Big win and much needed should instil confidence ahead of Saturday.

Still worries defensively but great to see Thomas and Chislett impress attacking wise. Need to take it into Saturday now.

Well done mate, hope you get a 'good' draw in the next round and progress

Happy enough again with our overall performance against better opponents, but we’ve got to be doing better in the final third.

Especially second half tonight we let Plymouth coast to the win despite having the better of the possession.

First half Plymouth took their chances, one of which came from a bad error by Omar Beckles. We had chances to score but didn’t take them, our lack of fitness in our attacking players is hurting us right now.

1-1 draw tonight with Watford, made it through after winning the shootout. Didn't go to the game but sounds like Watford started the better, took an early lead and we grew into the game managing to level before the break. We may have had the better of the second half but called on Hegyi to first keep the scores level in normal time and then save a penalty to help us progress in the shootout.

It is Harrogate though. We could have Haaland and if we played him against Harrogate he'd look more like Elias Sorensen
Harrogate Town, Harrogate Railways or Harrogate Spring Water, I fully expected us to win tonight. I’m bitterly disappointed with the performance, the fitness levels and the lack of quality we showed.

Sounds fair.

Even our in house radio commentary team said you more than matched us even if we had more effort on goal 2nd half.

TBH I couldn't think of 5 players to take penalties for us so no wonder 2 missed.

Better as an attacking unit but boy do we look shaky at the back. We need to sack off this zonal marking for a start....it never works.

It still baffles me how Fleetwood can assemble a very competitive team when they are half the size of our club and finished above us again last season.

How does this happen?

Seen the goals, terrible defending again from a corner! That was a Saturday goal!

Beautiful finish from Chislett, in fairness both sides first goals pretty identical.

Second goal was great work and pace from Thomas we’ve needed that! Huge boost to him that is.

Third goal is that Massey with the effort there!!! Great composure after an error from Fleetwood to see Chislett and good header.

The two loanees and Chislett appear to have had great games and they looked decent at the weekend when they came on so gives us some hope going forward but we have to sort this defending out which seems to be positioning rather than maybe personell.

Probably needs Lowe to come in with his experience.

Great to see Ripley produce some magic at the end with two great saves.

Hopefully a decent tie in round 2 and more importantly confidence going into the next league fixtures. Pleased they shown character after going down twice early in each half.

We are hilariously wank, fortunately I couldn’t go but did manage to catch Blackpool’s second goal which you wouldn’t even see at Sunday League level.

I’m really not sure what to think anymore, before the season I was excited. Less than a week in and I’m just clinically depressed with it all. I’ve already lumped £80 on the Burton double chance for Saturday. Warne just looks like he’s on the verge of a breakdown.

We never laid a glove on Birmingham apparently.

I'm not going to panic over a narrow away defeat and a loss to a team from a division above us, but our lack of attacking intent is a concern. As are major injuries to George Lloyd (2-3 months) and Elliot Bonds (another couple of months). Will Goodwin also being out for all of pre-season and the start of the season means we have two senior strikers.

A lot of work needs doing before the window closes.

A relatively straight forward progression into the next round for us despite playing pretty much a second string.

Shows that the summer recruitment has given us depth and a real competition for places this year, but mindful that FGR are a relatively unknown quantity to judge at the moment based on last seasons performances.

Crowd nonce fact, it was one of those rare occasions where the away fans outnumbered the home.

Looks like some of the fairweathers have got disillusioned by last season and have given up the ghost.
Noticed the same on Saturday on the highlights (once we got to them !)

Hardly a soul there .

Really good use of the squad last night. Made 10 changes and fairly comfortably beat League 2 Forest Green. Yengi carrying on from Saturday. Probably should have walked away with the match ball, but had to settle for just the 2. Jack Sparkes was unplayable yesterday. What a cracking football this lad is. Not sure why all the bad comments from alot of Exeter fans about him. Also Alex Robertson on loan from Man City is a serious player. Remember the name. I think he'll be one of the ones to be in an around their first team in the next few years. Came on, no real training sessions, straight in, looked like he'd played in that side for ages. Demanding the ball, great turn of pace, read the game brilliantly and even cheeky enough to meg one of the central midfielders and play a tasty through ball to Bishop. Good to see we have an actual squad. Our CB pairing was Raggett and Shaggnassey. Both very experienced and steady league one CBs.

I think their first goal was an absolute beauty to be fair, placed it perfectly. The second one I get why teams use zonal marking but when it goes wrong it looks really bad in terms of someone having all the time and space in the world to finish. Decent team though Fleetwood, their lad taking corners especially has some delivery on him and Harries in open play was very good.

Glad you mentioned Massey there. That was the one other disappointment to me tonight in terms of some people booing him when he came on. I’m not going to sit here and say he’s Messi or whatever but how does that help with his confidence?

Hopefully get something decent in the second round. Our defence is too much of a work in progress for me to want the shit right now. We haven’t played Chelsea in approaching a century I think so maybe that one is due.

Massey is the boo boy isn't he from fans... I will put it there now first half Saturday I thought he was one of our better players!

Being where I am from I would love us to play Leicester but as you say too soon, the stick I would get if we got walloped makes it not worth it at the moment!

I think its still North and South so Chelsea wouldn't be one but someone like Everton would be alright... no doubt end up with Burnley or Rotherham.

thought people were talking bollocks about the regionalisation but apparently it's correct (although obvs the Daily Express is a shite rag):

"The Carabao Cup will be regionalised in the early rounds, with the draw split into northern and southern sections until round three."

I don't know why the Prem teams are listed separately if it's regionalised, but every site listing the draw teams seems to do it like this.

Who I'd like: Palarse or Sutton away (sad tick-off reasons)
Who we'll get: Gills or Stevenage
What'd be funny (but I hope doesn't happen): QPR (because of the Ainsworth factor)

Ah right scrap my preference to Chelsea then. It’s going to be Rotherham, might as well accept it now. Thankfully Crewe knocked out Sunderland as that’s the other team we always draw ad nauseum.

Think with Gareth right now a loss this weekend and I reckon he’ll be gone by the time the second round arrives (if QPR made it through of course).

You've only seen a couple of games from him, and one was against Forest Green. If you still feel the same in October and if he's in your starting line up I'll fess up
