I cannot believe at all that the pool rumours are true because the sh*t that would come to Hartlepool afterwards would not be worth it.

plus we'd just pospone it and play it on a tuesday so that would f*ck their fanbase rather than ours who would then have to travel further and on a Tuesday.

it makes no sense for them to take a 'taking an advantage' approach to this so i personally do not believe the rumour at all.

I would hazard a guess the police is the reason for the delay.......what part of ground to open, how many tickets do you give hartlepool, how do you keep 2 sets of ans separate etc, etc.........do North-east Police want all this stuff

We've been given the Sir Tom Finney Stand for the game at Deepdale next week, Notts County will be housed in the normal away end.

Tickets are £15 for adults, and Reays have put on free coaches for travelling fans.

Also important to note the following
Season Ticket holders do NOT need to contact the club and do NOT need any form of alternative ticket for this fixture.
It's something I'd been wondering as I presumed that only tickets issued by PNEFC would be recognised as valid by their own ticketing system, but clearly they've managed to get our own ticket records into it.

In addition to the free coaches, Virgin Trains are offered a special reduced price on returns to Preston.

I'm hoping this combination of offers, along with the good publicity the club has been getting can draw a decent crowd of home fans.

They don't have a ticketing system, it's not automated.

I hope we do this. I'd rather play them on a Tuesday at brunton park than go to St James'

You'd turn down the chance to play them at St James Park so we can instead play them on some shitting cold Tuesday night in February?

What if Newcastle fans went to the match if it was at St James Park? Could be a big turn out with us getting the majority of the ticket money!

I think it's safe to say our match will be played on a Tuesday night in the middle of March or something.

Getting police, catering staff, stewards, turnstile operators etc etc to work the 28th at St James Park 2 days after Newcastle play a home game is very unlikely, especially given the (relatively) short notice, the fact it is a bank holiday, and it's over Xmas.

I would be disappointed, as it could have been a great day out; but at the same time was also a bit disappointed with the prospect of not getting to play Hartlepool at Brunton Park, so at least getting that back would be welcome. It would draw a larger than normal crowd and while Tuesday night would reduce the crowd, so would playing it at St James. I only hope that if it does take place later in the season it takes place at a critical point with us chasing a play-off place, as the prospect of a home game against Hartlepool with a shot at promotion will excite people and mitigate a little for the Tuesday night effect.

We would certainly take more fans to Newcastle than we would Carlisle on a Tuesday night. From our point of view, a day out in Newcastle would only be dampened by the 90 minute match we would lose in. However, there is no appeal in going to Carlisle on a Tuesday with an inevitable defeat also on the cards.

You want the game to take place the Tuesday night following a couple of tough games, sometime mid March would be perfect for you with a run of Orient, Northampton, Exeter, Wycombe. If you were to lose the first 2, giving us a resounding 5-0 thumping would lift spirits again for the Exeter and Wycombe games.

Personally, I would prefer to give you the 2-0 win and save any embarassment.

I think our best chance of 3 points is at Brunton.

A bank holiday Monday at st James will be very convenient for Hartlepool. They'll bring thousands, maybe even as many as us even though it's our home game. It will make it more of a "cup final" atmosphere so will probably make it more evenly matched.

So yes I'd rather play them at Brunton park as the home team. It's our home ffs!

For financial reasons I would like it at St James.

I don't see why people have a mass appeal for this game, even if 10,000 if that is within a 55,000 stadium its going to be like an old Darlo game which all of us know was horrible in that arena they had.

but its our money game and I'd rather 10,000 paying than 3,000.

but if the police are going to meddle and thus cost us too much it'll be better to postpone, this probably has come back to hurt us that them idiots in the away end earlier in season cost us dearly here.

I'm not sure it's a police thing. After all they have to stop 50,000 of them ripping each others limbs off twice a season. We'd be a walk in the park after that.

Mind, it being your home game you'd have to pay the police bill and it's an overtime bonanza between Christmas and New Year.

I would assume (perhaps wrongly) that part of Newcastle's offer of help would be to contribute to costs such as policing, otherwise it sort of defeats the point of clubs like Welling donating money to us and Newcastle offering us help with kits etc.

Hopefully yes. I agree it would be a bit of an empty gesture just to give you the keys.

I doubt plod will be very charitable though.

We'd have to do that anyway at Brunton Park... at least Tyne & Wear police should have a realistic idea of what to expect from Carlisle v Hartlepool... Cumbria police like to build up any encounter we have with other northern teams into River v Boca.

Our FA cup 3rd round match against Yeovil will be played at Bloomfield Road.

Can't see many going to that!

Might be of interest to Blackpool fans who don't often get the chance to go inside.

Or it'll kick off big time between Blackpool fans who don't want Carlisle fans to go inside, and Carlisle fans who sympathise with their plight but don't wish put it ahead of supporting our own team.

They're currently debating on BHS whether or not the Oystons benefit from this in any way. The answer to that could determine the atmosphere.

Blackpool is actually a decent choice of ground.

the train prices are some of the cheapest to anywhere in country from Carlisle for some reason (If you book in advance it can be cheaper return to Blackpool than Newcastle or even Penrith.

also lots of easy parking for them going by car, and even in January still some things open to keep the kids quiet for abit beforehand. Lots of pubs places to eat etc, etc.

but the bigger worry is their fanbase who are present think we'll paid the Oystons for it so are debating to get game called off or protest.

but as a ground it makes a lot of sense.

That might be something to do with how popular a route it is for holidaying Weegies. I think they even set an episode of Rab C. Nesbitt in Blackpool. Could be the price is set to appeal to the people who will holiday in Blackpool.

Looking at Back Henry Street, it's not looking good, I envisage a lot of threatening behaviour towards visiting Carlisle fans from the Blackpool protesters. They seem to be very much of the opinion that we're as bad as the Oystons for using their ground and intend to direct their protests at us. My concern is whether our own hooligan element will be incensed by this and go looking for a fight.

As I said above, I symapthise with the plight of the Blackpool fans, but I sympathise with the plight of my own club and I'm not about to boycott my own club to aid the Blackpool fans' cause. I will sign any petitions they want me to sign, and if they are collecting donations to fight legal battles I'm happy to put money in a bucket, but I feel my club have done nothing wrong, even if we paid the Oystons to use Bloomfield Road, we didn't really have any choice and I don't really want to be intimidated out of supporting my own club.

It would be very sad of them if they did that and would definitely make them look bad, we're not the reason why their club is in turmoil. This is about us, a club who have lost their home and need as much support from the football community we can get!

I'm already looking at hotels for the Saturday night. A January weekend away in wet & windy Blackpool - get in!

Your leaving it a bit late to announce Hartlepool arrangements ....nice of you to consider the 12 Yeovil fans ahead of us

I think the problem is St James maybe was agreed on by all parties.............probably police ditched that idea.

now they have to find new venue or cancel, or else negotiate with police on costs for St James.

but agree its being left extremely late, think if not sorted by weekend it should be cancelled

just asking like.....is it too far fetched to consider getting a low cost flight/ferry to northern ireland if a ground was available??

I think its the other country stuff.

I would imagine we may have got offered Rangers or Celtics ground as Scotland do not play that day but they said playing in Scotland wasn't allowed or an option s think same would be said for N.Ireland.

find it a shame myself as chirstmas can be where you gain momentum and I doubt Accy will be on so we could in effect drop down table due to not playing much.

but if not feesable then nothing they can do really. Makes that FA Cup game massive for us to claw back the finances lost this month (70,000 for winner) with Yeovil desperate for squad building money also it's going to be an interesting cup tie.
