Away at Grimsby tomorrow.

We've basically thrown all of our Cup games so far and used them as squad games, which I suppose you can justify at the minute given where we are in the league.

Even if we did want to go stronger, I'm not sure we could. Not 100% aware of when the international players go away but we could without ten or so anyway.

We've got Wolves kids. Hopefully a good chance for some players on the fringes of the squad (Mullin particularly) to get some much needed minutes tonight.

Shrews away, sold 3100 tickets, they all wont turn up though as these games are counting for next years away ticket membership scheme so for a tenner people are bagging them for numbers.

I would hope we make a few changes tonight, some away on international duty too.

I wouldn't mind going to our game tonight. A stress free environment to see our emergency loan keeper before Saturday.

3-0. Faal with an absolute cracker for his first goal for the club. Brunt has been really good in defence, nice and calm and can being the ball out well. Rathbone also been really good.

Men against boys tonight. Good performance from our second string.

Made a lot of changes. Dragged it out but finally won against lower league opponents this season. 2-1 at Grimsby with a 90+ minute winner. Wasn't a classic by the sounds of it, but keeps the momentum going.

He's impressed in past 2 games so I think Brunt will be phased into the starting lineup soon. 2 easy games to play in really though but he is very comfortable on the ball. With him, Cleworth and O'Connor we are spoilt for choice in terms of ball playing defenders who can carry out Parky's total football.

Would like to see Rathbone in place of Lee for an away league match, see how we do. I love Lee, but away from home he'd may as well not bother as we can't get him on the ball.

Big following going wild too. Said it on the L2 forum as well but more than you used to bring to us in the league.

Did what we usually do, dominated the game for large spells, didn't find the second goal despite numerous chances. Colchester score from their only shot on target from a set play and draw the game and we win the shootout.

For our last game against MK, if neither side wins in 90mins we're both out, the winner of pens if it got that far won't have a better GD than the top two in our group.

Anyway, back to the game, for a training game/pre season friendly/walk in the park, was a good night, some fringe players got a run out and improved on their fitness.

plus the hot dog was top drawer.

40 minutes down the road, piece of cake to get to, and an incentive to get points on the board for future away tickets I believe.
indeed, the club has incentivised the fans to attend all BSM home and away matches as the game will go towards helping with our away membership next season, whichever league we will be in. at £10 a ticket last night its a cheap one to tick off to get up the ladder Think this is for all cup games home and away, carling and fa cup too

The club said this was due to some low allocations we will receive this season, many fans on lower tiers of the away membership would have no chance of bagging these tickets so the club got creative.

Didn't go last night.

We were 0-3 down to Wimbledon. Got it back to 3-3 and lost to a 95th minute breakaway.

Just want to know . What sort of people go to these type of games. They cannot lead very interesting lives.

I'll be honest, I went to the u21 last season to see what the standard was, then Crewe away as the wife and lad hadn't ticked off Gresty Road (and we knew we wouldn't get tickets for the league game there). This season we haven't bothered but might be tempted for Vale away as we don't get to play them in the league, and my lad can tick another ground off his list.

I watched it on TV but only really to see some of our fringe players (and because it was on and I didn't have to pay any money). I suppose it's similar motivation to going to watch Reserve games- if you're not doing anything else why not?

The fact Aston Villa's B team are in this competition makes that Birmingham attendance seem even worse.

It's not as if you won't get to go to Shrewsbury for a first team fixture this season either!

Attendances in this competition have definitely gone up the last couple of years, Premier League knew apathy/ignorance would win eventually if they just held out long enough, still bemuses me nearly 10 years later that any right-minded lower league fan would go to these games, but given the lack of moral and principle held by English fans I guess it's not surprising.

What's that you say? They've done it again in the National League to get rid of FA Cup replays? What a shock.

Tinpot allocations for some games this season, £10 to get the equivalent membership point was a no brainer. We just paid for Shrews electric bill for the next month, people shroud be thanking us for sharing the wealth :)

rather they went back to a straight knockout, although it wouldnt give the overpaid U21 darlings at least 3 games and we know everything is done to help the top teams....
