the colour of the seats! The covering seems to be darker but it's caused mayhem. 'Bloody purple', 'wrong colour', 'bad move by Bristol sport', it's a seat FFS and when the plastic is taken off it's a red seat!!
I'm enjoyng the whole build process and find it fascinating how they are doing certain things but moaning about the seats is just a bit OTT. Luckily, the fans on here haven't moaned about it.
Wait until the new West stand starts to rise, we will be on this thread all the time.

Williams? It's the Grandstand to old buggers like me!
When they put the seats in it was never the same. We had some great laughs in the old enclosure, especially when we were in Division 4 funnily enough. My days watching Gerry Gow, Paul Cheesley, Norman Hunter et al in division 1 were in the old enclosure stood on a metal stool that my beloved dad made. Happy memories.
Like the old east end, we will all have fond memories of the Grandstand but it's had its' day and we look forward, not back. The replacement is going to be something really special, our iconic stand and I can't wait to see it rise now.
Lots of interesting rumours floating about regarding the houses at the rear of the Atyeo, not that we need the extra capacity at the moment.

Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to have experienced this, and be able to tell such tales, but the stories that have been passed down the generations from family and friends to me in my younger years, you were incredibly lucky to be privileged enough to experience them.

Old school football really doesn't come by the same definition of Modern Football IMO.

You are spot on JJH and modern football isn't all that bad. Yes, I was lucky to be around in those days but the match experience was a totally different animal and I mean animal. At times it was just plain scary when I was a little red, absolutely mad. The facilities around the country were generally very poor as well.

Like you Ciderup, I was also lucky to be around in those days. Yes at times it was scary, but the "feel" of the match day experience is what got me hooked many moons ago.

TBH, I think the main difference between then and now, is that these days you are totally reliant on the football as to whether you have a good match experience, whereas years ago win, lose or draw, you could still have a great time.

Then again, maybe it's just because I'm older now?

I hate the modern day experience, not so much the lack of hooliganism or owt but how it's almost sanitised and generic, every club sings the same fucking songs, you have buy tickets in advance to sit with yer pals, much easier in the old days of standing when you just rocked up and you knew yer mates would be in the same spot.

Watching some 19 year old kid with a 'wacky' haricut in green boots falling over like he's suffered a serious injury only to be running around like a pup moments later, then driving off in his super car post game before being snapped supping Grey Goose in some pretentious shit hole!

Meh!

Nice ground upgrade tho lads
