Few more names of clubs who have offered us assistance, not specified what kind of assistance, or if the list is exhaustive. From the article I figure Celtic, Rangers, Plymouth and Yeovil are named specifically to illustrate that offers have come from up and down the country.
  • Newcastle United (offered use of their training facilities)
  • Celtic
  • Rangers
  • Plymouth Argyle
  • Yeovil Town
We're thankful to these clubs and any others who have offered assistance.

I'm interested in adopting those Koi that found their way to BP. Who shall I contact?

They're already gone, they've been returned to their owner. Unlucky.

So what have Plymouth and yeovil offered? To host our upcoming home fixtures against them? How thoughtful!

i know it'd be a pain for say away fans but it would be very unique if we played at say Rangers.

feel more sorry for our club this time around because at least last time it was late jan when most of the busy period had gone and we had little league games, plus in conf could use some of the facilities you cannot here.

this time it hits the busy period of the year, you cannot afford to risk 5 odd games moved to end hoping no games get postponed (I mean accy on boxing day must be a good bet for postponed) and then need to sort games miles away when people have limited money to travel.

add in of course ice may yet come in down line making roads tough to get to afew places and it suddenly adds more twists.

and decisions need to be made quick because people need time to organise

Our pitch has emerged from the murky depths.

Looks can be deceiving, it will still need a lot of work; and the main issue will be the stadium facilities but it at least looks to be in a more playable condition than Notts County's ;)

Notts County are helping raise money for the flood appeal with bucket collections at their game tomorrow.

Welling United auctioned an official match ball from the weekend which raised a further £1000.

According to our forum the delay is because Hartlepool are refusing to play at St James Park and are only willing to move the match to Victoria Park.

If true, they can FUCK RIGHT OFF.

That sounds like something someone on our forum would say. Can't believe anyone would be so brazen, or that the FA would allow a team to have more home games than everyone else, as that would give Hartlepool an advantage over everyone, not just us.

That had better be BS because it would just be unbelievable and it'd make Hartlepool the most hated club in the country!

Denying us a home fixture and at St James Park too!

I bet they're trying to get back at us for supposedly braking some of their chairs which was a load of crap. Well if we have to play at Victoria Park then I think there will be a lot more done than just broken chairs.

Last time was 10 years ago so it's not that often. There will be United fans too young to remember the last time this happened.
I read somewhere your pitch flooded (obviously not as bad as now) last month?

Yeah about two thirds of the pitch was underwater, nowhere near as bad as this time though obviously when the water was up to the crossbar, never seen anything like it.

I'm calling bullshit on it, but even if true, I don't think Hartlepool would have too much of a say where the game was played. They're the away team, and if the home team, FA, FL and owner of the ground have decided a certain place is the home team's ground they just have to go there.

Yeah it's the other way round I would've thought, I think we get to choose whether to lose our home advantage but beyond that if we say we don't then I think the choice is ours, within reason of course.

Even if we agreed to play it at Victoria Park, the other teams around Hartlepool in the league may object to the idea of one of their rivals getting an extra home game. Imagine if Hartlepool beat us and then escaped relegation by three points.

I'm surprised that Pools feel the need to do this with Rakishinho in their ranks...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, sweet child o'mine.

Neither I, nor anyone else I know have heard this stuff. We'd hate our own club if this was even slightly true. As someone said the League would never sanction it anyway so it's a non-starter. Please don't run with it. It's up to Carlisle where they play their home matches, provided the League agree, we'd have little or no say in the matter and if we refused to go, we'd forfeit the points and while we do that comfortably in the 90 mins. we wouldn't do it for the buggeration factor.

For the record our board is buzzing with a potential opportunity to play at Newcastle, people are even making travel plans.
