Although not as pathetic as some of our belm-brigade this week. One tit actually emailed the club to complain about the colour of the advertising hoardings at the back of the stand being tangerine (which isn't even a colour ffs) and how its a disgrace.

I believe the most recent talk was of creating a petition to get them changed to blue and white. Fucking dangers to society the lot of them.

Is it? Or is it slightly sad and pathetic?

Come back to us when Blackpool drop out of the Football League on the last day, despite only being in the bottom 2 for the last 30 minutes of the season.

Especially when in March of that season the gas were talking about making the play offs.

I'd probably be delighted and celebrate. I doubt I'd spend real life money to get a picture of the score printed onto a mug.

Maybe the rivalry is more intense if you share a city.

Probably. Always seems to be a more friendly rivalry when it's an inner-city rivalry because you have mates who support the other team.

Blackpool v Preston rivalry is similar. If not bigger than Bristol Rovers v City. Attendances to both games in the past 10-15 years will show that for a start.

Living in north Bristol most of my mates are gas heads, and have never let me forget a defeat to them, ever.

Thankfully we've only lost to them twice in 20 years.

Jesus wept Tom, I must say I didn't have you down as a boring c***.

The amount of grief they've given in the past, Windass banners on the M4 and such, it's all part of the fun and games of a rivalry. Don't take it so seriously, light hearted fun.

Personally I think rivalries between towns have more "hatred" attracted to them. Living I sheffield I don't buy the hype of the Sheffield Derby "hatred". Don't get me wrong it's a great fixture that means a lot but loads of blades fans have Wednesday mates or family. Think it stops at jokey banter rather than genuine dislike/hatred. Celtic and Rangers is the antithesis though...

Burnley Blackburn, Preston Blackpool etc I think carry more than just bragging rights compared to those inter city derbies.

Well considering we have rivalries with Cardiff and Swindon, we should surely be in a position to judge on this... And I can assure you that they do not come remotely close to the intensity between us and the gas. Bristol is very much a north/south divide when it comes to football. All my family is City and I can count the number of gas I know on a personal level on one hand.

Blackpool/Preston attendance in the last 15 years:
17,807
9,629
9,643
21,273
9,861
19,840
17,470
Average 15,075

Bristol City/Rovers attendance in the last 15 years:
17,367
18,730
11,530
17,888
Average 16,379

I suppose you'd be right if Blackpool could muster a crowd.

3 of them are sold out. So you've half proven my point. I've been to Gas v City and it's exactly the same. But with a far better atmosphere at Blackpool Preston games. By quite a distance.

Two of ours were sell outs.

I bet that's utter bollocks. The last Bristol derby was incredible, and the 2007 one at their place was incredibly intimidating. May I ask when you last attended a Bristol derby?

All of those for us would have been sell outs or thereabouts. The 11000 would have been sell out at the mem, 18000 and higher 17000 were sell outs, with segregation and then tv eating into the seats available

Hey lads I know a lot of you were hoping to go to Stamford Bridge -- Anyway to show there is no hard feelings you are all invited on our coach to sample what a real football ground looks like.

No worries, we have our own. This may come as news, but most clubs don't play football at a campsite.

You would say that being a Wednesday fan. Lived in Sheffield past couple of years rivalry is nothing more than bragging rights.
We haven't had a game since you've lived here so makes your point irrelevant. The fact we are so far ahead of them at present means there's little for either club to be wound up about.
