Who I'd like: Spurs or Chelsea (preferably at home as away might be difficult for work)
Who we'll get: Gills or Stevenage away
What'd be funny (but I hope doesn't happen): Brentford (to see if they allow Trevitt to play)

I guess a home tie against a L2 club is better as more chance of progress to the real big boys coming into it, otherwise Everton is about the only tasty looking big club in there.
European Cup Winners Notts Forest not big enough for you?

Ideal as its not far from me and plenty of friends who are Forest BUT we've played them loads of times at League One level so its not a glam tie.

You've only seen a couple of games from him, and one was against Forest Green. If you still feel the same in October and if he's in your starting line up I'll fess up
To be fair I saw him in a few pre season matches and you can tell regardless who the opposition is if a player has a turn of pace, decent footballing brain and technique. One massive thing he has in his locker is he has extremely quick feet. Manages to engineer space to get crosses in and his crossing ability for a full back is probably the best at the club at the moment. I think as long as he's used in the correct matches, ie I'd rather play Ogivilie at LB when we are more backs against the ball, having to win headers in the box etc, but in a match where we are going to dominate and play very high full backs he'll do well. Sometimes players just fall out of it at clubs. We've seen it at Pompey for tons of players. Michael Smith was hounded out of the club, Sonny Bradley the same

Better as an attacking unit but boy do we look shaky at the back. We need to sack off this zonal marking for a start....it never works.

It still baffles me how Fleetwood can assemble a very competitive team when they are half the size of our club and finished above us again last season.

How does this happen?
Simple, they where run by a criminal and a lot of their finance have come through the proceeds of crime.
They will get their just desserts,it will take the EFL and HMRC some time but it will happen in the end

I get the feeling this is going to be a long night for Burton. Nothing they’re doing wrong but this Leicester team are top quality throughout. They should piss the Championship.

They are but that goal was Vale level defending

To a point but I just think Leicester are too clever for them. I think with how much chasing the ball they’ve had to do the floodgates may open second half. Even worse for Burton Stockton didn’t look in a good way when he came off there.

Great score for Shrews at halftime though, hopefully they keep it going.

1-0 up at Leeds at HT and fully deserved.

17 year old Travis Hearns signed his first pro deal on Monday (three year deal) and starts his first game tonight, he’s been magnificent, definitely one that we’ll sell for big money in the next year or so I reckon. The stand out player so far is Taylor Perry. He’s running the midfield and looks a cut above, scored our goal too.

Only HT but I really like the way Matt Taylor has us set up. Constant high press and Leeds are struggling with it. Very aggressive play and we keep the ball very well, something we didn’t do under Cotterill as as soon as we had it in defence we would just lump it forward.

Hopefully we keep this going, can see us scoring again second half from this press.

Again Leicester just that bit smarter than Burton. Think that ends any hope of Burton coming back into it.

Burton seem full of unforced errors, Leicester aren't even making them make half these mistakes.

Decent result for us last night, the Carabao Cup always seems to be one that takes on a little bit of extra significance for teams who lose on the opening weekend.

We could only make 3 or 4 changes so we were fairly strong but when you're 2-0 up against 10 men at the hour mark then it becomes an easy evening. Looking at the highlights, should have been 5 or 6 really.

Yeah Leicester are not even out of first gear but Burton seem very soft bar the five minutes before their second.

Stockton had similar issues last season didn’t he? Recall him going off against us with that.

Lost 2-1.

Leeds fully deserved the win on the second half display, no complaints from me. That Archie Gray for Leeds is going to be some player, mad to think he’s 17 years old.

As for us, after the past week I’m feeling confident in the season ahead. The pressing that we do is going to cause our opponents some issues. Taylor Perry is class and Noah Kenneh looks like a solid signing too in the middle. We gave young lad Jason Sraha a debut in the second half and he looks good, don’t know why Barnsley got rid of him.

Over 35,000 in attendance, assume we get some of that money from the gate receipts? Hope so as that can go into the James Collins fund hopefully.

Plenty of positives tonight, onwards to Stevenage on Saturday.

Resembled a training ground exercise in the second half but Burton kept going to the final whistle at least. Just outmatched for quality which you’d fully expect in fairness.

Home tie against a league two side can’t grumble at that.

Got them twice in a week at home! We usually beat them but now there’s a league between us you could see us throwing in a stinker.

Great change though on paper to get into round 3 with the big Prem clubs so only ourselves to blame if we don’t.

miles off the mark! It'd be ridiculous to think they'd make you travel all that way.

I did say I wanted Sutton, but was only really interested in the away game as I haven't been to their ground. On paper a decent chance to progress though (and no, I'm not taking it for granted, I'm sure they're plenty capable of turning us over).

Two draws in a row for us! We must usually go out first round more than anyone else in this! We have a terrible record… all be it when we go get past round 1 we usually go on a run in it!

No dilemma on this for me. Pizza trophy it’s a Jack Shorrock, Rhys Walters and Tommy Mac kind of lineup and first choice XI in the League Cup tie. The carrot of a potential money spinner in round 3 is worth it. Mind you always sticks in my mind the year we beat both Sheffield clubs in the first two rounds got excited about a big tie and ended up with Scunny away.

Yea Scunny were Championship so was as bad a tie as you’d get. Went that, lost in ET.

Best one was beating three Championship sides then a memorable night at Spurs. Goodlad was world class that night but sadly his career was all but ended weeks later by injury.

It’s not Stoke (one ball off!) but should make it slightly less mundane than usual I guess.

A repeat of the most glamourous Cup Final ever, Bolton v Middlesbrough at the Millennium stadium in 2004, sold it out in 2 hours and there was a big cock up, with many season ticket holders not getting tickets.

More than 2,000 angry Bolton Wanderers season ticket holders are expected to miss the Carling Cup Final.

These include 900 postal applicants whose requests cannot be met following the club's almighty cock up.

The season ticket holders have been denied the chance to buy tickets for the final because Bolton allowed season ticket holders, Lifeline members and Club members to buy two tickets apiece.

The Bolton Evening News maintains it has received an unprecedented number of complaints from irate fans who are going to miss the big match at the Millennium Stadium.

These include fans who booked accommodation in Cardiff and made travel arrangements thinking they were "guaranteed" a ticket and now cannot get their money back.

Such an odd match against Bristol Rovers. We played our reserves, 11 changes from the Sunderland win. Not sure if Bristol Rovers had their full strength team out but they certainly have some great attacking names in their squad.

However, it was like a pre-season friendly. Neither team seemed to really care about the match and I spent most of it trying to stay awake. Luke Thomas looked like the only player that wanted to attack for them.

Please can someone take Harness, Lee Evans and Jackson off us please? (I said please twice!!! :))
